We have had the best experience with Orthodontics by Crutchfield. Both of my kids have been getting treatment for braces. They are very kind and friendly and make the process very easy. Cinthya is outstanding with support. My son had a wire stuck in his gum at 8:15 PM and I texted and she came into the office to fix it. Not only did she fix it she made him feel so much better. Cinthya provided next level support most orthodontist's would not do. Everyone in the office is exceptionally nice. Dr. Crutchfield is very caring and always checks in at every visit. The plastic retainers and Invisalign type parts did not fit properly or had so many rough edges. They have caused cuts and sores on my touch and cheeks. I am only now realizing after so much ongoing pain that it didn't have to be this way. It was tough to get the fit right and have anything that didn't cause sharp rubbing or scraping. It gets tiring asking for adjustments over and over or returning for the problem. The pain has just worn me out. read more

I broke my retainer and was in need of a new one. After reading all the glowing reviews I called Dr Crutchfield's office an made an appointment. The appointment itself was fine. I told the tech why I was there... that I was in need of a new retainer. I mentioned that I felt as if my top teeth had shifted and was told perhaps alligners would be the way to go. They proceeded to scan my teeth and take pictures. Dr Crutchfield himself made a brief appearance... walking by to say hi and moving on quickly. At the end of my appointment the tech said she would call me to discuss a path forward regarding my treatment. That sounded perfectly reasonable. 3 weeks after my appointment I STILL hadn't received a call from them so I called them back inquiring if there had been an update. After being put on hold I was told that the tech... I believe Britney... was still discussing my treatment plan with Dr Crutchfield and would call me by the end of the week. 5 weeks after my appointment I STILL hadn't received a call back. 5 weeks! I called the office again but this time I didn't request an update. I let them know that if their goal was to make me feel like I didn't matter to them as a patient, then they succeeded. Clearly my treatment wasn't something they cared about. Not a good experience. I don't think I'm being unreasonable to expect someone to call me back... and I definitely think I was beyond patient. 5 weeks and not a single follow up from anyone. I'll be getting a second opinion from an office that doesn't leave patients hanging. read more

Horrible work place! High turn over. Awful experience. Driving an hour in traffic to a toxic environment. I always felt like an outsider and unwelcome from the first day. Anytime I would ask Dr. Crutchfield a question he would give me a nasty look or respond with an attitude and say something smart and out of pocket. He can be very unprofessional at times. Upon hiring me I was schedule to work 8am-5pm. The doctor knew I have a child that has to be picked up at 6pm and it's an hour commute and sometimes longer with traffic to get there on time. He would get pissed that I would leave at 5pm on the dot. I told the manger the things he would say to me and her response was "oh that's just how he is and he's not going to change". Very uncomfortable work place and hostile environment. He lets patients walk all over him and not pay their bills. Patients are quoted a treatment fee and the doctor is okay with patients not following the agreement and not paying the practice. He refuses to send patients to collections for past due balances because he's scared they are going to turn around and sue him. So employees are low balled on pay because the practice doesn't bring in enough money. The patients are rude and entitled. The doctor talks bad about all other doctors in the area and bad mouths all the difficult patients to us at 8am morning meetings. Who wants to start the day off like that? He doesn't know how to finish any treatment cases with braces. He makes everybody finish in aligners that he makes himself lol. A few technicians are rude and bullies to the other technicians too. When I was first hired, the girl who had quit who I was replacing told me she would not miss this place and was glad to be leaving. She was there less than a year. Everybody I was working with got hired around the same time as me or had been there less than a full year. That says a lot. I should have took that as a warning sign. As I started working there coworkers that started before me started telling me about 5-7 former employees that quit back to back and they had the same complaints as me and that was the reason why they left. Then they expect you to sit on an uncomfortable yoga ball for an 8 hour shift smh The office is filthy as-well. Had a mouse running around the office and a snake.He's too cheap to hire a cleaning company like most practices. Staff come in on the weekends and sometimes stay after hours to do work and accommodate patients and he does not compensate them for that extra time. He doesn't pay the office bills on time either. Just very unprofessional and too laid back. Appointments would run over and patients are brought back late because the doctor is too busy in the waiting room relaxing and running his mouth to the parents while technicians are calling him on the headset to help work on the patients that are seated. He will over work his employees well into lunch time just to accommodate the patients that don't pay their bills. He's shows favoritism to the others. The most entitled snobby Karen's attend this office and demand certain appointment times. And if you tell patients we're booked or do not have the time available that they want they complain. I'm not sure why people don't understand that every child cannot have an after school appointment. And then you're the one in trouble for doing your job. If you do book them by doing a favor and squeezing them in & give them what they demanded, he complains about you over working him and will have an attitude with the entire office all day. But if you turn the patient away because we're booked and to not over work the doctor, he still complains. No good reasonable benefits are offered here either. The doctor also forced a patient to remove his bad review. Doctor also took away blocking schedule rights from receptionist task but yet the office manager doesn't know how to book appointments?? How do you remove scheduling access from the receptionist but then turn around and don't know how to do it yourself and now need their help??? TOXIC OFFICE! read more

This office is VERY inflexible with scheduling. My husband and I work full- time. How else could we afford braces?? My daughter needs bite correctors. I work from home on Thursdays, so my daughter has been going to OBC on Thursdays. I scheduled her next appointment on a Thursday at 4 pm. Shelby, who made this appointment, now says they do not do bite correctors on Thursdays. I clearly remember making this Thursday at 4 pm appointment WITH Shelby. Now I will be 3 hours late to work on a Tuesday, so I will have to stay late. If you need flexible scheduling, this is NOT the orthodontist for you. No evening appointments, no Fridays, and no weekends. read more

Very fun and interesting place compared to typical dental offices. It has a surf theme, it's clear and open. Check-in and filling out forms was easy, since they're both digital on iPads. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. I got a full 360 x-ray which was easy and done in one shot. Also got a picture set and they showed everything to me on the big screen and explained the issues and how to fix them. There were much more details about my specific issues than other dentists provided, which was great. I felt confident about the recommendations they made and the price quoted was very competitive. UPDATE: I returned to get braces installed! Everything went better than expected. Everyone is so great and the procedure was painless and quicker than anticipated. The cold laser is a great touch to help with comfort and the starter kit in a bag is a welcomed addition and generous of you. I look forward to my follow-up appointments. read more

When I came here for my initial consultation for invisalign I was delighted by how friendly and sweet the staff are. They really put you at ease and explain step by step what they're going to do. When my daughter got her braces put on the hygienist was courteous and gentle with her. The hygienist asked if the tongue depressor was hurting her and she said it was, so she adjusted it so it would be less uncomfortable. The doctor here is very personable and knowledgeable. The front staff are nice as well. Each time I talk to the office manager (Diane K.), who handles the financial side, I find her abrasive and rude. I'm looking around at other practices to avoid having to work with her. The perks for waiting siblings are great with an Icee machine, arcade like computers and coffee for the adults. I wonder if perks like these drive up the price though... They quoted me (for my 9 year old) at $3, 050 for Phase 1 Treatment for one year. read more

Do not choose this Orthodontist. Horrible experience with this doctor, which caused months worth of unnecessary pain and suffering. Worst of all, when confronted with the obvious mistake he made, Dr. Crutchfield refused to apologize or even acknowledge his mistake. He was very arrogant and irresponsible. In a nutshell, he made a custom mouth guard for me. The purpose of the mouth guard was to prevent the back teeth from touching so as to prevent night grinding (and resultant severe headaches, in my case). He let a young assistant adjust my night guard. That assistant altered the piece significantly - he shaved down/eliminated the essential front, downwardly-protruding piece of the guard, the sole purpose of which was to prevent the back teeth from touching. During that adjustment visit, the assistant did not check the guard at all to make sure his alteration was appropriate and Dr. Crutchfield did not check the guard at all or have any involvement in that visit whatsoever. The end result of that horrible adjustment was that I suffered needlessly for months with daily severe headaches. The only reason this error was ever discovered was because I awoke during the night and felt myself clinching. It took me about 2 seconds to run my finger along my back teeth and figure out the mouth guard wasn't working. read more

I have had my daughter at Dr. Crutchfield's office several times now, as he is taking a conservative approach with her, and waiting to see what happens as her baby teeth fall out and her adult teeth come in. I appreciate that he is taking this more conservative route, as opposed to doing two different rounds of braces/expanders, etc. Dr. Crutchfield and every single staff person I've come in contact with has been very upbeat, friendly and the entire place has such a positive feel - either they are amazing actors/actresses, or the office is a great place to work, because all of the staff seem genuinely happy to be there. Today, while I was there with my daughter, I was marveling and completely geeking out over the x-rays (they are 3-d images that he can rotate 360 degrees, and are very cool if you're into that sort of thing). In talking, he discovered that I have had issues with my sinuses, and offered to do a free x-ray on me to see what was going on - he didn't bill my insurance or me, just did it so that we could see if there was anything going on, and then, after noting some potential issues, suggested I made an appointment to go seen an ENT, and is sending me a copy of my x-rays to take to the specialist. Talk about above and beyond... It's refreshing to see someone in healthcare who is obviously passionate about their profession, and isn't just interested in moving you through as quickly as possible, but is willing to take the time to talk to you and explain things and ensure that all of your questions are thoroughly answered. read more
