As a treat to myself, instead of keeping my 2 year old mattress after moving , I thought to purchase a really good mattress. So, I googled mattresses and found a few Memorial Day sales. I entered the Ortho store and was greeted by Emanuel. I informed him that because I have scoliosis I would need a firm full size mattress as well as a box spring and frame delivered to my new address ASAP.. He suggested the Club I and said it was the best mattress for the price. I was relieved at the effortless transaction and I received the mattress within 2 days at about 5pm. Unfortunately the delivery persons proceeded to take the plastic off the mattress ignoring my delivery instructions, but that was not the worst problem. This mattress has a sink hole in the center and I reported it directly to Emmanuel the next day after work in person(the worst night's sleep ever!!). Emmanuel told me that I needed to sleep on the mattress for at least 30 days to give it time. I tried to reframe the situation for Emmanuel to get my point across that continuing to sleep on a defective mattress that sinks in is harming my back and it would only get worse as time passes, this mattress is not firm in the center. Emmanuel told me that I needed an extra extra firm bed and upsold me for about an additional $600. After leaving I realized he took advantage of me and after another night's sleep on the sink hole, I returned to Emmanuel the following day after work to request to refund all of my money and pick up the mattress because it is defective, that I do not want to upgrade. Emmanuel cancelled the upgrade and said that "the system will not allow him to accommodate my request for at least 30 days". I left feeling unheard and frustrated again and called a few 800 #'s and left messages for a manager to call me. The next day after not hearing back from anyone, I returned to Ortho again, but encountered Daniel who advised me to call Linda. I called Linda and left a message. Linda returned my call the following afternoon and scolded me for going over her head and said now "you have tied my hands because you went over my head". Linda was condescending and stated that she doubted the mattress is defective, I informed her that I have pictures and to just have the manager call me, she proceeded to scold me and after I finally hung up realizing that I did not need to take her abuse she actually called me back and stated that the mattress I purchased, the Club I is a child's mattress, that she will not honor a return for comfort preferences and that I am probably a "big girl". It was clear to me that Linda and the staff had discussed my weight and decided to deflect responsibility onto me by humiliating and bullying me into keeping this defective mattress. I told Linda that I would not allow her to speak to me this way and that I was hanging up. Linda continued to call me back to apologize but only stated "we both said things". I informed Linda that I would accept a replacement mattress but I still wanted to speak to a manager, just like Emmanuel, she refused to allow me to actually "go over her head". This is a nightmare, and I want Ortho to pick this mattress up and give me a full refund. I will Never to deal with Ortho again. read more

I finally went in for an upgrade on a mattress after years of sleeping on a twin bed! Luckily I came in and was assisted by Yolanda, who gave me great feedback on all my choices. She asked my preference between firm or plush and gave me great suggestions on which mattress would suit my liking. She encouraged me to try numerous mattresses and compare the feel. I came in on Sunday 10/15 to look for a new bed for my new apartment. Their Columbus Day sale was extended which is awesome because I thought I missed one of the best sales to buy a mattress. Emmanuel helped me pick out a bed within my price range and did not try to convince me to go out of budget for his own personal gain. He was very knowledgeable and gave me a great option of putting a deposit down to hold the sale price, since I do not have my move in date yet.
