I finally decided to look around for an orthodontist that was good. I am so glad I was referred to Dr. Dopazo. I was interested in learning about my eligibility for Invisalign and I was given a free consultation! Whoo hoo. I was really fortunate to get an appoint not to long after I called in so that was also amazing. The location of the office is in the San Marco area, which is super convenient for me. There is ample parking on premises. The staff was wearing masks and they had Covid-19 precautions like hand sanitizer out for patient use. I was helped by two wonderful women, Stephanie and Sara. They made me feel comfortable as they took several shots of my teeth from various angles and then took x-rays. When Dr. Dopazo came in to chat with me she wasn't in a hurry and took time to answer my questions and concerns. I absolutely dislike doctors that are in a hurry to get me out and don't have that bedside manner that is so important. Dr. Dopazo exudes empathy and care, which makes me happy I chose to come in. In the end I wasn't a candidate for Invisalign, but the staff and Dr. Dopazo walked me through next steps. I am not sure yet if I will be back, but I do know that I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this office for your orthodontic needs. You won't regret it.

Instead, they repaired it in just 45 minutes--with absolutely no pain and without needing any numbing shots. The tooth feels exactly like my original molar. You'd never know it had been chipped. I've been a patient since the previous owners, whom we absolutely loved, so I was a little nervous when the practice changed hands. Thankfully, the transition has been seamless. The current owner and team have maintained the same exceptional level of care, professionalism, and kindness. It honestly feels like my longtime dentist never left. Unfortunately, the guy in charge is a magaT and if he finds out that you are not part of the IQ45 cult, he will treat you rudely. He started working on my child while I was having my teeth cleaned but then I could hear them screaming in pain so I hopped up and he just casually said, "oh, we were out of gas". Now my kid has had dental issues for the past 10 years and it is like pulling teeth to get them to go. (pun intended)

I had visited a mall dentist when I first moved to town, and suddenly I had two cavities and had been grinding my teeth. After one time getting the fillings I was left with extreme sensitivity to temperatures. After the SECOND time I still had issues. Know what the mall dentist said? That I needed root canals! Imagine! From suddenly-appearing and non-issue "cavities" to root canals within 6 weeks! I was not believing my ears and so I wanted another dentist, happened to be at another doctor and asked. So I explained my concerns to Dr. Salko and he asked if he could try to redo the fillings. As he was grinding away the hack-job from the prior dentist, Dr. Salko was verbally amazed at how poorly the other dentist's technique was. The fillings were those composite jobbers and require proper technique, otherwise issues arise like mine. 18 years later, I never had the root canals and have not had a problem since. Oh - I also don't grind my teeth (there is no evidence that I do), so the mall dentist was enriching his own pocket with that one. Since this work 18 years ago, my twice-a-year time with Dr. Salko consists of him wearing his microscopic glasses, poking around a couple places, and telling me that my teeth are looking great.

They are professional and knowledgeable. I feel like so many people complain of dentists taking them for a ride. I have nothing but the utmost confidence and trust in this practice. I know if he tells me I need something done, then it's legit and not for $$$ They are closed on Fridays. He's the only dentist at the practice so scheduling can get a bit tight. They definitely try to accommodate as best they can.

But I go for cleanings every 3 months. I have been to 5 cleanings so far with this office and EACH TIME there is a different hygienist doing my cleaning, and most of them I did not feel was a good cleaning. If I wanted to have a different person cleaning my teeth each time, I would go to the DDS school and be a practice for a student. Thats what I felt like each of my cleanings were. Moving here from Palm Beach County Florida and trying to find all new everything from Doctors, to DDS etc was huge. I became concerned after the 3 visit noticing all new people, but now it is the 5th and final time. I have a new DDS lined up already. My old DDS down south I went to for 8 years and only 1 change in hygienists. Not sure why this office has a revolving door of hygienists. Also they billed me for the cleaning AND a $10. PPO ADJUSTMENT? I mailed them a check for the cleaning, but not sure why they are adding on any adjustments. Watch your bills carefully.

Ha!…read more I have been looking for a practice where the doctor puts his patient first and isn't worried about a checklist that needs to be completed before your personal needs are addressed (e.g. compound billing charges) and boy did I find him! Not only is Dr Tapnio all about his patients but he is also very comical, which I really loved. His staff is also top notch, including receptionist and Becky (Dental Hygienist). Becky was full of knowledge and super sweet, I was lucky to have been assigned to her and look forward to seeing her again. I also love how when you walk into the office it has an aromatic smell, which is relaxing, and can be nice especially if you are someone who gets nervous about doctor visits. The smell possibly comes from the extremely healthy living plants along the walls and table stands. I would highly recommend anyone needing a dentist or looking for a dentistry you can trust, PLEASE go by Beacon Dentistry!!
