Phenomenal experience with OrthoNC and Dr Correa. From the ease of getting in fast (broke my ankle) to the kindness and care of the staff to the consultation with Dr Correa, every step was top notch! I went there today in major pain; had a 3:00 appointment but wasn't seen by PA Elizabeth until 4:07. I was irritated and she wanted to play 'doctor' by reviewing what Dr Watson had said in the past year. Even mentioning my recent visit with Dr Tarr. I wasn't there for her to review my chart. More than once I asked her if she would give me an injection to ease my pain. After the third time to ask about the injection and I emphasized that I didn't want to be there another 30 minutes reviewing notes, she responded that Nia would give me a shot. Her PA skills when it's urgent versus an office visit need to be reviewed, in my opinion as the "in pain patient ". She may be working towards becoming a great PA but I don't want to see her again. This is my first bad experience and I truly hope it's my last ‼ read more

Another great experience with OrthoNC. As soon as I walked in I was greeted right away from one of the four staff members they have ready at the front desk. Dr. Galland and his assistant were amazing to say the least. From the moment I was taken back they help diagnose my issue right away. Doc ordered X-rays and they came right away with no hesitation and took care of me. I swear I was in and out under an hour with X-rays and all! RUN yeah this place is terrible and because I have been there before hen I injured my knee I went straight there..... they did X-rays and an injection and it did nothing..... so I went back and got doc got doc rion the big guy.... I mean the boss.... he took 10 minutes to let me talk and then 1 minute to look at my knee..... then said well you have arthritis and you will need knee injections and knee replacement and bye..... did not feel that was right... so went to knee specialist who yes low and behold ordered a MRI yes this was a option for doc rion too.... and I have a ACL tear and we are moving forward..... so as a previous person posted RUN.... they do not care about who you are or what you say..... will NEVER go back.. it took 3 weeks to finally get a diagnosis of a fractured femur. knightdale office did X-rays and said nothing was broken so I continued to try to get around not knowing my femur was fractured. Now they have decided I'm not hurting on the 4th week and want me to stay off of my leg. I requested pain medicine and was denied. Unbelievable! Physicians cause no harm? I will no doubt have to go to an emergency room today for further treatment. I have no plans to lay here in a 6 out of 10 pain scale. read more

I have been sitting both in the lobby and a medical room for over an hour. I wouldn't have minded had this been an impromptu appt. but I scheduled this over a week ago. very unprofessional to leave a patient for this long with no one either checking in or the PA/Doctor to stop by. I should have done my check on the reviews as I just saw they have 2 stars. my mistake. never again. Front office: 3 Back office: 3 Communication: 1 Doctor: 4 (Galland) Bang for the buck: 2 Date: 8/19/2020 Reason for visit: Trigger Finger This was my first time visiting this group and the wait time was pretty decent. The front office staff seemed always busy but with not many people waiting to see them, so check-in was interesting having to wait. The nurse called me in and the PA arrived soon after to ask me questions. Also, Dr. Galland came in a few minutes after the PA left and went over my options for my trigger finger issue. Once we made the decision (surgery), another staff member came in to give me some documentation and estimate of their cost, and asked if I wanted anesthesia or just local numbing which I chose the latter since I've been told by others, and read up on it, that it would be a simple procedure in the doctor's office. She was not able to give me a date for the surgery until she "called it in" which was strange. And, this is where it got really strange. I was called later to find out the surgery would be at Carolina Surgery Center which I thought was odd, but then figured it was another location they had where they had rooms equipped for the surgery. They couldn't find a time slot I wanted so later I got another call from WakeMed North. That's when I started asking why a full blown hospital. The response was they provide surgery rooms for doctors who basically rent them out. I asked if she knew I was only getting a local numbing for the surgery and she confirmed. So I went ahead and scheduled it. On the day of the surgery, I enter the hospital and went up the elevators to a floor with a large waiting area and check in counter. After giving all the necessary info, the lady said the charge would be $2,900! After the shock wore down a little, I asked why so much since that's not the estimate I was given? She said normally it's $14,000 but insurance pays all but $2,900. Come to find out they charge the doctor rent but then turn around and charge the patient everything else! When I got called in, I was put in a room and was processed like any other patient going in for surgery. Even the nurse was a little confused since her normal procedure would be to start me on an IV to calm me down, but she kept reminding herself (by asking me) if I was getting anesthesia. So, now I'm in a gown lying on the gurney waiting to be taken to the surgery room. Once I get there, the place looks like exactly that... a surgery room. The anesthesiologist came up to me and did her usual process so I figured I better ask if she knew I was just getting a local numbing. She confirmed. So her entire job was just to sit there and write down my stats from the monitor every minute during the 5-10 min surgery. So now I'm being wheeled to post-surgery where, again, the nurse was great but definitely not used to someone coming in fully awake and ready to go. She watched me for a few minutes and said she normally has to keep me there for 30 mins but since I'm fine and didn't have anesthesia, she was letting me go early... still had to be rolled out in a wheelchair though :-) So, bottom line is had I gotten a full communication from the staff on what to expect and how much the TOTAL bill would be, I probably would have declined any service and started calling groups that did their surgeries in-house. For such a minor surgery, laying all that expense of a full surgery center on the client is, in my opinion, uncalled for and really unfair. If you're just going to get some non-surgical solutions, I feel Dr. Galland and his PA would be a good choice, but if you suspect you'll need surgery, and it only requires numbing, ask if they do it in the office. If not, expect a much higher bill when you're done. The surgery seems to have been a success, although the finger is still very stiff and hurts some mornings. read more

Had a very poor experience here recently, using their UrgentCare for a minor foot injury. The charges were SO ridiculous for what they did, that even though my deductible had been paid off, I STILL ended up with almost $100 in extra charges for putting a piece of tape around my pinky toe and a boot on my foot you can buy from Amazon for $40, for my coinsurance of 30% (AFTER insurance discounts....the billed amount was almost $500....for a $40 boot!!). That's on top on a long wait well past what was estimated when I arrived. I was even encouraged to file through insurance when I mentioned my deductible for the year was filled, had they been honest up-front about how insane their charge for it was going to be I'd never have left there with it, as I was not that badly injured. Will never trust them again!!! read more

It is 10:20 and still have not seen a doctor. My appointment was for 9:40. This is poor. If I showed up 40 minutes late for my appointment they would not accept me, yet we're expected to just let it slide. Completely unacceptable. read more
