Went here to celebrate my bday with friends and family. We decided to do the hibachi since we havent been to one for quite sometime now. Our chef was ok, he didnt do much flame tricks because we had a toddler with us. He wasnt as funny as the other ones I had before in the past. He seemed just tired of that day and seemed drained out. Let me start by saying this place HAS POTENTIAL. The sushi is good, but the service was terrible. I normally order out with my boyfriend and it's fine, but we dined in recently and it was extremely disappointing. The server never checked in on us. We did not receive any water. I had to wave him down to get some water. When the glasses were empty, no one came over to refill them. The server went around all the tables, but ours. We also received no soy sauce. I had to go inside to grab it. Forgot our appetizer and had to remind them to bring it. Worst part - no plates. We had to use napkins as our plates. Disappointing as the food is good. I used to come here when I lived in Spring Lake a long time ago when they first opened around 2001. I can still remember the video camera over the sushi bar with the the TV nearby to watch the sushi chef making your food. Due to the pandemic they only offered outdoor seating behind the restaurant. The sushi was just as good as I remembered all of those years ago. The 3 roll lunch special and a can of Sprite came to around $14, not bad. I really want to love Osaka at the station but the odds are stacked against our love affair. Parking is difficult on Main Street in Bradley. The inside is fine but a little icky and damp. The sushi. We have been dining at Osaka for more than five years. It has been consistently very good. The ambiance is pleasant. The service is attentive. It is a BYOB, we bring Saki which they heat up for us. The portions are generous and tasty. The prices are reasonable. This evening, we had another good dining experience at Osaka. We had entrees of Sushi Deluxe, $18.95 and Hibachi Scallops and Shrimp, $25.95. Both were delicious. If you want good Japanese food in this area, you can go to Taka in "hip" Asbury Park and end up with a bill twice as expensive (Taka is NOT a BYOB) or go to Osaka in Bradley Beach. This was our first time here. My first impression was it needed a little facelift. We were seated and given menus and they were dirty. So at this point I was a little nervous about what was about to eat. We ordered and our food was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. I have to say the sushi was super fresh and not the least bit fishy. The waiter brought our check which we didn't even ask for and we planned on ordering more. Sushi has always been my favorite food. Due to the quarantine period, most Japanese restaurants are not open. I was so excited to find Osaka was open in the mist of this chaos. I promptly ordered 4 rolls: shrimp tempura roll, eel avocado roll, spicy yellowtail roll, and salmon avocado roll. I don't particularly like ginger and wasabi. i I I requested it not be place to conserve waste. Sadly the rolls were medicore. It did the purpose of curving my sushi crave. There are definitely better locations for sushi. The rolls were poorly made and skimpy. They were falling apart as I picked them up. The eel roll was even seasoned with eel sauce. When I requested for eel sauce, I was given a half filled tiny container of eel sauce and charged $0.50. No soy sauce was provided. Would only return as a last resort. read more

Ordered, picked up, and ate within 30 minutes. The rice was mushy, and the sushi and vegetables were room temperature. The shrimp tempura was soggy and stuck in my teeth. Did not finish. I asked a question about food and her only response was a big NO ! ...with her head down not even looking at me....I said NO what ? Her response didn't make sense according to my question, as if she didn't understand, possibly didn't want to be bother with work. I tried another way and this time she's not responding at all, as if I wasn't even there. She needs to go. Learn customer service lady, learn respect and dignity, take pride on your work and take a few basic English lessons so you can understand people when they speak to you, or at list try to be polite and friendly ... this is the type of business you need to interact with humans and communication is the key, you want the business to come in and not scare the customers away. Ordered delivery. We were short $50 dollars worth of sushi on a $200 order. I called the restaurant. They told us it was all delivered. I told them I received the order from the delivery guy and there were several rolls missing. They basically told me "tough sh@t". Not appropriate at all. There were five of us and consensus was Japanese. None of us had ever tried it before so it was Osaka at the Station. Located on the east side of Main Street in Bradley right across from the (surprise!) train station. We had 6:30 reservations but probably didn't need them; it was about half full. I can't say I really liked the decor. I felt it was too dark and a bit drab, but that's not why we came. We were served by I guess whatever waiter/waitress was available at the time, and that's a good thing. Service was friendly and fast; perhaps too much so because we were on salads while some of the rolls came out. Prices were commensurate with what you get; no complaints there. BYOB too. Here's my take on what I had. I started with a seaweed salad. It was good but not nearly the best I've had. We got a salmon roll as an appy and a cucumber salad for the table. I didn't care for the cucumber salad but others did at the table. The salmon roll was good but the servers failed to bring out any wasabi and bowls for dipping. That was remedied quickly. For an entrée I chose the Bradley Special Maki which is spicy crap, shrimp tempura, and avocado. I asked for extra wasabi and I guess they brought it but it still wasn't enough. I like to burn a bit. The Bradley Special was very good but presentation not so much; see my pic. All things considered it was a decent place for Japanese. Maybe I'm too picky. read more

We ordered take out sushi and chicken & steak hibachi. They didn't give any steak, only chicken. And it was bland and dry. I've never had hibachi with no flavor. They only gave a half a cup of "fried" rice, which was also flavorless. Sushi was okay at best. Don't order the hibachi. There are a lot of restaurant choices in Bradley Beach and nearby Asbury Park. My children and I wanted to leave as soon as we sat down here. I recently moved to the Neptune City area for work and I brought my wife from Los Angeles to stay with me in December. She wanted to go to a good Japanese Restaurant and I looked and found Osaka At the Station. We met Jenny at the front door and she welcomed us in. She is very attentive and willing to provide the best dining experience in her "home". She assisted with the Menus suggesting items that fit our tastes and in my case food restrictions. In just a few minutes we were enjoying the best Japanese food we have had in a very long time and enough for two meals. We thanked her for her Hospitality and gave her a 50% tip. read more

I don't understand, I live on the beach, why can't I find an above average sushi place?! This is the question that plagues my mind as I try sushi place after sushi place, and Osaka was no exception. The prices are pretty good for the neighborhood and the service was nice, but they're missing something, I just can't put my finger on it. I walked in on a Friday afternoon and was the only patron there, that was weird. Then I noticed after I placed my order everyone was hovered around the sushi chef who was preparing my order. Now, I usually stick to simple sushi and uncomplicated rolls because well, I actually enjoy the taste of the fish and find keeping it simple maximizes on this so I didn't understand what all the hullabaloo was about. Finally, my food arrived, seaweed salad, spicy tuna roll no rice and on of their "signature" rolls. All I can say is meh. The only thing that tasted like it was supposed to was the seaweed salad.
