This is a perfect spot. We had the Steamed Bun, Poutine, and Mac & Cheese; everything was delicious. I highly recommend the Steamed Bun. We had the Barrel of Souls (an aged stout) and a honey mead/beer mix (I can't remember the name). Both were delicious, but the mead/beer was our favorite, the two flavors complemented each other very well. The bartender was super nice and had some suggestions for local shops to check out. I think if you're going for beers, this is a nice place to visit. The beer that made them famous was a hit at our table. We went for dinner because two people in our party were vegan and this menu had vegan options which we appreciate so much. I don't believe it's her fault as there is no kitchen in this establishment, but the food was bad. Some of it was not fit for consumption, and, to their credit, I was not charged for those items that were inedible. I suspect the food would be great if she had what she needed to do her job, because the menu was really interesting. It's a local place with nice local people and we always try to support those businesses when we visit a town. But you cannot cook meals using one hot plate and an air fryer, or store restaurant grade food in a college refrigerator for extended periods. We were headed to Bangor for a concert and we needed dinner before going into the venue. After casting around a bit, we decided on 2 Feet Brewing. I was a little put off by the open mike night happening out front because it was really loud, but the crowd seemed to be enjoying it. We went inside and were a little taken aback by how hot it was inside, even though it wasn't a really hot day. But, we decided to stay and are happy we did. First off, on the decor; quirky is right, with tons of Bangor tschochtkes and Stephen King stuff around the place. The place is far from fancy, but feels cozy. We enjoyed our dinners, with a little disappointment with the amount of mayo in the lettuce wraps. But the blondie sundae was epic! We stopped in here on a whim on our way back to Surry and it definitely satiated us. It is very unassuming and gives a locals vibe. Most people were sitting outside enjoying the weather so we were one of maybe 2 parties inside. The person behind the bar was very helpful and we ordered a mead and a glass of wine. Both were good! We also ordered fries and green bean fries. Both were actually really tasty. Since this place is so small inside, they don't have a full kitchen but they make it work! They have some dishes on the menu that make me question how in any world they get these on a plate without a full kitchen but they do it and they do it well. While we were eating, we heard multiple times how their lobster mac and cheese is they best thing they've ever eaten. Unfortunately, we were not there for anything involved, just a quick stop or else I would have been intrigued to try it. I would stop back in here for a chill vibe if I'm in the area. This was such a find!!! It was suggested to us by Dean at the Cryptozoology museum. Every plate was amazing. Our bar keep was by himself and was tending and cooking on his own but even so everything was cooked perfectly and so very tasty. And for small shareable plates these were good sized. Beers were excellent as well. My husband got the sour pumpkin and I had the wheat ale. Will absolutely come back but learn from us. Order beers and then only a few food items instead of everything at once like we did. Parking is available right in front after 5pm but. Edie that you'll have to find a lot. read more

A recent trip to Bangor found me trying some new breweries. This was our first stop and definitely had a cool vibe! It's a small bar, but had lots of character. For a small brewery, they have a good selection of beers and food! I was impressed watching the cook make butter chicken with minimal equipment. Several of the beers sounded intriguing, so I went with a flight! Their flights come in 3 or 5 pours, so I opted for 5! All of the beers were good! I wanted to try a lot of things on the food menu, but wasn't ready for anything substantial! I just ordered some garlic parm fries and they hit the spot! The aioli on the side was delicious as well! Wow, the food here and the space itself are on point - if you are into the, 'travelers' vibe. It feels like a spot one might come across during travel abroad; hikers, bikers, artists, intellects, locals. Great local bands, again, just wonderful food (so impressive considering there really isn't a kitchen). It reminded me a place I popped through in another life traveling through northern India (it was Tibetan owned - there were ample momos, drawings from travelers all over the walls, lots of different faces). Kind of a douchie hipster place. I went in looking for a beer after the gym. The chalk board with the beers was smudged and hard to read. The bartender(?) curtly told me to read the board when I asked what they had. I told him I could not read it and asked if they had a Pub Ale. He offered a less hoppy IPA. I asked if they had any bottles or cans. He replied in a superior tone that this was a brew pub so they did not sell 'domestics.' Too bad they are too in the know for a good old Bud or Pabst. We were there this past Saturday (11/22) and the owner is going to hate this, but our grandson rated this place "five star!" It doesn't look like much from the outside but don't be fooled. Had one day in Bangor and found this local establishment with a funky vibe located next to a wonderful umbrella canopied street! We sat outside and enjoyed the nicely scaled street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They were smoking up the place with meat yet it gave AA great olfactory experience! We partook of a citrus beer and a local cider both were agreeable. This place is awesome! It's in a central location, the staff is family and the food was something else. I just finished hiking the Appalachian Trail so I was a bottomless pit for beer and food. I ordered some cheese sticks and the sticky chicken tenders. I'm normally used to eating about 6-10k calories a day. This food was so great and filling I couldn't move afterwards!!!! They had a couple house beers on tap and some guest brews as well. Everything rotates but from what I gather it's always something good. There are games, things to do and plenty to keep you busy here. If you're downtown and need some food and beer this is the place for you! The staff was delightful as well. read more

This place was a providential find. We flew in from Pittsburgh with plans for Bar Harbor, and got in late enough to stay in Bangor. Boy are we glad we did. The IT IPA - my husband is a total beer snob. They make IT in house and it's fantastic. Siamese Devils- I've never had curry eggs before. So silky, with a bit of ginger on top. Wow. My son got the sticky fingers, I think he may have licked off the plate. My daughter does not do gravy- but she loved the poutine anyway. We had the lobster Rangoon and all agree I need to figure out how to do this at home. The Bacon. Just get the bacon or you really haven't lived. And make sure you get the sauce. We were drawn to this brewery because of its interesting PubGrub menu. Everything sounded good...like a tapa menu! We ordered their speciality grain pretzel with their version of beer cheese. It was light, chewy and tasty with or without this yummy cheese. We enjoyed that along with their crisp, flavorful baked/fried green beans. Delightful! I also savored the red pepper, Gouda bisque soup too; while Mike ate every bite of his lobster pies. Dad really enjoyed their red beer called Bangerburn. In Bangor for the day and discovered this interesting "downeast" brewery gem tucked away amidst the winter gray. Not a ton of space but for a late afternoon lunch it was ideal. Service was good and light meal menu items were just what we needed. Lobster Pie and Lobster Rangoon were tasty and the oven-fried green beans decent. My wife loved the house brewed Hagrid Butterscotch seltzer- took a growler home and the "thrice" Stackz Maple Blueberry Imperial ale was quite tasty. All in all a wonderful meal, fare and service. Tiny place but it has the feel of a well-loved local favorite. They had a special of the night when we were there a couple weeks ago, chicken masala, that we only found about by asking our neighbors what they had as it didn't match anything we were seeing on our menu. Again, must be a locals-in-the-know thing. As the menu seemed to be a bunch of small, appetizer like foods, we decided to order quite a few of them to share, plus the Barn Burner beer that was, at first, just ok but it grew on us and we were very impressed with it about 1/3 of the way through. Yep, it had a chili kick to it. This felt like a great find for out-of-towners. The only questionable thing was kids were walking all over the bench seats throughout the space and the tables didn't seem to be cleaned off well enough to eat off. Our "server", the bar hand, simply wiped all the salt and pepper the kids dashed onto the table off with his hand and onto the floor, and we didn't see any attempt to wipe off/sanitize the tables and seats as people left, but I could have missed that for being enthralled with all our yummy looking dishes coming our way! read more

Cute pub, very friendly. The house beer is a jalapeno something or other which is not especially spicy unless you ask for it spicier, and even I liked it--I don't usually like beer. The menu has a couple of vegan options specified, and there are a couple of more secret vegan options that I imagine are probably hit-or-miss for availability. The bartender's mom cooks, and it would seem she likes to experiment with some frozen vegan desserts. The peanut noodles were yummy but that little bowl will fool you, there is actually a generous portion in there that is a punch to the gut if you finish it all, and who are you kidding, you will.
