The tempura was not fried properly and was gummy on the inside, my spicy crawfish roll barely had any filling and was 80% rice.

They…read morehave much to improve on -decor, paint, color theme- if they are infact just starting I can't bash them for that as the funds for such things may be tight due to many factors. My Concern is with the menu. More specifically the portions and how they don't match the menu. When I got the RICKY ROLL it look nothing like the picture on the menu. like they aren't even trying. Also Boba tea was advertised online but I found it nowhere on the menu given or even on a sign inside. Very disappointing when good Boba is hard to come by. I would still give them 5 stars because the food was still delicious. And the 2 for 1 deal is awesome. But perhaps this establishment is aiming more for a takout/ Togo vibe?

Absolutely the worst food I've tried at a Yamato. The two tiny spring rolls were so dry and no filling. The California roll was just rice and cucumber, and the soba noodles were bland and mushy as well. The yum yum sauce was pure mayo. They also tried to charge us for more drinks than we ordered, and our receipt was hand written without prices. We paid $80 for this ridiculous excuse for Japanese food. I guess we should have taken the empty parking lot during dinner rush as a sign.

Locals know this place is great. If you're traveling to Hattiesburg for any reason, like a…read moregraduation or baseball game or football game. This is the review for you. There are absolutely no shortages of places to eat in Hattiesburg. Some visiting might lean towards safe places with menu items they feel secure and safe with, and there's nothing wrong with that. But, if that's you you're missing out on some amazing food. Today I took my wife for mother's day as they had some special items on their menu, while also keeping their regular menu available. We started with their standard dumpling appetizer. We get it everytime we eat there and they're delicious every time. The meals we picked were the the kimchi cabanara and the shrimp and grits. Both on their special mother's day menu. Both were absolutely delicious with fresh ingrediants, balanced seasonings and amazing flavors. I'm Italian and grew up eating traditional family Sunday dinners but this bowl of pasta was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere of the place is very modern with a combination of traditional asian features mixed with some modern MTV inspired artwork. If you're into craft cocktails they got you covered as well. The only miss we had to day was our server never came back to take our dessert order, when we asked to order it he confused what we said for the bill and brought that instead. Not a deal breaker, we were actually too full for it anyway and we've had their desserts before. They always inventive and delicious. At the end of the day, one small service hiccup wasn't enough to overshadow what was an outstanding meal and experience. In a city packed with chain restaurants and predictable menus, places like this are what make Hattiesburg's food scene worth exploring. If you're willing to step outside your comfort zone a little, you'll be rewarded with creative dishes, quality ingredients, and flavors you'll still be thinking about on the drive home. We'll absolutely be back.

I came to Big Trouble excited for some ramen and left with a bowl that mostly tasted…read morelike...confusion. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Katsu Ramen, and unfortunately the "spicy" part must have taken the day off. The chicken katsu itself had less flavor than most fast-food chicken patties, which is a tough comparison to lose when you're floating in a $20 bowl of ramen. The broth seemed to rely almost entirely on the chili oil for personality, but instead of bringing heat, it mostly just gave the broth a slightly odd flavor. Not spicy, not rich--just kind of...there. Oddly enough, the noodles ended up being the most flavorful thing in the bowl (aside from the egg), which is not exactly the headline you want for ramen. Now the bright spot: my server, Eden. Absolute 5-star service. Friendly, attentive, and the kind of server that makes you feel welcome even when your meal is slowly disappointing you. If this review were based on service and ambiance alone, I would be handing out 5 stars. Honestly, I've had instant ramen packets that cost about $0.25 deliver more flavor. The only reason I finished most of bowl was because once you paid $20 for plain noodles, and gave up your only time to get food, there's a certain stubborn determination to see it through.

However, at the same time, you are happy that you did. So, let's get into the nitty-gritty of this review. The first time I went there for lunch, I sat in a booth so I could work while eating. So, I tried the Shrimp Teriyaki Box. It was terrific. So much so that I decided to order my dinner to go: the Steak and Salmon Hibachi Dinner Combo. I had my steak medium well. Later that evening, when I partook of my dinner, that steak was SO tender, juicy, and melted in my mouth. There is nothing like a good cut of meat and someone who knows how to cook it just right. The next day, one of my colleagues was interested in trying it after I told her about it. We ordered the following: Hibachi Fuji Yama Combination, Gyoza, Tempura Combo APP, along with a Fried California Roll, which was a first for me. But you're talking about some kind of good. The service on every occasion was fantastic; the staff were very attentive and cheerful, offering recommendations if you were unsure of anything. The atmosphere was engaging, clean, and not too noisy, where you can not only hear yourself think but also the other people in your party. If you're in the area, treat yourself to this restaurant; it's worth it.

Say we're sitting at had a birthday and it took about 30 minutes to start and nobody else was in the restaurant but our one table I asked my waited twice when will the food start because it seemed like we were sitting for so long? Once the show started, it was OK we love hibachi so we eat it a lot all over the country maybe in about 30 hibachi places but this is where it goes wrong. The Chef messed up our order and didn't have all the food for our order and then didn't make it so we order the salmon and shrimp. We didn't get any shrimp but he gave our appetizer shrimp to everyone else at the table except us even though shrimp was part of my hibachi order. Mention it to the Chef he shrugged it off as if he didn't care and they were very clean . If you're in Hattiesburg driving through like we were keep driving and find something else
