Recently purchased a dishwasher with delivery and installation fees. Frigidaire midd of the line model. In less than 3 months it leaked and the manual buttons stopped working. Orville won't replace, have to use the warranty process. Repair man was here, ordered part and won't be here for another two weeks. Hence, four weeks without a dishwasher. read more

Had a cooktop and wall oven installed yesterday. Appliances work great, no complaints there. The install fee for both of them was just under $450. Guys were here about an hour and were nice enough, but made a mess out of our kitchen because they didn't take their boots off or really make much of an effort to limit how much snow and salt they were tracking around. They also left all of the garbage and boxes from the appliances for me to deal with, including the pallet the oven came on. They'll take your old appliances, but leave the garbage from the new appliances? Really? I've never had a large item delivery where the person delivering/installing didn't take garbage, so this just really annoyed me. Finally, the cooktop comes with caulk so you can either caulk a gap for a flush install or close the gap between the glass and the counter if it's just sitting on top. Our cooktop sits on the counter, so asked if they could caulk it and they said no. I'm paying you for an install - THIS IS PART OF THE INSTALL. Hello? I left a 2 star review through their chat bot when prompted and they called this morning to ask about it. Learned that it's their policy to leave their garbage. Well, you should change your policy because it's terrible. The guy also told me that if I'd asked their installers had booties they could have changed into. Why is it my job to ask? Most delivery services do this automatically so I just assumed they didn't have them when they didn't change into them, especially on a day when you're very clearly going to be tracking snow and salt into a customer's home. Do yourself a favor and if you're even a little handy and comfortable connecting a few wires and putting in a couple screws do it yourself and save the money. The only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1 is that the appliances work. For $450 this was a joke. read more

We were greeted immediately and the staff helped us the narrow down the choices immediately. They seemed quite knowledgeable and quickly gave us recommendations. Orville's made the buying process easy. I know they aren't a small mom and pop shop, but I also like the fact that they are based in Western New York and can be considered "locally-owned". We bought all of our kitchen appliances from Orville in Henrietta, NY a couple years ago and we were pleased. We decided to purchase our washer and dryer from them as well last week. We paid up front for delivery and installation. When the installers came they said they couldn't hook up the washer because we needed a drainage extension hose for the washer. They also said that they could not come back and install the washer after we installed the drainage extension hose because it would be a liability. They told us it happens all the time. They should know, they are the installers. The installers were very professional and knowledgeable. Now we have the unexpected added expense of having to hire a plumber to install a drainage extension hose as well as install the washer. We are very upset because we feel Orville's absolutely should have informed us of this possibility when we purchased the washer and dryer. All we expect as customers, especially loyal customers, is to be fully informed up front so we are not caught by surprise. Do not say installation is fully covered if there is a good possibility it will not be! read more

The sales experience was pleasant, but we bought a high-end Dacor refrigerator that was installed in December, and we've already needed to have it serviced 3 times in less than 12 months. In short, if their servicing was average or better, they would get 4-5 stars, but their servicing process is anything but that. In fact, the process is incredibly frustrating as you get passed from person to person and company to company...it's one of the worst that I've ever experienced. Every time you have to schedule service, you will have AT LEAST three touch-points, and very likely a full 24 hours before you are able to actually schedule the servicing that you're attempting to schedule (i.e.- if I attempt to start scheduling the service on a Thursday afternoon, I won't be successful doing that until Friday as I will need to pass through ~3 checkpoints and various companies before I can actually schedule it on my calendar). Here is their servicing process for refrigerators: You call Orville, who creates a ticket, then asks you to call the manufacturer (in our case it's Dacor), who creates another ticket, then tells you to call back Orville again to actually schedule the service. Once you do that, you likely have to wait for someone to call you back from the store. If they don't call you, you need make sure that you proactively call them and schedule the service. Days will pass if you don't do this, and they will NOT be proactive and call you to schedule it. Once you are able to book something, it will take AT LEAST 3 weeks for a service technician to arrive, likely longer (we are currently looking at over a month and after the New Year for someone to check out our third issue with this product...the woman on the phone couldn't give us a date however told us "we would be called if anyone cancelled"...they have also told me this every time and there has never been a cancellation). I am going through this same process now for the THIRD time...it's the same infuriating process every time. We were not expecting to have the level of issues that we've had. If we did, we expected quality service based on the high-end product that we bought and the upfront sales experience, but it has been anything but that up to this point. If you buy a refrigerator from here, expect any servicing on it to be cumbersome and infuriating at best. read more

On Sunday, March 9th, I purchased a washer and dryer. However, I did not know that the dryer I had was gas, so I had to call and request a change of the dryer (I did all of this within 48 hours). I was prepared to pay the delivery fee. However, they informed me that their return policy states that returned items may be subject to a 50% restocking fee if they are not in the original factory packaging. As a result, I had to pay a total of a 25% restocking fee (nearly $500!!!). The dryer was not even used, and the package was removed by Orville's delivery staff members. I felt I was misled and taken advantage of. Do not buy anything from there, period. Go to Rochester Appliance Store! read more

My dryer hasn't been delivered yet so I'll update if that process goes badly, but I was sent to Orville's after disappointing experiences at both Lowe's and Best Buy. Thank GOODNESS we made the third stop here - I can't tell you how pleased I was with the service, prices, and ease. Our gas dryer said "See ya" and that's not something you can be without for too long. Nick at this location was a rockstar. I essentially said "gas dryer this price range pls" and he said "bet." Okay, he didn't say that, but he hurried back over to us with 4 or 5 great options. We picked one, found out it was only $70 to have it delivered and our broken dryer hauled away, cried tears of joy, and swiped the credit card. For reference, Lowe's charges $300 for gas dryer install and it would have been six weeks before they could get it to us. $70 at Orvilles and one week. I purchased stove, fridge and dishwasher from Orville's. Product is great. Price is great. Delivery is so-so. I got plenty of advice as to time of delivery even when they were approaching and nearby. However, the crew had no drop covers or booties. It was snowing and wet, and they traipsed in and out multiple times bringing in mud and water on carpets and floors. They did great setting up the equipment, but again, would not take the containers and packing materials with them, leaving me with huge boxes and packing matter to dispose of. I would think twice before buying from them again. You can get good products and prices from other vendors who will be much more helpful at delivery and afterward. read more

My dad had Orvilles deliver a new washer and it has not drained water since they brought it. Orvilles will not bring another. They send you to the manufacturer to get warranty work done. After being on the phone for an hour, the manufacturer will be there to look at it in 2 weeks. Since Jan 16th no washer. Poor customer service for a $149 delivery charge. We will be shopping at Home Depot from now on. No delivery charge and if it does not work, they will bring you another. read more

We changed where we purchase our appliances from after a hearty recommendation from an employe. 4 appliances purchased in the last year. Dryer was purchased June 13 (along w an extended warranty)-we explained to the salesman that we do 3plus loads per day and he steered us to a speed queen-6 mo later no heat. I was told after 12 minute hold (after being initially hung up on) but they couldn't get to us until January 11, two weeks of 3+ loads of laundry a day that we couldn't dry and that the manufacture warranty would cover the part but not the labor. Unacceptable. We had another person from a local appliance shop come out who told us that the cord was hooked To the distribution block incorrectly and it has been arcing and could have caused a fire easily, it burned the distribution block out. disgusted. I just purchased a new home and was in the market for appliances. I generally prefer to support smaller companies, therefore Orville's was my top choice. The selection for appliances is good. I wasn't immediately accosted when entering the store, which I appreciate. The employee who assisted me was polite and not pushy in the slightest. I purchased a Kitchenaid fridge and a Samsung washed and dryer set. The delivery fee was 50$. I received an automated call AM of delivery giving a 2 hr window as to when my order would arrive and an additional call when truck was 15-20 mins away. The delivery men were prompt and efficient, but did not remove shoes which slightly irked me. It should be noted, the box that the appliance comes in is not removed, the delivery personnel do break down the box and tie it up and will move to the curb for trash pick up. read more

Orville's are definitely NOT Good... They do NOT Stand behind their products. We bought a kitchenaid Refrigerator in April 2023 (Very nice)... it has rusted & the door won't fully close. This has happened ALREADY. They came to look at it, acknowledged it was rusted & Seen the refrigeratordoor won't close... They said they'd get back to us.... Got back & stated they'd order the doors to the freezer & Refrigerator . They then tell us IT WON'T be available until January 2024... so exactly what are we supposed to do until then???. We then asked if they would let us exchange it for a new one... Absolutely NOT was the answer... If this doesn't get rectified... I'll be Highly disappointed. Also when the delivery guys delivered & installed, they didn't level it, it made a loud noise I had to hire someone else to install it and level it. Either way we're not pleased... We paid more than 3500.00 just for the Freezer/Refrigerator. The customer service was great before all of this... Not so much now. read more

Our salesman was knowledgeable and helped us to get a good deal. But we had many problems with delivery and installation of stove and fridge. They brought the wrong stove and the delivery people weren't able to remove our large old fridge even though we had told the salesman what we had. We were left with a large Sub-Zero refrigerator in the middle of our kitchen, leaking. This interfered with the remodeling of our kitchen. A few days later they returned and installed the right stove and removed the old refrigerator. They left without noticing that the new fridge had a drawer that wouldn't open. It took 2 months and many calls to resolve, including Frigidaire sending a part we didn't need and eventually replacing the fridge. Overall, Orville's has a good selection and good prices, but we were very disappointed with the delivery and installation. read more

This store only got a 2 due to the installers being great, otherwise, based on sales staff, it would have been 0. Bought $3000 worth of appliances and arranged for delivery. Came the day of delivery, Orville's never called - called the store and found out the salesperson never arranged for the delivery. (This was after the person I spoke to found the order - the salesperson entered the wrong phone number even though we had corrected her in the store). Since I had pulled out the old washer and dryer in preparation for delivery, I had to reinstall them. Set up delivery for a later date. The evening before the second scheduled delivery, I again uninstalled the washer and dryer in preparation, and at 7:30 at night the salesperson called and informed us the washer was unavailable and would not arrive until the following week (so reinstalled the washer). Said she would call when the washer arrived. A week came and went with no word from the salesperson so I called the store. Person answering the phone checked and found out - oh yeah, the washer's been here. Arranged for delivery and let the person know my frustration with this whole transaction. She indicated she would let the store manager know what has occurred. It's now been a week with no followup call from the store. Apparently they don't care if their customers are satisfied. If it weren't for the quality of the installers this would have been an absolutely horrendous experience. Avoid this store at all costs. read more
