The food here is always on point: our server was very attentive to our table , refilling the tea or getting whatever we needed. The place is clean and fresh looking

The food was amazing ! Service was quick and efficient and also very pleasant. I went when there wasn't much people there so the ambiance was great and the music was nice ! I would definitely come here again without a doubt !

Ordered takeout, arrived in a timely matter. The sushi was a great way to kick off my night, the sashimi was complemented fantastically by the complementary sauces included in the package. The chicken was a bit chewy, however the teriyaki sauce made up for the flavor. The steak was seasoned to perfection and cooked to perfect medium rare. The rice was a bit bland, yet the veggies were a dashing touch. The ambiance of this restaurant is quite nice. Over all 4/5- Tom Kim

Good sushi, but slow service. Very slow. I think we waited 30 minutes for the sushi to come out. Tbh the sushi quality really exceeded my expectations for Jersey. The waitress did get my order wrong but it was still good.

Good sushi and easy pick up! The Valentine Roll was my favorite - but the sushi tasted fresh and delish. I also loved the fried rice

Went Wednesday around 2pm. We were the only ones there. Quick kind service. Sushi was soooo yummy. $31 for these two rolls.

Best sushi around. I usually get take out and no matter what I order, they never disappoint. Fresh food and pleasant staff.

That's my thumb. That's how much sauce I got for 50 Cents.

Saturday evening 6/4/22 I placed an order with them on Grubhub. I wouldn't consider myself a regular, but I do place a to-go order frequently. How they would know this, is that I always ask for sushi rolls to be cut into 8 pcs. (I like to share with my young niece and her mouth is small, lol) And every single time I order, I always put in instructions to skip the soy sauce, mentioning that I have plenty at home (this also includes my sis's house when I'm ordering from there). When I'm at home, I have my own chopsticks, so I tell them to skip them also. (When at sis's, we need chopsticks.) I'm trying to help small businesses to save on costs. ..... I mean why get this stuff when I already have it? There is also an option to ask for utensils and napkins, which I never, ever ask for. Now, if I add an order of dumplings, I always ask for extra gyoza sauce. I have never, ever, ever been charged for this minor addition, assuming it's because I asked them to leave out the soy sauce? or maybe not, who really knows? So now, back to my to-go order this past Saturday, 6/4/22. I ordered a few rolls and had mentioned to skip the soy sauce, that I had it at home. I asked for chopsticks for 2 people. I also placed an order of dumplings, but I forgot to ask for extra gyoza sauce. I get there to pick it up, with my usual cash tip in my pocket. I ask for the extra gyoza sauce. A young girl with an 'attitude' says to me: "you got 50 cents?"... She wasn't moving until I gave it to her. I gave her a buck, she gave me back 50 cents and THEN went to get the extra sauce. What really irked me is that she comes back with some teeny weeny holder that was less than half full of sauce. (See the pic below, my thumb is there for scale). I then THROW my 50 cents change into the tip jar. With MY attitude, I say: "Here, you go, and btw, I asked that there be NO soy sauce". I will get sushi there again, because it is really, really good, but that 50 cents is gonna cost them a whole lot more because of 'Mz Attitude'. From now on, I'm gonna let them give me all the soy sauce that needs to be with each order. I'm gonna let them give me all the chop sticks that needs to be with each order. I'm gonna also ask for napkins and utensils (an option on the Grubhub site). And, I'm never again leaving a tip for a to-go order. Really, the straw was charging me 50 cents for the size/portion of the gyoza sauce. That's what set me on fire. (see the pic below)

Asahi is a solid sushi place in the area. The prices are reasonable and the lady at the hostess stand was very friendly. The fish was very fresh and all the rolls were delicious. The Black Jack Roll was good but in my opinion the wasabi Mayo was a bit strong with the spicy Mayo on there as well. But overall great take out meal. Spider roll and Maki combo were phenomenal. The place was busy which is always a good sign and a very short distance from my house. All around good vibes at this spot!

Loved this place!!! It's getting 4 stars bc of the price, $35 for three rolls, Alittle on the pricey side but it was absolute delicious. I probably would buy again (: very convenient and nice to buy to eat by the water

Simple, but good quality food well executed and served at a reasonable price. I had broiled fluke (I wish more restaurants served this instead of the ubiquitous Bronzino - which is a cheap farmed fish from Turkey) - a healthy serving of very fresh fish cooked deftly- cooked through, but not dried out. Broccoli came with it and I also ordered a side of sautéed spinach - both were delicious as well. The entrée came with a small salad, which was undistinguished. I saw many ribeyes coming out of the kitchen, they looked great. Thick and perfectly cooked medium rare. I'm going to have one of those the next time. The tomato and mozzarella appetizer was not great - middle of summer in New Jersey and the tomatoes were barely better than the hot house ones you get in February. Service was friendly and efficient, we arrived without a reservation and had to wait roughly 30 minutes for two seats at the bar. Reservations are recommended. Whatever shortfalls it may have as a restaurant are more than made up with the reasonable prices - think half of La Mondina. One thing to know - there was an unwelcome and unwanted Trump 2020 bumper sticker stuck over the bar. You would think whoever owns the place would take it off considering he's the least popular president since Jimmy Carter. I prefer my food without politics, please. That said, I'm definitely going back.

The first time we visited, our table was directly next to the bathroom, which wasn't ideal, but the food and drinks were so good that it made up for it. We decided to come back again last night, and once again, the food was wonderful. The veal parmesan was amazing. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. We arrived at 7:25 for a 7:30 reservation but weren't seated until around 7:50. We then didn't receive our drinks until about 8:20, and our food didn't come out until around 9:00. Giving four stars because the food truly is amazing and has been consistently great every time we've visited. I've always heard good things, and I thought the food stood up to the reputation. The restaurant was packed on a Monday night, which was probably a good sign for what led to a delicious meal. I really enjoyed the roasted oysters topped with yummy breadcrumbs. My daughter enjoyed a sushi appetizer and wedge salad with blackened tuna that she claimed was delicious as well. Our other dinner partner enjoyed his halibut. I really loved the show-stopping, gigantic jumbo lump crab meat risotto. It was very filling, but super delicious. The food was rich and, in some ways, basic, but executed perfectly. I added some of the street corn and that really made things even better get this dish. You won't be disappointed. The atmosphere was busy, if not hectic. Our table was in the middle of the room, next to a large family with little kids. One was seven months old and the other was two. That seemed like a bit much for a dinner with these price points. It's not an inexpensive restaurant and certainly not a family-vibe Houlihan's. We stopped by Lubrano's after strolling the boardwalk wanting to avoid the greasy boardwalk eats. I wasn't expecting much since it just seemed like your standard pizzeria with a dining area, but I was surprised to learn the food offerings are elevated and done right. We came at an odd time, right in between lunch and dinner, but thankfully we're given the option to order off the lunch menu if we wanted. The lobster & crab bisque was one of the items on the lunch menu that I ordered - and the portion was MASSIVE. The flavor was there, but to my disappointment there were no signs of crab or lobster meat in this soup whatsoever, not even one chunk of meat. The appetizer salads given to every person who ordered an entree were a decent size, and the balsamic dressing packed a punch. I opted for the spicy rigatoni and once again, the portion size was healthy and the flavors were great. I tried some of the other dishes at the table, including the special of the day: monkfish, and all entrees were done well. It may have been an off day, but our waitress didn't seem too happy to serve us and would often cut us off mid sentence when ordering / asking a question. Often times she seemed irritated and short with the questions we asked regarding menu options, but I'll give Lubrano's the benefit of the doubt that this isn't their standard. Overall, this is a solid restaurant for Italian food and would definitely return when in the area!

We started with the bread, a focaccia, which was served with an olive oil that had a large roasted garlic in it. It was a delicious starter, and complimented our Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was 'different' - aren't they all? I've been experiencing very different types - the one tonight had a subtle dressing - with a subdued sweetness. The grated Parmesan and Breadcrumbs smothered the salad - when you see the picture, you'll understand. It was a good salad, however I would have preferred less grating and more dressing. Next up, the Waygu Meatballs, in a delicious San Marzano tomato sauce. The meatballs were excellent. I was mystified by the accompanying 'jar' of 'basil' ricotta. See attached picture-it's a large amount of ricotta - I tasted it - it was very creamy but the basil was faintly noticeable. I added a little to a meatball and it didn't enhance the 'bite' at all. I was embarrassed leaving this large jar of cheese. We shared the two entrees - the first, Sea Bass on a bed of mashed potatoes was cooked perfectly and had the most delicate taste. It was 'too delicate', if there is such a thing as- for they say, ' good fish, doesn't taste like fish '. However, the fish needed seasoning or sauce - one or the other, or both. The next entree was the mushroom house made ravioli - a tender pasta with a mushroom filling covered in a creamy, earthy mushroom sauce. We also ordered a side of sautéed wild mushrooms and added those to the ravioli - it was a wonderful dish.

Disco fries were enough to feed an army and the gravy was absolutely delicious. The sautéed spinach - fresh and seasoned perfectly. The stuffed branzino (a Special) was fresh and citrusy. I never get stuffed fish because it's always full of breading and crab which I don't prefer. This was stuffed with summer squash and fennel julienned into a spaghetti as well as orange slices. The flavor was so fresh and enjoyable. The potatoes that came on the side and the lemon caper sauce rounded it out nicely. We packed half our food to go to save room for dessert. Espresso perfectly poured, gelato sundae, mini jelly donuts (to die for!)
