First time there, service was just ok, slow for the amount of people and staff. The food was average, had a Mediterranean Omelette but there wasn't a lot of egg?? My husband got a tiny pancake, on the pictures on YELP they were huge. He was asked if he wanted them to re-do it as the server noticed it was small. Came here for breakfast to try it out. Place is nice but a little warm at first. Our server greeted us promptly and was friendly and happy to answer any questions. The menu is HUGE (variety of Mexican and American) and quite intimidating and had me a bit nervous about food quality. Here's how it went. 1st: chips and salsa aren't free and were $3.99 but good and not sure if they are u limited as we didn't ask for more chips when finished. Agua Fresca Jamaica: 8/10 Size is decent for 4.99 and good Chilaquiles: 6/10 The menu price is 14.99 for chicken or carne asada and charged an extra 3.99 for chorizo (the store bought one) which was interesting as chorizo is cheaper than both. Also, the creama drizzled on top was an extra charge and only comes with one egg. An extra egg was (2.25) Sadly, The tortillas were cut into tiny squares and my eggs were over cooked. I asked for over easy and it they were over medium (I love the runny egg yolk). Our server didn't come back and check on us to ask how our food was until we were nearly done. They did get a rush of people so that attributed to our lack of service. Ortega omelet: 7/10 omelette was wayyyy overcooked. Comes with two sides of your choice and toast. read more

Kids enjoyed the pancakes and the bear face was a nice touch. Country fried steak and ham were both good. Saw the sign for Micheladas so will have to try some out next time. I think I also saw mimosas being taken to a couple tables. Everyone here was friendly and attentive but our server (unfortunately didn't catch her name) really took care of us. Our coffees stayed filled and when I asked for a cup to go, there was extra coffee poured in so that I had a full cup when I transferred what was in my mug. Starving in mid afternoon and having no knowledge of the city of Fontana, I stumble in this place. Clean, roomy and greeted with beautiful smile, what else can a hungry guy ask for. Instantly the chips and salsa appear and I'm telling you, I devoured them. Not only because I was hungry, but because they are delicious. Chips apparently are made fresh here daily. Menu is extensive. I was surprised at the quality and quantity of items. In the mood for a burrito, I ordered the burrito supreme. This thing is massive. Digging into it, had me thinking twice while being able to finish it. Let me tell you, in award, it was delicious. Ortega's recently opened in Fontana. I came in to give them a try and decided to go with a pastrami sandwich to go with Onion Rings instead of fries. The misses went with a Chile verde Gordita and an Asada Gordita. Let me tell you that this might be the 2nd best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. There's a place in LA you might of heard of, Langer's Deli, they're pretty good. But this pastrami sandwich here at Ortegas was absolutely delicious! You know the food is good when the food puts you in an even better mood. The misses really liked her food, she said I cam bring her those anytime. Our waiter was amazing, friendly and was very attentive to our needs without us having to ask for it. The ambiance is nice, simple but very nice. NIce people, pleasant atmosphere. This is our second time here- but our last. The food this time sub par. My food was cold, a bit salty. Veggie burrito- lettuce and diced tomato's? With rice and beans? Going back to Sergio's they have a veggie burrito with grilled broccoli, carrots, peppers, onions.... The other plate we ordered was basic, not dressed up as expected for restaurant food and the carnitas were soggy rather than with a crisp. How about cilantro that isn't yellowing, maybe a little more to the nachos than a little on top of the chips. It was a super nacho, but wasn't super unfortunately. The carnitas seemed steamed or left in a container for a while rather than prepped for the nachos hot and layered. Like I said -nice people BUT I would have liked to been offered a refund since I ate 2 bites and said it didn't taste good. We liked the food last time and thought this would be a place on our list to frequent but it won't be. Wish them the best because they are nice people but meh our second time. read more

I added Swiss cheese to kick it up a notch that being said it was fool of flavor plenty of pastrami ate only half Leftovers . So glad we tried this diner near our home. The breakfast was delicious. Large portions. Everyone who worked there was really nice and helpful. They ALL worked as a team. Different people came to check on us throughout our meal. We did not have to ask for anything. They automatically came back and offered more coffee and soda. We sat near the kitchen and overheard employees interacting with each other positively. They thanked each other and worked well together. Everyone was hustling. Restrooms and diner were immaculate too. They all went out of their way to be nice. So great to see that. Several employees thanked us on the way out. They brought it out with a mild and a hot salsa to choose from, both were good. He enjoyed his food and said it was great. I ordered the Avocado BLT on rye bread (they offer bread of your choice) hands down the best I've had. The bacon was nicely crispy. The Avocado, lettuce, and tomato were fresh. Rye bread was nicely warm and toasted and I chose a side of fries, the fries were freshly made and warm. They serve breakfast all day, I ordered a small stack of 2 blueberry pancakes to go for my daughter and she loved them! Pancakes were freshly made and huge. I ordered a bowl of their soup. It was huge! However, I barely touched it and had almost an entire bowl left. I asked for a to-go container and they said they'd pack it up for me and took my bowl away. When they brought it back, I could tell that whole bowl would not have fit in the container they packed it in. There was several pieces of meat and potatoes along with other veggies when I asked for the container.... So once home I put it in a pot to see if all the meat and veggies were there and they were NOT! They only put in one piece of meat and one potato! We checked out the spot because we used to come here when it was a little taco shop. You have to come to this place because the menu is so full of amazing options. We came for breakfast.
