I normally don't write reviews, but I felt dissatisfied with the service we received. My hamburger was good, but my husband ordered off the brunch menu, and it was mostly potatoes. My daughter had the tuna salad, and she said it was good. Now the service was poor. We waited an hour to get our meal. We were just about to leave, and it came to the table. I know good food takes time, but a salad, burger and eggs/potato should not take an hour. Food was warm not hot! Our waitress never asked if we wanted more water we had to search her down to find out if our food was coming. So if you want food in a timely manner don't go to Masons in Brewer. read more

The tofu was amazing! The best we've ever had and we eat tofu all the time and have for almost 20 years so that says a lot! It was crispy, perfectly sized pieces, very flavorful (I think it was teriyaki) and the portion was generous. We had the pizza special of the day (elote) with vegan cheese and it was decent. The breaded cauliflower app would have been better with some salt/flavoring in the breading and the brussel sprouts had great flavor and texture but they burnt them a bit and it took away from making them a 10/10. The environment was a little loud but the view of the river was nice and the server was pleasant even if a little busy and absent at times. read more

She gave great recommendations and was taking excellent care of us. We will be back! Mason's is a great choice for a lunch or dinner and it shows because it was very crowded when we came. When we arrived we had to wait for 45 minutes for an outdoor seat but it was alright because we walked on the river path by the restaurant while we waited. From the outdoor seats, you have a great view of Bangor and the river. When we were seated, our waiter brought out a dog bowl for our dog (this restaurant is dog friendly, with outdoor seating). The service here was good overall and i liked how I told the waiter about an onion restriction and he checked with the chief if a food had onion and then they were able to accommodate me. Besides that, I felt the waiter was a little inattentive as we waited for a long time for our appetizers. When we asked about our appetizers, he seemed surprised we didn't get them. We also got food for a different table at some point. I don't think the servers were doing a bad job, it just felt they had too many tables to serve. The food and drinks here were excellent. The ciders here were very good and I recommend to try them. For appetizers, we had the dirty fries and we really liked them. For entrees, I had the party pizza and it was a 5/5 pizza. My son liked his butter burger and liked how it was all covered in butter. All in all, the food was 5/5. The service here was good, but we did wait for quite a while for our food and that is why I'm giving 4 stars. But i do recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. read more

I have always enjoyed this place and so have many others. Always good food and service. This time I ordered the smoked wings along with my Hipster. But a question I have is : is eight pieces the usual wing serving for $17? It was seven flats and one drum . Seems a bit much but not sure since I never had the wings before. My wife and I popped in here on our way to Acadia National Park and it was a pleasant surprise! The restaurant is right on the river so you have a gorgeous view as well as access to the riverfront park. The first time we came, it was pretty cold, wet, and dreary outside and it was still such a nice view. Service was efficient! As soon as we walked in, we were seated outside and were able to order a couple beers while we decided what to get for food. Both of the beers we got were sours or sour-adjacent and both were good! For food, we started off with just a side of fries with the dirty seasoning (not the dirty fries on the menu, I believe these are new since we were there). The fries were just okay. They were very dark and not crispy so that leads me to believe that maybe they use peanut oil for frying? Not sure but they weren't the best. They needed a lot of salt as well. The sauces we ordered for dipping were the Bacon Blue Cheese, Liquid Gold BBQ and Black Garlic Ranch. All but the Gold were really tasty! The gold just tasted like honey mustard which is not what we wanted. We expected tang like a gold should be. We also ordered burgers; the Sweet Hot Mess and the Butter Burger. Both were delicious but the Butter Burger was better. It was soooo buttery. Spot on! For sides, we got the Hoisin Sprouts and the Pork Cracklins with salt and vinegar seasoning. The sprouts were too sweet and not spicy enough for my liking. The cracklins....now THOSE are something to write home about. And in fact, I did say in the beginning that we came here more than once. And that was because of these cracklins. We stopped back in on the way back to the airport and best believe we took these babies back home to FL with us. Had the best post-travel snack on the couch!! Love this place. We come to Bangor area often and always eat here. The burgers are fantastic, as are the pizzas. I love the pepperoni pizza, and last time got one with white sauce, which was also wonderful. Their beer selection is great. They have a nice dry cider, as well as several IPAs, a sour beer, and some ales as well as lagers. We stopped in while traveling from out of town and had a great experience! They have an impressive selection of beers along with a full bar, so there's something for everyone. The servers were friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the drink menu, making it easy to find something we'd enjoy. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the area felt safe and pleasant. It was very busy on a Wednesday evening in the off season. The hostess was very nice and pretty accurate on our wait time. The wait gave us time to check out the cool apparel which we did end up buying (and would have bought more if they would have had our sizes). Our waitress was very nice but I did feel sorry for her because she was having to work the entire back section of the restaurant. I would say she did an amazing job but I'm with the other yelpers that they need more staff. We did have to also wait a longer than expected time for the food. Maybe that's intentional so you drink more beer. I'm allergic to hops but my daughter said the Coffee Milk Stout was very good and they had a wide selection. I had the burger and it was really tasty. The bun was super soft and fresh, the smash burger was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the pickles were oh so yummy. We also had the Truffle pig pie. It was good but we wished we would have put red pepper flakes on it to give it a little heat. Large inside and outside with a definite brewery feel. I have visited Mason's a handful of times since moving to the Bangor/Brewer area. My favorite part about Mason's is sitting outside on the patio during the summer/fall. You overlook the Penobscot River. The patio is also dog friendly which is a huge plus for those with dogs. The burgers are always awesome and they have a good selection of beer. I have also tried the Truffle Pig pizza and was very impressed. Staff and service is always fast! It can get busy on weekends or concert nights so just know if you have to wait, it's worth it! read more

If you told me that we would wait an hour and a half for food, I would call you nuts. Unfortunately, it was no joke. Two tables that arrived after us got served and packed their leftovers before we got served. When we spoke with the manager, we were told that he ran wait times of an hour. Not true, but nice try. An hour and a half is too long. The waitress gave us 15% off of our check, but that was all. The food was just as poorly executed. The chicken parm sandwich had no sauce on it and the bread was hard all the way through. The pizza had almost no cheese, and it had no flavor. I was in Bangor for work and read some reviews so thought I would check it out. I was NOT disappointed. I wish I would've taken pictures of my burger but it looked so good I needed to eat it immediately. I had the special and it was a bacon burger with beer cheese to dip in.... Delicious. I had the pumpkin beer and it was tasty! The vibe was great and it's on the river so I'm sure it's lovely in warmer months. I sat at the bar and service was quick. Came on a busy Saturday night while in town for a concert! There was a 45 minute wait, but my cousin and I were able to quickly find two seats at the bar! I'm glad we did because our bartender, Tucker, was delightful! She was full of energy and made our experience enjoyable! I went with one of their house-made ciders which was on the drier side. For food, I got the equivalent of a patty melt which was delicious! The potato salad on the side wasn't my favorite, but everything else was great! The same cocktail shaker and jigger is used for all drinks not once being rinsed by bartender Kaylee. My husband found this place after checking out eating spots around Bangor. This is actually in Brewer, about 5 miles down the road from the Hampton Inn we are staying at in Bangor. We were originally going to both go to the restaurant but after a long day of driving my husband decided to pick up our order and bring it back to the hotel. My husband mentioned that the reviews talked about the food being different. He had Porktasomething burger which had pork belly, bacon and two burgers and sauce. He had fries with it and he could hardly eat it all. He enjoyed it very much. I ordered the Pub pizza and we had cracklins-dirty. The cracklins were good and I'm still eating them two days later. When I first opened my pizza I thought I was given the wrong one because it was supposed to have Italian sausage with fennel seed. What I saw was pepperoni looking slices of meat that were larger than a pepperoni. It also had globs of a cheese mixture in spots. The cheese blobs reminded me of pimento cheese, which I love. I guess I'd have to go back and find the menu to find all the pizza toppings but I did Enjoy it and we had leftovers for lunch the next day. If you want to take your taste buds on a trip this is the place to eat. read more
