Tuna melt, fries and a stout
    Elena K.

We have had beer (cans purchased in a store) from this brewery and like them so we decided to stop by for lunch while visiting our UMaine student. I had quickly scanned reviews and I did see that it was "not much to look at" from the outside but wow was I taken back. It's attached to a yucky motel. My husband said "we can turn back now and go somewhere else" but we were feeling adventurous so we went in. You step into the lobby of said motel and then go through to the pub. The hostess was super friendly and seated us immediately. We had a choice of inside or out and we chose outside as it was a little rough around the edges from what I could see. Our server was very, very nice and our beers came out quickly as well as the waters we also requested (lots of places neglect the water when requested). We all had a different item for lunch and also ordered some bone in wings for an app. The wings were meaty & crispy. No complaints there. The fish sandwich was not enjoyable and the onion rings were soggy. The tuna melt was okay but the tuna lacked any flavor and was too watery for a sandwich (drain the tuna more or add less mayo?) My son and his girlfriend did not complain to us about their sandwiches but they looked similar to the others. The fries were crispy and tasted good and the cole slaw was great. We really like the beers but decided this was a one & done solely based on the food quality and bizarre location. Personally, I would give it another chance for wings and beer but I was outnumbered by the "never again" majority. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think they should consider a facelift to the restaurant and a revamp to the recipes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Typical pub food. I wanted more - but left feeling underwhelmed. The food was decent - not spectacular. Like I said - typical pub food. I told my husband I wished we would have eaten elsewhere and just stopped here for a drink.

Even with the mixed reviews, we decided to try it anyway. Everything was great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere and staff was friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was on point. I had a cesear salad with nice big plump grilled shrimp. Plenty of dressing on the side, croutons, freshly shredded mozzarella and crisp romaine lettuce. Ooh, and if they offer you a roll. Take it! You will not be disappointed. My boyfriend had the ham club with the Zippidy-Do-Dah fries. He thought it all was delicious. We will be back. :)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Does not look like much from the outside...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But, inside it gives the traditional Irish pub vive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu had a variety of food not just Irish fare. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had the pretzel and beer cheese which was delicious - the beer cheese has a unique taste which makes it worth trying. Their boneless wings were really good and the pound is about rright for sharing with 2 people. Over all I don't think you could go wrong having dinner here.

We stopped by on our way to Bar Harbor. Food was good. Desserts were great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of Irish decor[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and great service.

    Top bread greasy. Not grilled

Usually my safe go to place. Partly been sliding. We got rake out. Wings great as always. My Reuben was not good. Greasy bread. Bottom 1/2 sandwich cooked out. Top not cooked. We asked that fries be cooked well done and they were just right. I used to love their Reuben .

Stopped in for a drink with the gals after a show across the street. The wings are SO GOOD! Our server was very attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable

A staple in Bangor that has been around for years. Known for their wings and their pub cheese. The wings are fantastic. This time we got the pub cheese and it's okay but most people love it. Large dining area and big bar area. Pub food that's good. I got the Buffalo chicken quesadilla and it was really great. Service was really good. Worth a stop!

Hi Friends, My favorite go to joint before any event at the Cross Insurance Center. Whether I sit at the bar or am able to score a table, I've never had a bad meal here Last week, I Bebopped to Bangor to catch Dear Evan Hansen, and for the first time I sat at the community table, which is available on nights where there isn't a large group in need of the spot. What a pleasant surprise I got the smoked Reuben (off the specials list), and the sandwich was terrific. So many times, I am reluctant to go with a special for fear the place is just trying to move nearly outdated food. But Geaghan's is always busy enough that I did not believe that the case And I'm glad I made that choice [[HIGHLIGHT]]The pub has a very American Irish public house feel to it, with an extensive list of beers to wash down the food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've never had a bad server or a mediocre meal. Just a heads up, if you're thinking of stopping in on your way to the Waterfront for a show, plan on getting in there early to ensure a spot to eat. The rooms fill quickly, but fear not, the kitchen does a bang on job on getting food out quick even on busy nights See y'all at the crossroads

Classic Reuben with sweet potato waffle fries, coleslaw, pickle and side of Ray's yellow mustard.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by a friendly host and promptly seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The pub area had a wait, so we dined in the side section, which offered comfy booths.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server, Ingrid, was polite and accommodated a substitute for a side order. My husband and I both enjoyed our "Classic Reubens". The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and my husband loved the Irish Nachos. Geaghan's offers a full bar and well-rounded selection of beer as well. I asked for a side of yellow mustard and was happy to see they had Ray's Mustard (a local favorite). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, great service, great food, and welcoming atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you Ingrid and Geaghan's for a good experience!

Ok. I'm not going to lie. When I first looked at the menu I actually headed next door to…read moreMargarita's to eat instead. Boy do I regret that decision! We came back the following night for a REAL treat... First of all, Tony was our server. What an absolute sweetheart!! He had nothing but fantastic recommendations for us. He was definitely not your standard "waiter". He spoke to us like we were regulars, which we appreciated, considering we were from Massachusetts. We ordered three of his suggestions: wings, fish and chips and the spicy margarita. Outside of what was recommended we also got the beer cheese and GIANT soft pretzel, bangers and mash and the creme brûlée. First off- this was my first time trying beer cheese, so I was beyond excited. I hate pretzels, however. Guess what?? They were BOTH SOOO GOOD!! The pretzel was the size of my giant head and was so soft & salty. It really paired well with the creamy beer cheese. I'd come back just for this appetizer every time. The wings too, actually! I was a little hesitant because I read the word "dill" on the menu but they really tasted more like Buffalo wings with a note of dill at the very end. I think I might be in love.... On to the main event! The Smithwick's beer battered fish and chips... WOW. It was a little different than I'm used to (which was a great thing in this case). The batter was thick and crispy (I'm used to thinner) and the haddock was super moist. Very fresh! I order this meal wherever I go and this is definitely in my top 3 (out of probably 50 others). I was hoping I could switch out the chips for fries because, well, I've never had traditional chips before! I must say I was pleasantly impressed though! They were the BEST and completed the dish perfectly. My fiancé had the bangers and mashed. He said it was good and very traditional. I did not indulge, so I can't relay that in my review. Last, we ended the meal with a MUST try....the creme brûlée. LEAVE ROOM FOR THIS DESSERT! The top was a hard sugar coating while the rest was truly a creamy dream. I might have to stop back in JUST for this before I head back home! 5 stars. Definitely. 6 stars for service!!

Service was friendly and very knowledgeable. The drinks we got were great. Things to improve on: Priced a little high for what you get. Change the menu to much where they don't have anything on the menu you have to hear everything from the waitress which is hard to remember. We didn't try any food for the reason and for everything to be super pricey. I will be back to try again if I'm in the area, even if it's just for a drink!

The vibe is chill speakeasy/library; there's a comfy bar area with tables and then a warren of other little spaces where you can hang out as well, with books and games strewn about to peruse. I love that they have a small, curated menu, which makes it easy: Maine oysters (two kinds, both awesome) got me started with a martini (well OK two martinis; friendly bartender makes them *perfectly*), and then you can extend to dinner with a few rotating options. I got lucky because whoever is making this delicious food decided that bolognese and lasagna should have a baby and be served in a piping-hot dish with some bread and salad on the side, and who could be mad about that?! (NB get some red wine with it). And they feature the fabulous Maine martini (aka Allen's Coffee Brandy, to which I have been converted), so there's your perfect nightcap. Sometimes when you go to bars with small menus the food is so-so, but not here: everything was insanely good and the perfect portion size. Who knows when I'll be back in Bangor next, but I'll definitely come here again when I am. Check it out!
