This visit was pink pineapple sunrise and last time in the winter it smelled like flannel weather. That along with beautiful furniture, recently painted calm grey walls, and even designer mirrors, all add to the vibe that this isn't some outdated office. Things like gloves and protective napkins are hot pink instead of white. And there is a legit good playlist of country music and easy going songs to help you relax. You might even get to catch an episode of shark week while your teeth get cleaned. The staff is very patient and takes their time to make sure they have quality work. The schedulers also are super helpful at following up to make sure you remember your appointments too! Showed up yesterday to my appointment and they tried to tell me that it was not at the time I had in my phone and when I told them it was the date and time I read back to them 6 months ago, she insinuated I was a liar and said she would never make if for that time because it's 30 minutes before lunch (their cleanings typically only take 30 minutes). Needless to say, they would not take me and expected me to take time off work to drive back out there another day. I asked them to have the doctor call me before the end of the day. He did not. I can only assume my family's money is not needed there so I guess we'll be giving it to another dentist that doesn't call its long-time patients liars.

They put me at ease then, and were not judgemental in the slightest, making me feel welcome and that they cared about my comfort. And they did a good job with what was needed in addition to the friendliness. Cut to a few years later, and they're just as welcoming and kind as they were then, too. Which I feel is particularly of note since between then and now, I've come out as trans and started living as the woman I've long wanted to be instead of the guy I spent most of my life stuck as. They didn't bat an eye at it when I let them know in my email, and when I showed up in the office, they were all smiles and already calling me by my preferred name and pronouns, even though I've not yet had a legal name change. I should have written a review back when I first visited their practice, but I'm definitely doing so now just in case others who might dread going to the dentist know that Kind Care is a very good choice where you don't have to worry about being nagged or berated.

So I called this morning. I told them I would be getting him at school at 2:30pm. They said I could call the after hours number (admin girl gave it to me) and they they would come up to the office and meet us for quick adjustments. It's Friday, so we really need this so he's not in pain all weekend. You know where this is going. The "emergency line" is just a voice mail that clearly no one is checking. I have left 3 voice mails and no reply at all. What's the use in an "emergency line" that isn't attended to?

I came in needing an emergency crown replacement before a big move, and they managed to scan, print, and seal my crown all in ONE day, plus squeeze me in for a cleaning. I was blown away. The clinic is spotless, modern, and welcoming. And they're open on weekends -- yes, Saturday AND Sunday! That kind of flexibility is rare and a huge lifesaver if you're in a pinch.
