as far as a tire shop goes, the dudes here are realllllly friendly and helpful, and whoa are they fast. i just showed up at a random time, unannounced, and drove away 20 minutes later. only taking 1 star off because their new tires are considerably more expensive than most other retailers, by about $15-20 each. granted, the price per tire includes installation, balancing, and tire disposal, and a myriad of free tire repair services within the warranty, so the extra up front cost might be covered in the long run. read more

I had a slow leak on a run flat tire on my BMW i135. I took it in thinking they would patch it (which they claimed they could), only to discover there was a pretty massive screw sticking out of the inside of the tire that had punctured the tube. But the boss man called a guy he knew in a warehouse and they had my new tire on and ready to go in under an hour. Speedy, efficient service, and very sweet, respectful workers. It seems like a rinky dink operation with a teeny weeny little lot, but they're good at what they do. My impression is that the cash-only rule applies to quick 20- or 25-dollar jobs where running a card would actually cost the garage too big a surcharge. I paid with a card. read more

These guys are sorta hack. went in for leak fix. they pull the weights off the wheel so i'm out of balance after the repair. says because I have a fixed rear axle doesnt matter - NOT. Most places will mark your tire at the valve stem so they can line it back up to use your old weights so you don't lose your balance Not here. read more

I discovered a screw on the driver's side rear wheel yesterday evening but had dinner plans at 6:20PM but it was already 6:08PM. Heading to Berkeley from Emeryville on San Pablo, I was SURE to find a Tire Service Shop...there were several Auto Body Shops, transmission places, Big O Tires...but every place was already closed and then, to my right side I see this corner shop, guys hanging out like its a bbq without any food and you imagine the Coronas in their hand and I question, "Is that a place to go?" Looks like it. I'm already assuming it's going to be at least $25 when I pull up. " Are you guys still open? " "Yes, what can we do for you?" " Oh great! I just got a screw in my back tire but I need to get it out right now and I have to be somewhere very soon." " No problem. Come on, we take care of you!" That with a big welcoming stroke of the arm, motioning me to pull forward. "How much is it?" "$10." Heck yeah :) Service Technician asks me to drive up slowly and stop. He gets on the ground behind the tire with the screw and yanks it out. Then he pokes an awl-like tool into the hole and moves it around to make a clear circle opening. Following that, he inserts this red goo on red ribbon into the hole and pulls it out and with a razor cuts off the exterior remnants. Lastly, he adds air. He explains that other places, they take the wheel off and stuff and that just takes too long. This process is fast and the goo will fuse together as I keep driving. This whole experience took about 3 1/2 minutes and was $10 just like they said-no tax on top of that which was all the cash I had on me anyways-and from the other reviews I just read, they only accept cash. Obviously, I made it to my dinner plans on time, very happy, and amazed at how great, efficient, and affordable their service was and so grateful they kept later hours when everything else nearby and their competition were already closed for the day. Didn't even charge me! My car has an auto sensor thing so when it said to check my tire pressure, I was worried. Went to two other places first. Boyd's on Powell said they'd need to keep my car for awhile and I didn't have the time. Then Big O's because I thought it was Orozco's, and they pumped up my tires, but they said that my tires weren't treading properly so they wouldn't check them because of liability. Went to Orozco's, they checked my tires right away, and they did a thorough check, found no problems, so they didn't charge me a dime. Even gave me a pen and keychain. I visited Orozco's Tires for four new tires based on the excellent reviews on Yelp. While my first thought was to visit Goodyear or Big O or one of the other big chains, I saw horrible review after horrible review, so I decided to give a mom & pop establishment a try. I can honestly say that this was the best auto-related shopping experience to date. As I pulled up, I was greeted by Victor, who walked over to my car and right off the bat explained the several choices I had. While the tires that I decided on were not in stock, Victor said he could have them there by 4pm and could have them on my car in 20 mins. I came back at 4pm sharp, the tires were there as promised, and they got to work on my car right away. Though Victor told me it would take 20 minutes, it probably took closer to 10... since when I got back they had long since been finished with my car. I've never had such quick and efficient service in my life. On top of it all, my tires are guaranteed for 40k miles, and come with free tire rotations and free repairs for the life of the tires. Who does that anymore?! If you're looking for a no-nonsense place that is friendly, will give you a quote, and stick to that quote with no surprises or hidden charges, this is your place. As others have said, the exterior of the building lacks curb appeal, but don't let that deter you. The service is top-notch, and very affordable compared to quotes from some of the bigger companies. The place may look grimey but like others have said this place is honest and fast. I came here because I apparently had a leak on a tire so I stopped by Orozco's since the reviews were all great. They checked out the tire that was suppose to be leaking and told me they didn't find anything so they offered to check the other rear tire and again couldn't find anything. Whats even better is that they didn't even charge me for checking and even thanked me for being patient. Definitely glad I decided to stop by instead of going to Big-O tires who gave me the run-around earlier in the afternoon. read more

It was my first time replacing tires on my mazda. After the shocking price quote from mazda dealership, I yelped and landed at Orozco's. Yelpers are correct, this place is awesome. The owner gave me a quick quote on a set of tires and asked me to come back in 20 min. I came back but saw that my car was tire-less! The owner apologized and explained that he made mistake in inventory and he only had 3 tires rather than 4 as he had told me. However, he said he will give me 4 new tires of a more expensive brand for the same price! He asked me to come back again in 20 min. So I abode, and this time the car was adorned with new tires. Orozco's gave me an additional discount for making me come back twice!! Super service. The one drawback of this place is the loud noises in the shop where the mechanics are working. It is next to impossible to hear anything they say. read more

These guys were like a pit crew. I drove into the establishment, asked if I needed to change the tires since I needed to drive back home to LA for Thanksgiving. They said I needed all 4 changed, which was expected since they tires were old. He said there were some generic brand for $95 or some Toyo's that just came in (literally saw them unload them off a truck) and that they would be $125, I just took them. In 20 min, everything was done and my car felt great. Upon further investigation, the mark up of the Toyo tires was appx $20, which isn't too bad imho since you gotta make money, but their ridiculously fast service way made up for the difference. I put on my spare, drove over and the guys took care of the flat and put my tire back on and took the spare off all in about 15 min. I went and grabbed a coffee and came back done. I wanted a simple tire check before a long road trip. I ended up paying $25 for unnecessary tire rotation and overfilled tires (by about 10-15 psi). I only know this bc my tire pressure light came on mid-trip (due to overfill) and I was fortunately able to find a legitimate place (America's Tire Store) that checked them again for free. Older gentleman who owns the place seems very nice and I did trust him initially but will not be a repeat customer. read more

Super quick service. Had a flat tire in the trunk of my car that needed to be patched. I just drove up and they checked to see if my tire could be patched (thankfully it could). By the time I went down to the ATM a block away and back, they had patched my tire, put it back on my car, and placed my spare tire back in my trunk.
