Michael is amazing! He helped us while filling in at the Brea store and was a wealth of information. He did his job well but was not salesy and really wanted to help us. He gave us his card that day. We did end up purchasing a replacement mattress later but not from him. Fast forward months later....we moved to another state and our adjustable bed remote was a casualty of the move. I thought we could get it replaced easily by contacting the Brea store. To make a long story short, this was not the case.​ Sadly, we got the run around from everyone at that location....we found Michael's card and emailed him directly. He had the new remote ordered and on its way to us within 48 hours. I have not experienced customer service like this before! Give this man a raise and promote him asap. Waking up with a stiff or sore back after getting up in the mornings were clear signs that it was time for a new mattress. Sadly, I was so lazy and kept pushing off on buying a new mattress that it has taken a toll on my back. We started looking at mattresses a year ago and I was reluctant on buying a memory foam due to the heat retention characteristics. I've must've walked past Custom Comfort Mattress more than 100x over the past year and never noticed it. Decided to head here today and Angelique greeted us as we walked in. After letting her know the type of mattress we wanted we were able to narrow it down between two. Loved the fact that we were able to customize our mattress and foundation. Came here hoping to find a new mattress. Was greeted by a friendly associate Angelique. After listening to what our needs were she recommended the Legacy and the Retreat. We slept on the two and I immediately fell in love with the Legacy. There was a 8x8 in the show room and I wished that fit into our room. Angelique is very knowledgeable. She went through explaining how our Legacy has 8 layers, 4 on each side. Instead of just rotating the mattress these require flipping them over. I loved her demo and was able to see what is in the mattress. It was perfect how we can customize it so my husband will be on a box spring and me on a solid. I bought a Custom Comfort Mattress (CCM) about 35 years ago and it has been the BEST mattress ever. The only reason I wanted a new one is because I wanted an adjustable bed. I thought about checking around for different brands and thought, " Why would I look to another brand when my mattress was still great after this amount of time?" I went straight to CCM where I met Roland Trudell (one of the owners) and Nina. Roland showed me the mattress of my dreams and I bought it the same day. I probably paid more than I would have at another bed company but the quality would not have been there and in 10 years had to buy another one. i fully expect this bed to last another 35 years! Not only do they have a superior product, but their staff and delivery people are first class. I highly recommend this company and their product. We recently bought the freedom model here. Everything was great. Michael and Angelique were both very helpful. As soon as I tested the freedom model I knew that was the one. Nice firm support for people witth back issues.The thing I like was they didn't push you either. They let you relax and try out different beds. We also ordered the mattress protector and a pillow and was given some free things like a pillow and Chris sent us the zippered mattress encasement. What a deal! The delivery people showed up on time and were quick and well trained. Set up was fast! Wonderful people to work with. All of them. I wouldn't go anywhere else. And the prices are great. We just bought our second set of mattress from Custom Comfort Mattress Company at the Pasadena location. This location opened a few months ago. We went all the way down to Orange County to purchase our first mattress set 11 years ago (from the SFV). We are very happy with our mattress purchase. The mattress is very comfortable. Custom Comfort mattress costs a little more than your typical mattress but it was well worth it. I understand they manufacture their own mattresses in house. We liked the quality and workmanship of their mattress. The price of the mattress includes cost for local delivery which was nice. So many times when you go to a regular mattress store the delivery charge is on top of the mattress cost. Our shopping experience was very pleasant. The salesperson did not pressure talk us into buying a mattress. This company has a set price for each particular mattress model. They allowed us to test several mattresses to see which one we liked. I liked that they even provided us with a pillow for us to lie on while we were testing out the mattresses. I liked that they gave us a two hour window for delivery of the mattress, which was very convenient. They delivered the mattress during the 2 hour time window. They took our old mattress away, which saves us the hassle of getting rid of the old mattress. The delivery people were very friendly. We'll be back again in the future when we need a new mattress! read more

Our old Englander mattress was less than a year old and within 7 months, it was bowing tremendously. At night, my poor husband would say, "Ok, sweetie, let's crawl into our holes now." Yes, it was pretty bad. I had heard Custom Comfort mattress commercials on the radio before and known one gal who had a queen mattress. I knew that they were assembled in Orange County and that it was a family business going strong for a couple decades. Call me a sucker, but the radio ad got me! I called CCM in Pasadena because it was a newer store. The manager was very friendly, took the time to listen to what I was looking for me, and invited us in. We were greeted by Art Diaz. Their sales associates learn extensively about their products during training. He was not short on knowledge, patience or manners. Thank you, Art! They gave us fresh pillows, encouraged us to lounge around, discuss, flop around on various beds, etc. And trust me, after our Englander disaster, did we ever! Art and Mel both suggested we give it some thought and return a second time. We did that, and then returned a third. By the third visit, we couldn't shake the combo of a very basic mattress topped with their eco topper. We also got the mattress box. They gave us a discount because we chose to get a floor sample. The whole thing wasn't cheap (around $2400 for king sized), but it has eliminated: -muscle pain -back aches -lack of energy/focus (which I didn't even know was going on!) -allergens (eco friendly topper! organic latex!) We got our mattress set in November 2010. Half a year later, we've vacationed in nice hotels, B&Bs, even our beloved childhood beds (c'mon, you know you do it when you're back at the folks' place during the holidays, right?), but nothing - nothing- beats our CC mattress. I wandered into Custom Comfort on Saturday (when the annual holiday event on South Lake was taking place). I was on a silly scavenger hunt for the holiday event and went in to get a sticker for the hunt.... I wasn't planning to shop - but, I definitely found my next mattress! I was immediately impressed with their showroom. Very clean, nicely laid out (not stacked with mattresses like other showrooms). I asked a couple questions about the mattresses and one of the salesman, Justin, began telling me about the company. As my questions turned into more questions.... I was so impressed with everything I learned. Justin was BY FAR the most helpful sales person I've encountered in what seems like forever. He wasn't pushy... knew info about the product... wasn't overbearing... gave the perfect amount of info without it being overwhelming... and none of that 'are you going to buy/are you wasting my time' type pressure you typically feel from salespeople. He let us explore, find the mattress that worked best for us, informed us on prices, answered all our questions and even showed us their incredible mattress protectors and bamboo cotton sheets... I loved everything about my experience and would recommend this store (and especially Justin) in a heart-beat! It's not cheap, but I have no doubt, this is a top-notch, quality mattress and the other products seem to follow suit. I liked the fact their were straightforward with how they make their various beds (unlike when you go to regular mattress showrooms and they have a 'Sealy' but it's a different named mattress than the next store, yet is basically the same thing). It definitely took the confusion out of mattress buying! The one we fell in love with was just shy of 6K for a king sized mattress. OUCH. But, totally worth every penny, IMO. The only downside to my visit to Custom Comfort is now I HATE my current mattress and every time I lay down, I wish I was laying on that Custom Comfort mattress!! WOW! I walked into the store and immediately was greeted by Justin! Not only did I get the sense that he was completely genuine I also could tell he wanted to help me stay within my budget! I appreciated this and I'm thrilled with the mattress he helped me select! I don't think I can add much to what others have said. Our experience was equally good. I went in after spending a couple of hours at Macy's laying around, trying to find that perfect mattress. The sales guy, as nice and unique in fashion as he was, wasn't too helpful as he could only tell me the coil count of each bed and that more coils means more comfort. Fast forward to Custom Comfort Mattress, and what a difference. I did not feel pressured at all to buy a particular mattress, or to buy the more expensive mattress. I was given a very cool demonstration of how their mattresses are made. Who knew there were mattresses that you could still flip over! Their patience and willingness to share information and give me time to decide led to my finding the right mattress for me. It was delivered the next day promptly in the morning. The delivery guys were great. They were quick and customer service-oriented. I enjoyed a two-hour mid-day nap on my new mattress, and I was looking forward to nighttime so that I could sleep in my new mattress again. (Nerdy, I know). The bed I got was what they label, 2.0. It is in between firm and soft. It has a solid layer of latex on the top and bottom, and a foam core. It's hard to explain the comfort of this bed - it has a soft, cushy feeling but a firmness to its foundation. Also, I run hot when I sleep. And as they promised, the mattress does not trap the heat and I can actually sleep under my blankets now. Great service, good product. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

It's been 13 months (03/03/2018) since my "Refresh 3.0" Custom Comfort Mattress (no mattress topper) was delivered, installed, and I had my 1st night's sleep on it. That night: full deep sleep, dreams remembered, refreshed and relaxed the following morning! Thought I'd wait to see if it was just a fluke or how long before I stopped recalling the dreams and feeling great the next day. Since the first night I've had stressful nights causing trouble getting to sleep, shorter sleep, and maybe tired from other causes...but the recalled dreams have occurred each night that I've slept on my Custom Comfort Mattress. Over the same period I've slept on other beds and noticed that although they were comfortable, they didn't guarantee dream sleep. For me, I feel that if I can dream (even the "crazy" nightmare ones that scare me awake) then I've reached stages of dream as well as deep sleep. That being said, I chose this maker because they make the tried and true double-sided mattress with a separate box frame. In essence you can actually rotate as well as flip over the mattress to get a more even wear while "shifting" the filling of that slept-in portion that develops into a hammock feel you get from the more common brands available today. Read up on why mattress manufacturers prefer to make the one-sided mattress, yet your paying practically the same price. My showroom visit was great after doing my online shopping to know exactly which of their mattresses fit my sleep preferences and budget. Michael was a patient and no-pressure salesperson who made it easy for me to purchase on the same trip. I also picked up one of their pillows in a medium firmness (they warned me the firm was really firm) and it's a perfect addition to my nightly retreat. Don't know if they still email a custom-made video from the Company's owner, but it was a great added touch to their great customer service. If you decide to visit them, give them the courtesy of allowing plenty of time for you to really try out and sample their different mattresses. read more

I rarely write reviews. Actually, this is my first review on yelp. I've bought a latex mattress from Custom Comfort about 10 years ago in the Fullerton branch and it is still firm and good. What spur this visit to custom comfort? We decided to upgrade to a King size and keep the queen for guest. Entering the store, completely different than the warehouse I bought my mattress 10 years ago. It is more elegant and I was greeted by Chris Brady. After a few minutes of chatting, we reminisced on my old mattress and they offer tons of new lines and products. Also, found out Chris started with the company about the same time I bought my mattress 10 years ago. With lower back-pain and high temps while sleeping at night, I opted for firm pure latex (just like my current queen mattress). As we were trying out the beds, Chris showed us the adjustable lines that they offer. My girlfriend and I instantly fell in love with the S7 that has fully adjustable and massaging feature. I would highly recommend everyone checking this place out. We're kinda sad, since we bought our King bed frame, we couldn't buy their 8ft x 8ft bed. YES!! That bed is huge! They offer more than just latex mattresses, it's definitely worth a trip just to visit the store. read more

Great first impression. We needed a new mattress and our last one hadn't lasted nearly as long as it should, so we checked this place out. No it's not cheap but mattresses are expensive, right? They make the mattresses right here in so cal and looks like it's a family business, which I liked a lot. Anyway the sales people are very knowledgable and don't work on commission so it makes the experience much more pleasant and - no bargaining. Wow!! Pasadena keeps getting better and better. I recently moved to Pasadena about a month ago and the people and businesses here have been the absolute best. Including this place. I stopped by because of an activity that took place on Lake Street. They were giving away free pillows for the festivities. However, by the time I got there, they were completely out. The guys working (Great customer service) had me jot down my name and number and would call when they had them again. I just knew they would forget but I was wrong. They called me this week to pick them up. I not only got one pillow but TWO! Although I didn't buy anything from the store, they still delivered on a promise. Well, I just got a new Shiffman mattress. OMG it is amazing. The Inspire Latex mattress from Custom Comfort it replaced was dated Aug 2014. For the money I spent and the pain I endured sleeping on it, it by far was the worst. I had previously owned a latex mattress from them and it was amazing, but this one was a lesser quality. The delivery guys who just removed it from my house called it a taco because it was so spongy and folded in half. It was a King size too. read more

I was helped by Michael, who is a credit to his profession. It was a very non-pressure experience buying three mattresses. Michael carefully explained each of my choices, what I was getting for my money, etc. And there was none of that implied message that if you are looking to save money or don't want to be upsold, you're some kind of tightwad. That said, their prices are not low. On the other hand, with mattresses, you get what you pay for. I was there to replace mattresses that I had bought at another store for less money, and what was delivered wasn't what I had been shown in the showroom. I wish I had taken those mattresses back to the original store within the refund period, but I didn't. Better yet, I should have gone to Custom Comfort in the first place. read more
