Relatively new restaurant in Columbia and we have seen lots of cars there as we pass by so we decided to try it. I had the chicken and shrimp and my wife had the scallops and shrimp. They came with onion soup which has very little flavor. Sort of lightly greasy with a hint of salt. It did have a few slivers of mushrooms floating around in it but a big disappointment. The chicken portion of my meal was OK but nothing special, the shrimp portion was inedable. The shrimp were old, or been left out to long, or something. I've eaten a lot of shrimp dishes in my life and I don't believe you could have achieved this flavor with seasoning. My wife's shrimp tasted the same way. Her scallops had a fishy old flavor also. For what we paid and what we got it was one of the biggest disappoints in restaurants I've had.

The restaurant has changed hands in the past year and I haven't had a chance to sample the updated facility.

Locals know this place is great. If you're traveling to Hattiesburg for any reason, like a…read moregraduation or baseball game or football game. This is the review for you. There are absolutely no shortages of places to eat in Hattiesburg. Some visiting might lean towards safe places with menu items they feel secure and safe with, and there's nothing wrong with that. But, if that's you you're missing out on some amazing food. Today I took my wife for mother's day as they had some special items on their menu, while also keeping their regular menu available. We started with their standard dumpling appetizer. We get it everytime we eat there and they're delicious every time. The meals we picked were the the kimchi cabanara and the shrimp and grits. Both on their special mother's day menu. Both were absolutely delicious with fresh ingrediants, balanced seasonings and amazing flavors. I'm Italian and grew up eating traditional family Sunday dinners but this bowl of pasta was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere of the place is very modern with a combination of traditional asian features mixed with some modern MTV inspired artwork. If you're into craft cocktails they got you covered as well. The only miss we had to day was our server never came back to take our dessert order, when we asked to order it he confused what we said for the bill and brought that instead. Not a deal breaker, we were actually too full for it anyway and we've had their desserts before. They always inventive and delicious. At the end of the day, one small service hiccup wasn't enough to overshadow what was an outstanding meal and experience. In a city packed with chain restaurants and predictable menus, places like this are what make Hattiesburg's food scene worth exploring. If you're willing to step outside your comfort zone a little, you'll be rewarded with creative dishes, quality ingredients, and flavors you'll still be thinking about on the drive home. We'll absolutely be back.

I came to Big Trouble excited for some ramen and left with a bowl that mostly tasted…read morelike...confusion. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Katsu Ramen, and unfortunately the "spicy" part must have taken the day off. The chicken katsu itself had less flavor than most fast-food chicken patties, which is a tough comparison to lose when you're floating in a $20 bowl of ramen. The broth seemed to rely almost entirely on the chili oil for personality, but instead of bringing heat, it mostly just gave the broth a slightly odd flavor. Not spicy, not rich--just kind of...there. Oddly enough, the noodles ended up being the most flavorful thing in the bowl (aside from the egg), which is not exactly the headline you want for ramen. Now the bright spot: my server, Eden. Absolute 5-star service. Friendly, attentive, and the kind of server that makes you feel welcome even when your meal is slowly disappointing you. If this review were based on service and ambiance alone, I would be handing out 5 stars. Honestly, I've had instant ramen packets that cost about $0.25 deliver more flavor. The only reason I finished most of bowl was because once you paid $20 for plain noodles, and gave up your only time to get food, there's a certain stubborn determination to see it through.

Just when I think I have written enough reviews and that there is nothing else to say, I go into a…read morerestaurant, and then I happen to find a place that you weren't expecting by accident. However, at the same time, you are happy that you did. So, let's get into the nitty-gritty of this review. The first time I went there for lunch, I sat in a booth so I could work while eating. So, I tried the Shrimp Teriyaki Box. It was terrific. So much so that I decided to order my dinner to go: the Steak and Salmon Hibachi Dinner Combo. I had my steak medium well. Later that evening, when I partook of my dinner, that steak was SO tender, juicy, and melted in my mouth. There is nothing like a good cut of meat and someone who knows how to cook it just right. The next day, one of my colleagues was interested in trying it after I told her about it. We ordered the following: Hibachi Fuji Yama Combination, Gyoza, Tempura Combo APP, along with a Fried California Roll, which was a first for me. But you're talking about some kind of good. The service on every occasion was fantastic; the staff were very attentive and cheerful, offering recommendations if you were unsure of anything. The atmosphere was engaging, clean, and not too noisy, where you can not only hear yourself think but also the other people in your party. If you're in the area, treat yourself to this restaurant; it's worth it.

Where do we start first off? What offputting is before you sit down? They're like oh yeah we have…read morean additional charge for hibachi so after you come in and you're waiting for a seat they tell you this so it's such a weird tone for the service. Say we're sitting at had a birthday and it took about 30 minutes to start and nobody else was in the restaurant but our one table I asked my waited twice when will the food start because it seemed like we were sitting for so long? Once the show started, it was OK we love hibachi so we eat it a lot all over the country maybe in about 30 hibachi places but this is where it goes wrong. The Chef messed up our order and didn't have all the food for our order and then didn't make it so we order the salmon and shrimp. We didn't get any shrimp but he gave our appetizer shrimp to everyone else at the table except us even though shrimp was part of my hibachi order. Mention it to the Chef he shrugged it off as if he didn't care and they were very clean . If you're in Hattiesburg driving through like we were keep driving and find something else
