I've never been here and I finally made a reservation and came. Definitely a cool atmosphere. They had us in the back, but the vibe in the front of the bar was definitely where it was at. We split a bunch of appetizers. My favorite was the gyoza and rice ball, and we also got the Kani salad which was great, the spicy karaage also great but with a kick and the kakuni which was really good. I think the apps were by far my favorite. Got the red dragon which was good and the coconut shrimp and tiger which were awesome. They have individual bathrooms that got kind of dirty and overflowed with towels. The sushi rolls were a little pricey but I'd definitely come back and would want to sit in the bar area.

Food was delicious, service was fast and hospital. Overall a great experience with a great location.

The sushi is fresh and great. The service at the bar is sometimes a hit or miss but we always come back. We have had the habanero shrimp, and so many others sushi rolls. We were recommended the JanSan so will def try that when we come back. Super cute spot and vibes are always nice

Came here for my friends Bach dinner before going out for drinks and the food was INCREDIBLE! Everything was sooo fresh, had the perfect sweetness to the sushi rice, and the overall vibes were there It wasn't super super fancy, but more of a casual place to hang with friends. Quite loud inside, but that was of no issue to me! Our waiter was also knowledgeable about what certain foods had gluten, etc and presented us options and replacements for our friend who has food restrictions!

This is a local hot spot for sure. Make a reservation for a weekend dinner. The beautiful bar lighting and vast bar seating was impressive. The hostess brought us through a large dining room to a more quiet table in a back area. I drank hot tea and my friend multiple margs which he commented were fantastic. The beef Negamaki was tough and inedible. We informed the server and the item remained on the bill. The sushi and dumplings were excellent and well presented. The price point was typical for a Japanese dinner. We would return when visiting the shore.

Very fun restaurant perfect for date night or a night out with friends. It was very busy on a Saturday night highly recommend to call if you are trying to get a reservation and online it says they don't have anything available. The food was delicious.

This was a great sushi spot to pop into while visiting Asbury Park. I would've liked some lunch specials, but we were happy with the portion sizes and flavors. We tried the Ju-San roll, Asian pistachio salad, edamame, miso soup, and a crab roll that my little one loved. We also had a lychee lemonade as a mocktail option. The service was solid and prompt. There was plenty of space inside for everyone also.

What a neat place! Incredible ambiance with a lighting installation over the bar, mural, balloon wall for pics, and great bartender service. Only has drinks here, which were great, and the food looked amazing!

Taka is a go-to. It's my comfort spot. I don't know if they still have the tuna inari as I believe it was a special but I hope they continue to offer it or even make it a permanent item. It was so unique to see something like this in the area and it was perfect! What was even better was the meatloaf! I am definitely getting this again. Usually I get the braised short ribs but the meatloaf just became my favorite. Of course the ambiance is a 10/10 whether you sit at the bar or at a table.

I felt the menu was pricey, $9 for a cucumber roll is especially insane. Other than that the food was decent. It feels like captive pricing.

The restaurant was located in a multi-floor home on Wesley Lake, just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of Cookman Avenue. The first floor was more of a bar and lounge, and they had a live jazz band on the evening we visited. We checked in with the hostess and were escorted up to the second floor dining room, which was a charming spot that was breezy and comfortable, yet refined. The floor also had its own bar. Our server was on top of things, but was also clearly newer to the place. Regardless, once we got settled, she took our drink orders, which had taken us some time to decide on since the menu was creative and vast. I went with A Sidecar Named Desire, which included Courvoisier VSOP, Cointreau, Chinola passionfruit liqueur, and fresh lemon juice. I adore passion fruit and had always liked sidecars as well, so I figured it was worth a try, and I loved it! It had a good balance of tart sweetness and smokiness. My friend similarly enjoyed her spicy margarita, and we both imbibed while picking on some bread and herb butter. For our meal, we decided to start by sharing the Greek Salad, which was a massive bowl of romaine topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, red onions, and Kalamata olives. We left off the feta cheese, but enjoyed the seasoned dressing made of red wine vinegar, honey, salt, oregano, and olive oil. It was a fresh and flavorful mix of vegetables that was a pleasure to eat. The entree options were endless and offered something for everyone. I wound up going with the Chilean Sea Bass, which was served over sweet onions and potatoes in a tomato herb reduction. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. It was a light and tasty dish that seemed perfect for the Spring season. After our meals we were a bit too full for dessert, but we decided to get a second round of drinks, mainly because I was dying to try their Pistachio Espresso-Tini. Wow, was that drink delicious! It blended Ketel One Vodka, Mozart White Chocolate Liqueur, natural pistachio flavor, and fresh espresso. The coffee notes were not super prevalent, but the creaminess, nuttiness was the real highlight. It was a decadent way to end a delicious meal. After we settled the bill and headed downstairs, I noticed several bowls of after-dinner mints, which were a nice touch. From the relaxed atmosphere to the interesting and expansive menu, Moonstruck was a terrific option for our Asbury dinner experience.

My short rib ragu was actually delicious. Unfortunately, my wife saved me half her chicken dish and the piece I ate turned out to still be raw. I stopped eating once I noticed, but the damage was already done. Also, quick PSA on the dirty martini: it's shaken with blue cheese and comes out looking more like blue cheese dressing than a martini. Definitely not for everyone, so just know what you're signing up for.

You're only review, you've only been once and decide to go onto a public forum and give 1 star. Anyway off my soapbox. Pascal and Sabine not only has some of the best cocktails and bartenders in Asbury but possibly NJ. I have been countless times with my wife, my kids, large groups you name it. My favorite way to experience Pascal is to sit at the bar get a couple cocktails (The Jackal is a staple), the Madame Smith Burger (my wife gets the Mr Smith) the fries are amazing, and maybe the escargot and just enjoy. It's up there with some of the most perfect nights out in Asbury you can have. Hope this 5 star review balance out a ridiculous 1 star review. - YH

Lovely hostess, great round bar seating with huge windows for people watching, and a genuinely charming and attentive bartender (Mike). We started with oysters from Newfoundland and cheese off the happy hour menu -- both great. My mom loved her lavender French 75 (a drink special), and my white wine was perfect (the name escapes me at the moment). The garlic soup deserves awards. I first had it two summers ago and still think about it -- I made my mom try it and she immediately understood my rave reviews. For entrées, her burger was cooked perfectly medium-rare, and my fish & chips absolutely hit the spot. Both came with generous portions of house-made fries and an unexpectedly addictive house honey-mustard. We had enough fries for leftovers, and I even asked for extra mustard to take home. Food, service, atmosphere, lighting, noise level -- all dialed in. A 10/10 experience!

We got a few different kinds of drinks some including margarita's and one was a kiwi flavor drink. I think it was awesome that they gave us the option for different kind of salted rims. They're mostly known for their shared plate concepts so we got several items and split everything. We got the tostadas which was an interesting plate of a couple different things, the nachos which I loved, the ceviche which was ok-not your typical ceviche and bit too spicy for me, the salad which I really liked, camerones which the table liked, the pork tacos which I heard were very spicy, the chicken tacos which were good and the steak which was hands down my favorite and the yuca mash was so yummy and different. For the steak, you can only get it medium rare or well done which I is 2 complete ends of the spectrum. We are medium people, so we ended up getting a medium rare.
