I love my spine/pain Dr. - Dr. Christopher Alexander. Very professional and helpful. Dr. Alexander added dry needling to my order, along with traditional PT. The problem I have is with the Physical Therapy office down the hall. They have a policy that they don't bill your insurance for dry needling, whether the doctor orders it or no. This is very strange, because if your insurance covers it (mine does) and if the doctor orders it (he did), they shouldn't make you pay out of pocket. I also called United Healthcare and they told me that I should be billed out of pocket. I am not planning to return to them. I was seeing a different PT last year and they were much more generous with dry needling and I did not have to pay out of pocket. They billed my insurance along with the other PT I received. I never paid more than the co-pay. Piedmont Hospital needs to look into this and update their policy. read more

I was trying to find Piedmont Orthopedics at their Brookhaven location. I went into the space that had "OrthoAtlanta/ Piedmont Orthopedics" on the door. I asked the receptionist to give me directions to the correct suite. I guess she was having a bad day, because she was rude, condescending and snarky in her response. Whatever her problem is, she shouldn't be interfacing with patients if she can't be at least somewhat cordial. read more

if I could do -0-, I would. they should not call themselves PTs. that's an insult to real ones. they (Brent) held me back 3 months of improvement from sciatica joint fusion. never identified the problem. I am in the process of having them removed from being covered through my insurance. it's fraud. DO NOT DO IT. go to any other place, especially not the Johns Creek location. please do your research before going here. you will NOT improve and will be highly disappointed once you go to a real PT. I will split my review on 3 parts: Surgery, Reeducation, MRI Surgery: Had a surgery with them 3 years ago, Excellent work and was pleased with the Surgeon. Now it is bothering me again, the surgeon is no longer there so I have another one (Dr Smith), in his bio he says he loves to communicate and explain, I disagree, was not clear in his explanation and said different things on 2 different meeting. Reeducation: Went there for my feet, asked them insurance question (how many sessions are covered), they told me they will tell me after I start. Went to another therapy center who actually checked with the insurance and told me up front. MRI: Had an appointment at 8:45, they asked me to come at 8:15, which I did. at 9:00 still waiting, asked them, told me it might take 10 more minutes. Is there a point to make me wait almost an hour ? Went to another MRI, they took me immediately. read more

OrthoAtlanta Piedmont is outstanding. I went and saw Dr. Littleton, the newest doctor there, for a shoulder issue. They were effecient, very little wait time, and friendly. Dr. Littleton was super knowledgeable about upper extremity medicine, and had a great personality. They did x-rays, and gave me my injection all in the same visit. I had a follow-up that was equally quick and efficient. They also have a very good Patient Portal. The only issue is they don't validate parking. But that is not a huge deal. read more

Had a good first visit and then a good surgery. When it came time to get stiches out had a hard time getting in and then when I had an appointment they called me 1 1/2 hours before appointment to let me know Dr. Dalal was running about 1 1/2 hours behind but I still needed to be there on time. An hour before appointment they called and said he is now 2 hours behind but I could reschedule or be there at the original time or I would be charged a no show fee. I said this was insane but I guess it is because the doctor is so much more important than me. She said yes! I canceled the appointment and will not be going back to them. They are all about their convenience and profit and that is not in my best interest. read more

I haven't had surgery yet but Dr Mathers will probably do it. I already knew my knee was shot so I discussed the options with him. He gave me a lot to think about (oh, and a steroid injection). This is a review of the OrthoAtlanta clinic on Howell mill. I have been here 5 times and not once have they run on time despite me scheduling early appointment times so I can get to work on time. How can you run a half hour late 20 minutes in to your day??? Staff not overly friendly either. If my business ran this way I'd be out of business. read more

I injured my shoulder in a bicycle accident and was able to call and make an appointment the same day without any problem. I met with Dr. Mathers and found him to be extremely friendly. I left the office feeling confident that I understood everything about my injury and what steps were to come on my road to recovery. read more

The staff taking calls doesn't really know what the office does. Also, it takes a long time to even get an appointment. Call backs from staff also take a few days. Make sure you call the everyday or nobody will call you back! read more

OrthoAtlanta Piedmont has been so incredibly helpful and supportive of my recovery. My doctors (Rodriquez and ) were very receptive to my concerns and fears about treatment and worked with me to come up with a collaborative treatment plan. I've been doing physical therapy with Michelle C since about January for multiple issues. Michelle's positivity and compassion is always so comforting. She encourages and challenges me. Despite how trying it can be to work through and injury mentally and physically, I always look forward to my appointments with Michelle. Michelle is so knowledgeable and responsive to pain and unexpected needs. The music in the gym keeps me energized and moving. Thank you so much Michelle! I must give much, much praise and recognition to my Physical Therapist, Michelle Camarata, PT, MHA, CERT MDT. Michelle is compassionate, knowledgable, intuitive, attentive, and gives me the drive that I need to come back from my injury sooner rather than later. Being a former Olympic gymnast, Michelle understands what it takes for me, an older professional dancer to rehab a complete Achilles rupture and repair. We speak the same language. What other therapist would know how hard to push me or what relevé in second position plié means. I tore my Achilles in dance class and Dr. Felix Rodriguez performed my surgery in July. People may not realize this but dancers are true athletes, and the same injuries that happen to other professional athletes, i.e. football, basketball, baseball, etc., happen to dancers as well. This is not my first injury so I've had a lot of experience with different trainers and therapists. Michelle and I clicked from the beginning which is extremely important when recovering from a serious injury like mine. With Michelle's coaching and guidance I am well on my way to complete recovery and returning to dance in December. I just can't say enough great things about her. She is the absolute best, hands down. If you are an athlete and are serious about returning to your sport, I suggest you go see Michelle Camarata. If I could rate 0, I would. My father broke his foot and needed post op care. Called, made appt for next day, they called back saying insurance was a problem. After hand walking THEM through the insurance needs over the course of 2 weeks, they want to put his appt off ANOTHER week. Left several messages for the office manager, but can't get a call back. At this point we are 4 weeks after the surgery, 2 weeks AFTER when he should see someone and still no appointment. I'm calling Resurgeons. Nice to know they care about people. read more

I called today to make an appointment and the receptionist asked me was this a work injury and I told her yes 18 years ago! She states that she needs a letter from my employment and I advised her I am retired. I explained that my job back then retired me out due to this injury! and I received a retirement package which included my health insurance for he rest of my life. She continued to state that I needed a letter. SMH!! I mentioned that in the history of my injury no one has ever asked me for a letter from my employment and I stated also it was in another state, not GA. All I wanted was to get an examine for a knee brace. I wasn't asking for $100,000 Knee Surgery. She could of said well when you come in we will verify that your insurance will pay for our services. I was fed up with the hillbillie attitude and hung up! and proceeded to called another orthopedic. And guess what!! they didn't ask me for a letter and I was told to come in and fill out my paperwork online. read more
