It wasn't as much for the esthetics as to correct my bite. Near the end of my treatment, I had many doubts about the result and went for a consultation with Dr Ngueng (thanks yelp!). As I feared, the treatment I started treatment wasn't going to get me the correct bite. So I "relocated" to Sunnyvale Orthodontics and many months later I finally have a good bite, yay! I just wish that I didn't remove my perfectly healthy "extra" teeth when I was a kid or that after removing my wisdom teeth someone would tell me that I'll need to wear a retainer so that my teeth would stay in place. But I am happy that today my kids have other options rather than extraction to have a healthy smile. And the team at Sunnyvale orthodontics works hard to make sure they will smile with confidence. Dr. Nguyen is knowledgeable and is very polite. He takes time to talk about options available, the pros and cons of each method. He answers questions very thoroughly and seems to value every patient; never pushy or dismissive. All the staff at this office are great. Super skilled at what she does and super gentle with the kids. You definitely feel like you can trust her. My son had cavities that had to be filled, with laughing gas and it went very well. Finally, my youngest daughter had the most dental work done here after she experienced cavities and tooth decay due to drinking milk in bed as a baby and not brushing afterwards. She had to do the repair under general anesthesia at 3, which is super nerve-wrecking as a parent but under the care of Dr Nancy it went very well. Her office is exceptionally clean, and both the front desk staff and her assistant are professional and friendly. Dr. Huang herself is especially kind, patient, and highly skilled. She took the time to clearly explain in detail the different approaches she could take to fix the problem, which made us feel very comfortable as new patients. Although we expected there might be a long wait to receive treatment due to how many patients she has, we were truly grateful that Dr. Huang was able to fix one of my husband's crowns the same day. Her fee was also very fair. In addition, she helped us make a cost-conscious decision regarding the second crown. Since my husband has already reached his dental insurance limit for the year, she recommended postponing the non-urgent treatment regarding this crown until next year so we could make use of insurance coverage. Original Review Sept 2, 2025: TLDR: Please think twice if you are covered by DELTA and always research your insurance before a visit. TWO start for "Could've been better" because it used to be better :( Luxe dental was the best choice 7 years ago with Delta in-network coverage. Dr. I was very attentive and willing to explain all the details before, during and after the procedure. He also proactively helps me to arrange visits properly to save some money with insurance. Excellent experience overall. A few years ago, Luxe dental left Delta Dental which causes some inconveniences but I was convinced that the out-of-pocket payments are not increased. And I decide to stay with Luxe dental for the good services from Dr. I Last year, Dr.I recommended a whitening procedure to me and explained the cost with insurance extensively. Everything works as expected and I am very impressed. This year, I was silently switched to another doctor (not Lans I or Sandy Huang), who performs fine services but without all the "extras" from Dr. I. AND TODAY, I was surprised by the 700+ bill as all my $2000 allowance are used. After some investigation, I found out that Delta has 500 less allowance for out of network providers($2500 vs $2000). The process of root canal+crown would easily drain the yearly allowance for many insurance plans and I was told nothing before seeing the bill. This should be the responsibility of the office stuff but I think Dr.I may also warns me about the issue. Anyway, it is still my fault to not plan everything properly and it is also my issue to trust Luxe dental after many years of good experiences. Dr. Lee took a much more thoughtful approach and explained that my asymmetry was not severe enough to require surgery, and that it could be treated with a nonsurgical camouflage approach instead. That was a huge relief, and I really appreciated how clearly and honestly he explained my options. What also stood out to me was how detail-oriented he was throughout the process. I never had to point anything out myself because he would notice even small things and continue making adjustments until everything looked right.
