As the receptionist reads me the date and time, I enter it into my phone and repeat it back for confirmation. Showed up yesterday to my appointment and they tried to tell me that it was not at the time I had in my phone and when I told them it was the date and time I read back to them 6 months ago, she insinuated I was a liar and said she would never make if for that time because it's 30 minutes before lunch (their cleanings typically only take 30 minutes). Needless to say, they would not take me and expected me to take time off work to drive back out there another day. I asked them to have the doctor call me before the end of the day. He did not. I can only assume my family's money is not needed there so I guess we'll be giving it to another dentist that doesn't call its long-time patients liars.

With an all female office, you immediately notice a difference when you walk in and it smells like the appropriate season. They always have a little candle burning. This visit was pink pineapple sunrise and last time in the winter it smelled like flannel weather. That along with beautiful furniture, recently painted calm grey walls, and even designer mirrors, all add to the vibe that this isn't some outdated office. Things like gloves and protective napkins are hot pink instead of white. And there is a legit good playlist of country music and easy going songs to help you relax. You might even get to catch an episode of shark week while your teeth get cleaned. The staff is very patient and takes their time to make sure they have quality work. The schedulers also are super helpful at following up to make sure you remember your appointments too! I feel lucky that I can be a patient here and don't dread going to the dentist with Point Meadows Dentistry.

Katie, the dental assistant, was very friendly and related to me because she had lost a retainer and told me some tips and tricks to prevent me from losing it again. The pricing was as affordable as it could be. Definitely the cheapest orthodontist office I've been to at the beach. I shopped around for a new permanent retainer and ended my journey here after I heard the price (almost a third of the price everyone else was looking for). Absolutely awful business, constantly have more issues after a visit than I did before, and seriously? Why does it take 4+ times of giving me a "temporary solution" before you discuss permanent solutions with someone? I will say the ladies are kind, which was the only thing that kept encouraging me to go back, but when I'm told "they'll figure it out with my insurance" and then get over charged constantly even when I clarify that I need out the door prices to budget, that is a deal breaker for me especially when I'm in pain but too scared to go in out of fear of how much they're going to randomly charge me next!

I finally decided to look around for an orthodontist that was good. I am so glad I was referred to Dr. Dopazo. I was interested in learning about my eligibility for Invisalign and I was given a free consultation! Whoo hoo. I was really fortunate to get an appoint not to long after I called in so that was also amazing. The location of the office is in the San Marco area, which is super convenient for me. There is ample parking on premises. The staff was wearing masks and they had Covid-19 precautions like hand sanitizer out for patient use. I was helped by two wonderful women, Stephanie and Sara. They made me feel comfortable as they took several shots of my teeth from various angles and then took x-rays. When Dr. Dopazo came in to chat with me she wasn't in a hurry and took time to answer my questions and concerns. I absolutely dislike doctors that are in a hurry to get me out and don't have that bedside manner that is so important. Dr. Dopazo exudes empathy and care, which makes me happy I chose to come in. In the end I wasn't a candidate for Invisalign, but the staff and Dr. Dopazo walked me through next steps.
