Watch out if you get physical therapy, They billed for stuff they weren't doing which was really fraud. They put other MD's name on the visit which have nothing to do with it. Billing department is clueless and of no help. It wasn't alot of money, but having medicare and a secondary insurance it should not have cost me anything. Have heard from other patients that doctors have left the practice because they are just interested in money, Appointments are quick and not informative. I won't go back. A not successful cmc joint surgery, a worse knee surgery experience and an unsuccessful foot/ankle repair required after the bad knee surgery experience and I didn't learn my lesson. Over the last year or so I've noticed office staff changes. The former people were happy, these are not. Now the physical therapy department has all new therapy employees and the office staff and patients (me) were not informed. They showed up for work and there's all new people there. I drove quite a distance to see a specific therapist and when I get there I'm told he's no longer there. I get more respect from my hair salon. I showed up for knee surgery today. I was asked to sign a form asking if I had completed Advanced Directive for my Health Care. I have. They went on to say that they would IGNORE my wishes as the patient and take all extraordinary measures including CPR and a trip to the hospital rather than abide by my DNR. I'm getting electrodes and needle stuck in me - and they are telling me their CEO and Medical Director (and lawyer, I'm sure) said they would not do surgery if I insist they honor my Advanced Directives. If you choose OCPBC, be prepared to have your wishes ignored as the health care industry puts their legal concerns ahead of patient care - even if I have completed Advanced Directives with MY patient care wishes. read more

I have been seeing Dr Cohn regarding a hand issue I have been having. I have found Dr Cohn and his assistant to be caring and personable about my condition. Both take the time with me discussing my condition and proceeding with treatment. 2 weeks ago I received an injection in the affected area. Today was the follow up. Again the same attention and caring. Dr Cohn offered a booster injection. However given my future travel plans, we decided to delay the booster injection till closer to when I leave. I definitely recommend Dr Cohn if you're having issues with your hand. read more

TOTAL SCAM! I saw Dariano (I refuse to call him dr) for my cervical spine. I had an older MRI from DCA before my failed surgery that I showed him so he could have something to see. I knew he would need a new one as this was too old. He told his assistant KAT to get me over to a place called MRI SPECIALISTS right away for a better quality image because they have the best machines. At this point I never knew there were different quality machines but my DCA MRI was a 3 T image the best you can get. After a series of events I found out MRI SPECIALIST only use 1.5 T machines only half the quality. I called KAT to tell her I wanted to go to DCA for a better image and she began yelling at me. Saying MRI SPECIALISTS has the best machines you have to go there. I checked their website and it states they only use 1.5 T machines only half the quality. I called KAT to tell her and she became defensive and abusive. Yelling at me they have 3 T machines as well. I decided to call MRI SPECIALISTS to ask maybe the website was old but they confirmed they only have 1.5 T machines. I then called Kat to tell her and she became more aggressive and abusive saying they do have 3 T machines. YOU HAVE TO GO TO THEM. I had my insurance company call MRI SPECIALISTS to confirm and then asked them to call KAT and tell her. At this time KAT said to the insurance company she knew they only have the 1.5 T machines. I guess she didn't want to lie to the insurance company. This is the short version of the abuse and lies. They must have a connection with this place because KAT was not letting me go anyplace else without a fight. She yelled at me abused me lied to me over and over and over. I stopped payment on my credit card because of the abuse and the need to see a different DR. Now they are harassing me for payment. Stay away from this scam abuse find another provider. read more

Great Practice! My husband has had both if his replaced by Dr. Agudelo and I have had a total knee replacement of my right knee, also by Dr. Agudelo. Amazing! We couldn't beleive how fast we were able to return to all the activies we had done before. OCofPBC has a wonderful physical therapy practice right there at the Boynton offices. They are so professional and caring. I would recommend them very highly. read more

I only give them 2 stars because the billing department is the worst I have ever had to deal with. They threaten to cancel my wife's surgery unless I gave them over $500 even though we have met our maximum out of pocket for the year. it has been three months since the surgery and they still haven't billed the insurance company. Have spoke to several billing department personnel and even the doctor herself and still no return call from anyone from the office. If you have money that you can part with for long periods of time then these people are great because do not expect any timely calls from anyone unless you owe them money. I am so happy that when I broke my hand playing cricket we literally stumbled upon this office. I broke my hand on a Sunday and went to the ER who wrapped up my hand and advised me to follow up with an ortho surgeon as soon as possible. On Monday morning Rabia J started looking for ortho doctors in our area and she was able to get an appointment with Dr. Rosenfeld for the same day which was extremely lucky as he is the best in the region and is very busy. Dr. Rosenfeld was excellent and did a fantastic job and I am back on the field playing cricket within 3 months. On every appointment my wait time has been less than 5 minutes and the doctors assistant Vivian does a super awesome job getting the patients in and out of the office promptly. This building location houses both the surgery unit which is on the ground floor along with the doctors offices and physical therapy on the second floor. 5 star all the way if you need any ortho advice or surgeries this is the place to visit. read more

Great office, surgi-center & physical therapy office. Had surgery with Dr Brandon Shallop in December for torn rotator cuff & torn bicep tendon & I have been so pleased with the entire process. From making the initial appointment to scheduling the surgery & physical therapy sessions, everything has been very smooth. Dr Shallop is extremely caring & knowledgable & took the time to explain the procedure. He never pressured me into the surgery. In fact, he was the only surgeon who told me he could reattach the tendon, which he did successfully! Everyone in office is very caring, office is clean & they take great precautions with COVID. The PT department is excellent as well. read more

Awful. All I can say is stay farrr away from this place. De. Richman and Dr. Mattei are both terrible for their respective reasons. Dr. Richman, is careless and caused extensive damage to my neck. Then, when asked for the imaging and records associated with the injections he severely messed up-- the records mysteriously C disappeared from their system. Make sure to look into his history first. Dr. Mattei doesn't have a clue as to what he's doing and if you question ANYTHIBG he literally has a temper tantrum. The guy literally screamed at me left the room literally slamming the door and then went into his office and slammed that door. Let me in the room logged into and with access to the computer records system (with the wrong person that can be a serious HIPPA violation).. he never came back back or out of his office for that matter. Orthopedic center of Palm Beach sent two letters to my home asking for payment of a copay. The letters were returned to them by an incompetent post office who did not forward these letters to my N.Y. home as instructed. They also claim they called my phone but nobody answered. By having the letters returned to them they knew I didn't receive their demand for payment. Instead of sending a letter return receipt requested they went to a collection agency and damaged my credit and lifestyle. I called them many times, ( orthopedic center of palm beach) even went to their office but have been ignored. In my opinion these ppl are as nasty as you can get. If they send you a bill or bills and you don't get it they will get a collection agency after you and ruin or damage your credit. Operate on the side of caution and go somewhere else. read more

Horrible place to seek medical attention. Do NOT Use this facility. The staff is Unaccommodating and downright mean. They will turn your day into a bad one. They are miserable and angry and will treat you with no respect. Buyer beware: This company billed my wife insurance well over $1100 for a 30 minute consult, x ray, and shot for pain relief in her leg. Classic example of over billing insurance. The office charged a $30 copay to my wife and then we received a bill for $153 for what the insurance "did not pay." One could say be grateful the insurance covered as much as it did, however, the full payment for services rendered is plain price gouging and over billing at its finest. We paid the $153 plus the $30 copay plus the monthly insurance cost so that this doctor office could legally bill as much as they did because of the system designed to capture these funds. read more

First visit went surprisingly well. Got to office on time, filled out paperwork and didn't have to wait an obnoxious amount of time to be shown to the room. Everyone from nurse to X-ray tech were efficient and speedy. Dr. Shallop came in and had me show him few things and was able to quickly find my issue. He was friendly and explained everything. I am usually having to yell at the reception desk about waiting too long but this place made me feel like they meant business. Let's hope my injuries will heal with Dr. Shallop's help. I went to see Dr Marvin Cohn in November 2019 for tennis elbow. He insisted that the cortisone shot I received was injected properly, although there was no pain (which there should be if done correctly at the right injection site) and absolutely no improvement. Then the bills started. They incorrectly billed this as a Worker's Comp claim, although I do not work. After 10 months of back and forth calls, after 10 months of the billing dept insisting that Medicare was the problem, after months of Medicare and my supplemental plan assuring me that Orthopedic Center had not sent the documentation they claimed to have sent, I finally got a bill for my copay. However, it was for more than my copay, because they are now insisting I have coinsurance, not a copay. The ineptness of the billing department is so unacceptable that it overrides the abilities of any of the doctors in the practice. Avoid them. read more

I had two total knee surgeries by Dr Juan Agudelo and he was fabulous. my complaint is with Rachel who is his coordinator. she is abrupt and borderline rude on the phone. I recently had my second knee surgery and have had extraordinary pain that resulted in being sent for an ultrasound. turned out I had a cyst and was told to follow up with my orthopedic Dr. when Rachel called back, her first words were that she was returning my call. I said hello and asked her what she could tell me about my ultrasound. her answer was "I can't tell you anything, I'm not a doctor." She added that my tests came back negative. I asked what about the cyst (that she said nothing about) and she then said she was calling to make a Dr appt. because of the cyst. I asked why she didn't just tell me that-she got mad as we have had problems before and just transferred me to the front desk for the appointment. the lady who answered had such a thick Spanish accent I couldn't understand her and asked to be transferred back to Rachel who did not answer the phone. I left a message asking her to call me back and apologized for any misunderstanding, adding that I am in pain and really need an appt with the doctor." She never called back. now I don't know if I should go to rehab or not. so unprofessional. I have had such communication problems with her with scheduling, referral process etc that I will go to another doctor if I ever need an orthopedist again. she is way too abrupt to handle patients, many of whom are in pain or don't know how to proceed. has no communication skills or patience! and I worked in hospitals for over 40 years. I had an excellent experience at the Boynton Beach location with Dr. Agudelo this morning. Overall, the staff was very professional... I felt very safe because you can tell the office is very conscious of social distancing, wearing masks ... etc... Dr. Agudelo came highly recommended, and I 100% agree! He has excellent bedside manner, and is extremely knowledgeable. He took his time, and was willing to answer all my questions. I didn't feel rushed... as he gave a detailed and thorough evaluation/exam. I have a follow up in a few weeks, and plan to return with an update. Update 7/21/2020: I have visited this office twice since my initial exam. The experience has been very nice. They are very consistent with their approach to their practice, and my experience with Dr. Agudelo was once again, wonderful! I have also started physical therapy at the same location. So far, I am very pleased with my experience. The initial PT appointment was very informative, and not rushed. They sent me home with a detailed printout of the exercises I should do for the week. I feel that I have all the support, and information I need ... in order to focus on my therapy and healing. read more

Honestly very disappointed. We didn't even get to see the doctor. My dad has a swollen knee, asks for an appointment and paperwork ahead of time. We don't receive the paperwork and the staff never bothered to check if it was received. When he arrives to his appointment, he fills out the entire paperwork only for the staff to demand that he fill out paperwork to make his employer liable for the payment (as my dad mentioned the type of work he does may have contributed, but it did not cause it). Regardless, the staff is not responsible for this and they demanded that he fill this out before being seen. It sounded like racism or discrimination because my dad is not white, has an accent, and was paying out-of-pocket. He insists that he will not fill it out and just need to see the doctor. They refuse and he's forced to leave without seeing a doctor. They discriminated against him and placed profit over his health (even though he was going to pay the same day). Please, stay away. They do not care about your health, and that's made clear up-front. read more

Practice filled with a bunch of hand surgeons who are inefficient at the "meat and butter of orthopedic surgery," total joints and fracture care! Most of the surgeons have a "I am God" mentalities especially Kohn, Rosenfield and the bald-headed Cohn! Close to 3 hour long total joint and fracture fixation cases is asking for surgical site and post op infections! They have a HIGH turn over rate for PAs so be very cautious and do your research if given a position! They absolutely don't respect your life beyond the OR and their cases so be warned! read more

Dr. Mattei is great. However, my rating is because their scheduling and back office support is poor. I was supposed to have a procedure through their surgery center but I can't get the scheduler to call me back. In addition, I left messages for his assistant and the message said they will return call in 24 hours but you don't hear back. There is not a way to send an email to the practice to get around this log jam without going in personally. There needs to be better customer service from their administrative support staff otherwise the doctors will constantly have to work double time to keep up billing income. read more

Dr. Abbasi is a beast!!! I came in thinking I was going to need a surgery due to a bone growth, had an MRI done to evaluate the issue. Dr. Abbasi and I reviewed the MRI he then located the exact pain point and he injected the ligament with anti-inflammatory and lidocaine mix. Within a min chronic pain for over 5 years was gone. He wrote a script for physical therapy and if needed to come back for another injection after physical therapy completion. Beast!! read more

Beware, great doctors but the staff(for the most part) are terrible. The Dr. assistants are great it's when you get to the support people. Billing, surgery coordinator etc. My surgery was cancelled because i wasn't told about missing information till the day before. There was ample opportunity to get this corrected. We had spoken on the phone and numerous emails. When I tried to complain to several layers of management I'm ignored. I've not had emails or calls returned for a week now. they've left me in severe pain and I'll have to wait several more week s to reschedule with a different Dr. Beware of ghost billing as well, my MRI co-pay was $100 then somehow I got charged an extra $200 each time and it tools months and tons of calls to get my refunds. It's a shame the behind the scenes can't match the Dr.'s There will be a complaint filed with state and the DPR. read more

I'm leaving this review for my mother in law whom has had a hip replacement in 2018 and a knee replacement in 2021 and she raves about her doctor. Dr. Agudelo is hands down the nicest doctor in Palm Beach County. He genuinely is a caring person that treats patients with the upmost care. Where do I start. I went back in December to gel shots for my knee. The pharmacy called and said the dr hasn't returned their call and could I call them to ask them to call back the pharmacy. Did that and it is now end of February. I have called his assistant several times and the front desk. I don't think Dr. Juan Agudelo realizes what's not happening in the office. I saw Dr. Rosenfield for an injury to my hand (fracture) and had a great experience. He is a super friendly, smart and caring guy. Unlike some other surgeons who like to recommend surgery above any other options, Dr. Rosenfield reassured me that I would not need surgery and that physical therapy would be sufficient.
