The techs were fine, but when I requested a copy of the report, I was told (on different days): *We mailed it to you, but the mails are slow "When did you mail it?" "We don't keep those records" "You don't keep a record of when you release confidential patient information?" "That is correct." What followed was a series of no less than 12 phone calls, all with different responses. (At least they should synchronize their stories.) I spoke to the office manager on Friday who agreed to Express Mail it. He did not! When I asked about the conflicting stories, he said, "oh, they are new." I had 167 people on staff and EVERY ONE knew that they are not expected to know all the answers, just either get the answer, or refer them to someone who can help. I plan to file a complaint with all relevant regulatory agencies, the VA, and any other consumer agencies there are. It would have been easier if they told the truth.

I had my first ever MRI in Clifton Park today. I did not know beforehand what the fasting test…read morewould entail. It was prescribed by my gastro doctor. 1. An IV to inject dye was needed. I am a "difficult draw" because of my small arteries. The staff member who did my MRI put the IV in skillfully on the first try which does not always happen. Thankful for her expertise! 2. The MRI was 20-25 minutes long and noisy. I had to wear a headset. She gave me a much appreciated and needed break after 10 minutes. There were lots of recorded holding your breath prompts through the test. 3. I received assistance getting off the table and placed in a wheelchair for a few minutes. It was a fasting test, so I appreciated the juice and pretzels that were offered to me. A nurse checked out that I was feeling well enough to leave the waiting room. I was. This summer was exceptional. They spotted a very difficult to find small tumor with their brand new 3D mammogram machine. My oncologist was shocked and impressed that they discovered it. She says this type of tumor is exceptionally well hidden and rarely seen until much larger. My prognosis is excellent and I am most grateful. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Today I had a visit at the urgent care for treatment of a urinary tract infection. I am in…read morehealthcare myself and had completed and at home test, indicating that I had an infection. The registration and check-in process was quick and seamless however, I waited in an examining room well over an hour and half with no interaction from a nurse or a provider. I opened the door to seek out somebody to inquire how long this would take as I was worried they forgot me Upon registration, I voluntarily gave a urine sample because due to my symptoms I needed to urinate and knew that they would need a sample. After waiting over an hour and a half and speaking with the nurse, she informed me that they sent my sample to the hospital and that I needed to wait for the results to come back before a provider was going to see me. This was not the process that I experienced a couple of months ago when I was there for a similar reason. At that time a provider took my history, and examined me . I gave them a urine sample and they called me later in the day with results for which they called in a prescription for. Today was very different. They told me I needed to wait for the sample to get to the hospital for the lab to process the sample and the results to come back before a provider would even see me. Being in healthcare myself, this seemed like a waste of the providers time as I know they have much more urgent and sicker patients to see than myself I asked the RN if I can speak with a provider who I have not yet met but yet was assigned to my care. 15 minutes later, Clara Karastury came into my room to ask me what was going on with me. I explained to her my symptoms and that I had taken an at home test. I asked her if she could call me with the results and if they were positive just call a prescription and I can pick it up the very next day she proceeded to tell me that I needed to wait until the results came back from the urinalysis before she can complete my visit and that they did not know how much longer that would take since it was sent to the hospital. I had conversations with her about the patient portal and how we can communicate through the patient portal if need be. And then she didn't say anything and walked out of the room. She did not indicate that she was looking at my chart. She did not indicate that she was coming back to my room to provide me with any medical care. There was no communication from this provider. I did apologize upfront for my frustration because I was waiting for a very long time approximately two hours at this time with no interaction from a healthcare provider without advocating for myself. This is unacceptable care and quite frankly a waste of the providers time. Quite frankly, emergency rooms are very overwhelmed with patient seeking care. Urgent care is where patients are instructed to go to decrease the demand on an ER. Today's experience was unpleasant, could have been handled so much better with clear, communication, clear timelines, and visibility. I understand how to advocate for myself. But I feel bad for those people in the community who do not know how to do that.

Paul and Heather were the Technicians who handled my MRI, and they listened to my concerns about the MRI chamber, as well as the possibility of finding a viable vein, due to my prior cancer treatments, for the contrast material. After a quick discussion we found a great vein and the infusion site was all set up. They also provided me with Headphones so that I could listen to relaxing music during the process ( traditional Japanese Music was my choice). Paul kept in touch with me during the MRI to make sure that I was okay. We shared some laughs during the set up which helped relax me and made the procedure that much more pleasant
