Orrico's Italian Restaurant is always a pleasure-- between food and service, I can't decide which one is better. I am delighted to announce that I have finally tried the neighborhood-famous short rib egg rolls. As much as I wanted to get another order to go, I decided to be nice and save them for others to try. Next time I am totally getting one to-go so that I can extend the magical experience. They run them as a special often since they're so popular, if they have them-- get them. Orrico had awesome specials going on but I was in the mood for comfort classics. They still uphold, in my opinion, the BEST chicken parm in the neighborhood. The chicken is not dried out, the texture is perfect and the sauce to cheese ratio is on point. We also ordered the sole franchese. That dish is so light, fresh and classic. Last but certainly not least, the short rib egg rolls are just so good. Fried perfectly but not oily, the tender shortrib, the awesome cheese pull, the rich brown gravy. Truly, a masterful creation. I always knew that service and food were great but what I didnt know was that they are also mixologist! Usually I would just get wine but every table around me were ordering martinis and they looked great so I ordered a classic dirty. Perfect amount of olive brine and nicely balanced. Everytime we go visit we leave with leftovers and I still have the feeling of looking forward to my next visit. In our neighborhood they are a diamond-- great establishment. I had such a lovely experience at this restaurant! The server was fantastic, and the atmosphere was cozy and laid-back. My daughter absolutely enjoyed the meatballs, and my man was thrilled with the steak and shrimp. Forgot to take a picture of all of it because we were hungry friend !The Veal Marsala was bursting with flavor and had just the right amount of sauce! The food was delicious! I been looking for a restaurant in the neighborhood with some amazing chicken parm and orricos definitely was that place! Its been a while since i got a nice size, thin, large cutlet. The penne vodka was also great! U can add it as a side for $7 extra. My husband got the tortellini nonni which is cheese tortellini in a creamy sauce with peas and mushrooms. It was exceptional! I order from orricos often and i wont stop! Wonderful dinner, awesome family staff! I sat at the bar, having a proper dirty martinis with my meal. I started with eggplant rolotini that was stuffed perfectly with spinach and ricotta. For dinner, the bartender recommended the rigatoni orrico which was a mix of bolognese and Alfredo, it was so tasty and a huge serving. It's very disappointing when my family loves this restaurant but they allow people to have their cellphones on speaker. It's okay to take a call but to have it on speaker and no one says anything. There were a group of guys and one was on face time for 1/2 an hour. The other time there was a man with his phone on speaker as if he were in his living room. Another time, one of the workers was viewing a game on his cellphone and the volume was way high. It's ridiculous. The food is great but they need better rules to make dining comfortable for their customers. It used to be a classy restaurant. Please make it a policy to not allow people to be on speakerphone and please have better rules to make dining pleasant. Thank you. read more

A stone's throw from the Buhre Ave. 6 train line, Orrico's is a warm and authentic Italian restaurant in the Pelham Bay Area which might (or might not) be easily missed due to where it sits on - but it shouldn't be. I can't take credit for knowing about Orrico's. Actually, a dear coworker of mine had said great things about this place several months ago. Even though chairs are up during the pandemic, the inside has nice bones and it's low-key without being pretentious. I'm really not sure what's Orrico's highlight. All I wanted was something quick and got two Spinach salads with grilled shrimp on mine and grilled chicken for my mom. But they do offer fusilli, gnocchi, orecchiette pasta dishes on the menu too which are well worth a gander. The price tag wasn't cheap- nor hefty. I may have wanted maybe two more shrimp in my salad to at least make up for that price. Service though, was pleasant from my guy Vincent (?). I placed my order by phone and salads were prepped within 15 minutes time. I don't mind stopping here next time and trying some of their Italian main contenders on the menu that actually sound mouth-watering. read more

However, went on Sunday about 4:45pm and it was so busy it delayed our meal quite a bit They definitely need one person dedicated for take outs and not one of the servers. A 45 minute drive from Paramus NJ and well worth the trip! The atmosphere, the ladies, the chef are all warm, friendly and welcoming. Everyone makes an effort to make you feel like family. They definitely know how to mix drinks which is always a plus in my book. The food was delicious from the broccoli rabe egg rolls to the mussels the the Caesar salad. The gem of course was the dinner veal valdostana and veal parmigiana...YUM!!! Our meal was topped off with pistachio tartufo. We had our Gaelic and Garlic Society ( Cardinal Spellman HS class of 1973) semi annual get together this past spring. Our classmate Donny Orrico is a cousin to the owner so he set up the whole dinner. It was so great that we scheduled another get together in late October. We started with around five different but equally delicious appetizers including clams oreganato, eggplant rolls Tini, Italian egg rolls, and clams posillipo. Then two different pastas. Then multiple entries including chicken, veal and shrimp dishes. Everything was family style so we tasted all of the delicious food. After that the desserts came out! So the hour trip from northern Westchester down to the Bronx was definitely worth it. ToniAnn and her staff, plus her amazing husband the chef (sorry, didn't get his name) made this meal memorable. Five friends for dinner and no one complained. Rice balls like mom made. Clams and calamari delicious. We had stuffed filet of sole, sole oreganata and cavatelli in a ragu. So glad the wife got a gift certificate for this place. The food is delicious. We had fried calamari for an appetizer, it was so tender and tasty and the slices of cherry peppers are the perfect compliment. For the main course I had the chicken parmigiana with penne with vodka sauce. The gravy on the chicken parm was delicious. And while the vodka sauce was pretty good it had a little too much sauce on the dish (my only complaint). Wife had the chicken Francese, which wasn't on the menu, but they gladly made it for her. We decided to stay in the neighborhood tonight. I have had this book marked since they opened. The decor is very nice. Classy, with the covers over the chairs. We walked in, they were pretty busy. The waitress asked if we had a reservation? We said no, but she seated us. The menu had lots of goodies on it. We started off with a red and white Sangria. That was probably the best Sangria I ever had. We ordered the baked clams, which were delicious. I wanted to drink the juice! I went with the special of the Chicken Sorrentino. It was excellent. My husband had the Chicken Valdestano. We had the dessert recommended by the waitress which was the pistachio tartufo. It was very good. The service was excellent.
