Unfortunately, I wasn't prepared for this and JD was HUGE help getting them properly loaded up and finding me the materials I needed to not ruin my vehicle, as I was expecting to load cardboard and not metal. The usual big box store, usually without enough employees, especially ones who know their stuff. Hard to locate items or getting an answers in store. Writing a mixed review for the following reasons... first, I can't disagree with other reviewers about the vast amount of merchandise available at Home Depot. Huge... and most of the hourly employees are helpful. Truly are. But... it is a chain store, and $$ spent here diverts money from the local economy and the legendary local stores that continue to thrive despite the presence of big box stores like Home Depot & Lowe's. Difficult return process if you use cash to pay. I tried to return a $15 wall register today. They could not find it on my card...maybe I paid cash. Highly irregular but possible. I said I was OK with store credit. They needed to see my license so I pulled up a pic on my phone. Nope, they wanted an actual physical license.. apparently didn't trust my photo altho they only need the license number which was clearly viewable (and i used it here previously) and the manager blamed it "new updates on technology and "thievery". What kind of BS is that? Not fun to be treated like a thief!! What about customer service?? Not happening at this store. Was also here to take the next step after getting a $1300 quote for a new carpet. Decided against working with them. Support local mom and pops where you know them and they know you. Stopped in over the weekend to pick up some flowers and new planters. Located on Jefferson it's easy in and out, store was busy at 9:00 am but to be expected with the Memorial Day weekend. The layout is easy enough to navigate, they have greeters (which I appreciate) in case you need directions. Found what I was looking for, and some extra items I needed that were priced right so felt like I scored. Lines at checkout were a little bit long, but marked well due to the pandemic, so ok in my book. I only use the garden center, however my handyman uses this store for household repair items and never has a problem finding what he needs. Will be back when I need more garden supplies, definitely recommend this home goods / repair store. read more

I tried curbside pick up for my first time and my order wasn't ready so I called. The girl said "sorry curbside takes 2 hours but you can come in and we'll release the items to you." So after I collected my items I walked up to a counter where FOUR staff were standing around doing absolutely nothing. She could've easily sent one of them to collect my TWO items. WHAT A JOKE. And when I showed the she/her my order number her coworker (hopefully not a manager because that'd be a bigger joke) YELLED at her and said "I told you not to close that screen!" "If you can build it we can help." Kids it's a home improvement store. They have just about everything for kitchen and bath fix ups, lamps, when it's that time of the year Grills, Christmas Trees and stuff and plants, flowers and herbs galore. Staff is pleasant and helpful enough. My only issue is actually knowing where the entrance/exit door is.. it's minor. They do have great sales and all kinds of fun stuff for your projects. This location is really close to where I live, so I usually go here for quick household errand needs. The parking lot is huge, as usually is the case for most Home Depots. I needed the snake for clogged drains, and it's $2.5 in aisle 10, works great. Service is quick. They have self-checkout stations. The staff was very helpful. read more

The recent activity on this page on the part of Home Depot shows how desperate they are to improve the image of this store. Home Depot preys on the dilettante, the DIYer who watches too much HGTV. "Oh, don't hire a professional, come to one of our classes, taught by one of our trained demagogues! We'll up sell you on a bunch of tough looking Chinese tools and flimsy building materials! You'll come back to buy more once you screw up your kitchen and your wife is tired of living in a tarp covered house!" God forbid if you are a trades person or a professional. I've had sales associates at this store runaway and hide, or downright give me bad information when I asked a question. I am under the impression most of the sales team here do not have any real field experience. The college kid in the plumbing department told me the coupling I was looking for didn't exist. (I found it in my own) The guy in hand tools said that Husky Tools were made by Snap On. (Ha! Yeah right!) and about that Ryobi garbage they hawk on the end cap, they'll bust your ass about getting a new battery under warranty. (I think you used this battery more than once. Sir, all of our Ryobi tools are disposable!) Show up 10 minutes before close and you'll encounter someone who would rather tell you to leave the store than help you find what you are obviously looking for. So why am I the "Duke" of this wretched excuse of a store? Easy, when the good independent hardware stores are closed and I need something in a pinch, Home Desperate is my last resort. This is a nice big store. I always felt like there are many workers but it is always hard to catch one's attention. In any case, I came looking for bathroom mirrors and had gone to a bunch of other places like Lowe's, Walmart, and Target without luck. However, they had the most selection here, many of them beautiful, and very well priced. There was also a bin with $29 large mirrors that worked perfectly. read more

A huge home depot and if you are a jack of all trades at home, this will be your oasis! From paint to plumbing, lumber to kitchen appliances; you name it, they've got it. My only quibble is that the place is well under-staffed. If you cannot locate an item or if you are any less of a handyman who has a lot of experience, you have to wait and look for quite a long time to find someone to help you out. Having said that, the staff are on top of their game. I had a question regarding the plumbing and different connections and faucets and the gentleman who worked there was beyond helpful. I came in for a light switch and random things. It has a ton of tools, things to fix up your home, and also some electronics. I saw light fixtures, cabinets, lamps, and even cleaning products. You can come in to buy a toilet, a bathtub, and gardening equipment. This place is huge. I think you can get lost in here. Just kidding. The people here are pretty friendly and helpful. read more

There really isn't anything special or terrible about this Home Depot. I can get in, get what I need and get out, which is just the shopping experience I'm looking for. They have the perfect balance of sales associates who do not hover, but are still around if they are needed. This balance is a hard one to achieve, especially for a major retail store. read more

This is a cautionary tale about Home Depot's Carpet and Installation business. I experienced the usual frustrations shopping in a large brick-and-mortal store. I want to warn about Home Depot's pricing of carpet installation. I have a small 2- bedroom 850 square ft condo. The carpet and padding purchase was a reasonable price (~$1300) and it was eligible for "free" installation. However, there was an additional charge of $99.00 for each and every piece of furniture they touched! Obviously, I had the place furnished through out, I count more than 40 items that needed to be moved in order to do the installation, which would add a cost of at least $4000 to Home Depot's (no longer a) "bargain" price. I could not afford this material and installation cost quoted by Home Depot. I was about to give up on the project, thinking this probably is the common cost for carpet replacement. I decided, however, to drive a mile up the road to Lowes Henrietta Home Improvement Store to investigate their policy on carpet installation. There was good news. After waiting the expected time to find an "Associate" who could help me, I was pleasantly surprised to discover their quote for the project. Again, the carpet and pad, along with free installation came to the same $1300 that Home Depot charge. However, there was no extra charge for moving furniture! (One understandable exception was $33.00 to handle an extremely heavy, unwieldy, office workstation.) The project was a real bargain and went forward without a hitch. I went in to order a quartz countertop at the Home Depot in Henrietta and there was only one person employee around who working with another couple. We understand waiting our turn but he didn't even acknowledge us. After almost 30 minutes of waiting around to get help with our order we left and they lost our sale. read more

Grrrawwrrr...I tried to give you a chance Home Depot but noo you had to be smell heads. Like I have stated before I'm not very fond of you but was impressed by the person who helped me buy my oven. So this holiday I headed to get more appliances for a kitchen makeover and can't say this experience was as pleasurable. Unfortunately they had the best price.... The sales rep was all frizzle frazzled trying to up sell other appliances I even stated "wow this microwave looks like a toaster oven" he says "yea it does everything like a toaster oven" Then I wondered...I must of at some point in my life got drunk and tatted the word "moron" somewhere visible. It's the only explination I have for that statement. Anyhoo.... Delivery was set for today and Home Beepo says between 2-6. So I head out early for errands then see I have a message saying that they came at 12. Fantastic. I get home and there's a number to call. I call and the guy says there was a note on the door saying leave deliveries with neighbors. Im like um no it says leave deliveries at side door..who the flip flop sampson would leave deliveries with their neighbors? Not I said the chicken but maybe that's because I despise mine lol. Even so I tell him that certainly doesn't include a refrigerator and microwave. I get put on hold for 10 min then get told they'll be back in the hour. This store has very poor customer service. I had an awful experience in the nursery department with a very unfriendly associate who had such a nasty attitude she should not be working in a customer service position. I needed help loading my car and was told by her to do it myself. I told her they helped me in the past and ask her to call for help and the person on the phone said to do it myself. I left and went to Lowe's where I was treated with respect and friendly assistance. This is not the first time I've been treated poorly by associates at the Home Depot. There seems to be a lot of people who 'work' there and it's always very difficult to find help and when I do it comes with resentful attitude. I will be shopping at Lowe's moving forward. read more

Had to pick up a sink at the Henrietta location the evening of March 16 that could not be delivered to our home or sent to the Victor location. The sink was at customer service as were 4 reps, all standing around conversing and looking at their phones with no other customers. When the transaction was rung up, it was $20 more than the online price and when we asked why, we we treated to eye rolling and hostile glares. One of the reps even tried to prove to us that the online price was the higher price, to which we showed him our online Home Depot search which clearly indicated the lower cost. After that, the employees ignored us and looked at there cell phones until we agreed to pay the higher price. At the end of the transaction, which was made by a (I assume) trainee, the cart with the sink was pushed in our direction with no offer to assist or even a "thank you." Needless to say, we will never be shopping here again read more

The few times I've been in the Jefferson Rd store aisle after aisle are crammed with shopping carts full of merchandise sometimes blocking the aisle. Looks like returns that should be taken care of by a night crew. Look for review on Gates store. read more

WRONG PAINT COLOR FIXED- I don't often write reviews unless I have either an exceptionally bad or good experience. I had a great experience at this Home Depot location. First day, I came in with a long list of paint colors to match; about 20 gallons. I worked with Keith who was very helpful and friendly. I noticed one of the colors was off. I wasn't 100% sure because i know colors can look different on different surfaces or lighting. After painting a swatch at home, it was definitely the wrong color! I went back and explained. Turns out, it was an honest mistake when selecting the color match in the computer. I asked for 4 gallons of Tranquility by Benjamin Moore, but was mistakenly given Tranquility by Sherwin Williams. That's over $120 worth of paint. I worked with Juan, the department head of paint, and he made it right without hassle. Custom/color matches are NOT REFUNDABLE. However, the situation was taken into consideration and they handled it with great customer service. read more
