My wife fell and her ankle looked very swollen so we drove here at4:30 on a Saturday. Reception staff was awesome and were courteous and helpful. The PA took us right away and they did X-rays and an evaluation immediately. Doctor came in quickly and revealed a small ankle fracture. She was fitted with a boot and the whole process took about 30 minutes. The entire staff was great to deal with. Great alternative to an emergency room. I would highly recommend. read more

So easy to make an appointment & get scheduled for first appointment! Got referral for lower back pain from PCP. Upon arrival, kiosk check-in - I felt super bad for the older people who asked for help but were dismissed by front desk staff. Techs & nurses are lovely, super nice and helpful! Providers, at least the one that I saw was just okay - not great at explaining or addressing questions. I knew something was structurally wrong & had tried everything so just needed imaging which I was able to get. MRI front desk amazing, tech staff questionable - again not great at addressing questions or concerns. Followed up with PA to discuss results, told that I would get a call to schedule with a doctor for epidural shot. Left 3 messages & sent two messages in the span of 3 weeks to finally get scheduled and a returned phone call. Really seems overall like they're not really sure what they're doing - I would 100% go Yale or Hartford Health Care for your needs as I have much better experiences with both. read more

This is the worst place I've ever been to in my life!!! i'm a severely disabled, senior citizen who has had three back surgeries, was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and degenerative spinal disease spent four years in a nursing home learning how to walk again I'm finally back in my home and get referred to go back to Osg who I was with for 22 years!!!!! I arrive at at the office and the staff is hugging me. Oh my God we're so glad you're back with us. I go to see the doctor the new doctor and he tells me they don't do pain Management there.!!!! And I said to him I came here for 22 years before I was in my coma! He saw the staff hugging me telling me how glad they were to have me back as a patient and then he turns to me and tells me they don't do pain management there!!!!! ?????? WOW read more

This was the worst experience. I took my elderly mom for a 2pm appointment for a painful swollen knee. We at first went to their "walk in" building at 2pm and were directed by the receptionist to drive to the back building. My mom uses a walker so it takes time to get in and out of the car. We went as quick as possible to the back building and upstairs to check in. There was a line of people at "check in" kiosks. Only two were working. I told the one receptionist in the separate room that we had come from the other building, wanting her to know we were there. She said "check in at the kiosk." I waited in line, checked my mom in at the kiosk, and sat in the waiting room. Again there was only one person working the desk. After a bit of time I decided I better make sure all was well and waited in the line of people at the front desk. Talking to her, she could not find us in her computer so she made a phone call and we were told that we had been wiped out of the system as a "no show". Obviously we were there, had been there, and now we were told we needed to reschedule! There was no way they could "get my mom in". I was so angry! My mom is 85, has dementia, uses a walker and it is not an easy thing. The day was an especially cold and very windy day making it even more challenging and frustrating. The receptionist said we cold go to the walk in clinic. I had no time to go and wait to be seen at the walk in clinic. The treatment and attitude we were given was so blaise, just like we were a number and not a patient who is there in pain who had an appointment. The entire experience, office set up, and care for the patient was ridiculous and extremely impersonal. I will not go back and will never recommend them. read more

The emphasis on the money side of medicine is astonishing. I called up for an appointment (repeat customer) and the first thing was not only to ask me if my insurance had changed (it hadn't) but to then verify with the carrier. THEN I could get an appointment. On arrival there's a bank of kiosks to checkin, which is impersonal but not too off putting. Fine for me but an obviously in-distress patient arrived in a wheelchair who went to the counter was told to go back to the kiosk instead of being treated with dignity. Medicine is fine. Easily the most poorly administered care group I have encountered in my lifetime. I had to cajole them into following up. They never scheduled follow-up appointments as promised. Their billing system is a disaster. They consistently asked for payment without providing any statements. My primary physician was good at procedures, but would become overtly hostile when I asked questions. So if you have lots of time, don't mind being treated like a nuisance, and money is no object, this is the group for you. read more

Absolutely the worst physical therapy office!! When you walk through the door the horrible customer service begins! The receptionists ignore you standing there and continue to talk on the phone. PT Bob doesn't seem to want to be bothered with his patients, he sits at his computer and expects you to know what to do on your own after 1 treatment though I'm sure my insurance is getting billed for one on one treatment time. I was left to do my exercises independently without even being told or shown what to do, no one watched to see if I was doing the exercises correctly or gave me any feedback nor was I asked how it felt, if the exercise was causing pain or discomfort. Their equipment is laughable, I was on a traction device that I can probably purchase on Amazon. I would have been better off watching YouTube videos to help me. BEWARE!! read more

Wow! What an awful experience for my appointment this afternoon. This is a nice new building and I went in with high expectations. I took the stairs to the second floor and wasn't sure where to turn for the office. I looked to the right to see a starkly white reception area with a woman sitting behind a computer screen. Absolutely cold blank expression on her face. Come on, lady, you see I'm not sure where to go, you could have extended a friendly welcome. Nope. I walk in and experience the worst thing ever in customer service....the stone faced stare, whereupon I'm supposed to explain why I'm there. Do I give my name? Say I have an appointment? Sooo uncivil I say I'm here for an appointment. She tells me to sit at the kiosk. The kiosk....the modern death of customer facing service She does help me, but it's a long irritating process to complete. I asked jokingly for a discount as I'm doing their job. That must have irritated her because she was awful after telling me where to pay my co pay. I approach yet another stone cold faced woman to whom I'm supposed to give my co pay. At this point I say never mind and I left. I think what this group of Orthopods forgets is the reason we come to see them. We are in pain. We are coming to see YOU because we need you to help us fix something. We'd rather not be there but we are there. Please hire a staff who can provide friendly guidance and a bit of a welcome. read more

My family has always had great experiences with the doctors of OSG. Unfortunately, today that changed when I had an appointment with Dr. Malin. In and out in 5 minutes. No discussion about the xrays that were taken, He didn't seem to be interested in any questions that I had. He sounded like a robot. Physical Therapy, see me in 4 weeks. Sorry, I am in pain. I can not wait 4 weeks for the pain to subside! I left, called another group, and must say felt so much better to speak with a caring professional! read more

Dr. Joel Malin has been my family's orthopaedic surgeon for many years, treating my sons' hockey injuries and my own RA-related joint deterioration. He also restored my sister's ability to walk after a failed arthroscopy and knee replacement at NY Hospital left her immobile for several years. He is a first-rate diagnostician and skilled surgeon, without the arrogance that usually accompanies such skills. I would highly recommend him to everyone from young athletes to the elderly. read more
