We sat at our own table work the grill and ordered the pick 2 for 16.99, we chose steak and shrimp, and I ordered the lunch hibachi lobster. The chef came out after around 10 minutes and gave us the whole show. Fried rice was good but just a tad salty. The salad was depressing as was the miso soup which had no seaweed and no tofu. The steak was over cooked for a medium rare, and the shrimp and lobster were also too salty. Ordered crab puffs as an appetizer, it was terrible, literally hot cream cheese in a fried wonton wrap. All in all food was ok, service was good. I would recommend this place if you're looking for some hibachi fun. FYI a grill can seat up to around 20 people if you want to have a dinner or lunch party. read more

The salmon and peppered tuna sashimi was fresh and delicious. For my main entrée, I had a simple, thin noodle and grilled beef plate that was perfectly prepared and very good. Miso soup isn't my thing, so I ordered the dumpling soup (had to pay extra), and two rolls of sushi....Both supposedly of the spicy varieties. The soup was good, the salad was as basic as it gets (lettuce and ginger dressing), but the sushi was just not good. First, there was nothing spicy about it. It was bland and certainly not fresh tuna or salmon. I've eaten there before and the sushi was excellent. Maybe it was below mediocre because it was lunch, but that's no excuse. Let me start off by saying my family and I are frequent customers here, typically ordering food for Pick Up. We decided to dine in not knowing it was the start of the worst service we've ever had in our lives. We ordered Dr. Pepper and Diet Coke, and the taste was right off the bat, off putting. It must be a generic brand cheap soda they were serving us. When we got our Soup, it wasn't even hot. One of the four soups was steaming hot, while the others were luke warm at best. I ordered what I normally get from them, which was a Crabmeat Salad. It's shredded crabmeat mixed in a mayo of some sort and topped with Panko. What they brought out was a Kani Salad. When I told the server that this wasn't right, she asked the sushi cook behind the counter and relayed that they had no idea what we were talking about. I explained I always get this and it's even on the menu.. and made us feel we were stupid for ordering something like that. They then tried to give me a few imitation crab sticks and call it a Crab Meat Salad.. which I sent back right away, not even having the plate touch the table. My nephews food came out first, he ordered Teriyaki Shrimp Bento. The Egg Roll had blown up and the inside was non existent and most likely in the fryer. What was extremely troubling was his Teriyaki Shrimp was on a cold sizzling platter.. with raw white onions and over cooked shrimp. I forgot to mention that they didn't even put Teriyaki Sauce on the dish. None. Zero. Zilch. My brothers food came out next a long wait later, and he ordered the Chicken Katsu... it was dried overcooked chicken with no Katsu sauce. What in the world is going on?? My food came next and it was Sashimi. Can't really go wrong there.. well apparently you have to eat it with a fork. The server ignored us for a while and I just wanted some chop sticks. My husband ended up getting up and grabbing a pair at the Sushi Bar. So three out of the four had their food, and politely we waited until he got his.. and we waited.. and waited... and well.. it just never came. We asked where the food was at and the server said that they were waiting on a California Roll.... But why not just give him the hot food so it doesn't get cold? It came out and he ordered the Tempura Shrimp Bento.. Tempura Dipping Sauce was missing and the food was cold. The rice wasn't cooked and we just had about enough. We called the manager.. which we saw her when we came in just sitting and playing on her phone. Then noticed she went to the office and took a nap.. after waking her up, she came out and asked us what was wrong. We told her what happened and her response was.. "let me get you some Teriyaki Sauce". No. That is not gonna do. We told her to remake the food. She reluctantly took the plate, but by that time it was clear this service couldn't be saved. I've only walked out of a restaurant once before and this one definitely takes the cake for worst service. The manager still didn't understand why we were upset, why we didn't like the food, the service and just blankly said okay as we left. I would advise everyone to avoid this place. There's Sushi Koi down the road and I know for sure it'll be good. Also, FYI, I've been in the food industry for 17 years and I am pretty understanding when it comes to forgetting things or a lapse in service, but I can't accept poor management, unprofessionalism and lack of hospitality. The best way I can summarize the experience I had here is by comparing it to a stress test scene in a Gordon Ramsey show or Bar Rescue where the kitchen and staff completely fall apart under pressure...only there was no real stress happening at Osaka lol - there was a 6 top finishing up their meals at lunch time as we walked in and maybe a 10 top also cashing out. Once these two bigger tables left, the restaurant only had maybe 2-3 tables left with 1-2 guests at each table. - no A/C in the restaurant - it took 15-20 minutes to get our drink orders - we ordered an appetizer (crab puffs) that were burnt so badly the filling was scorched and tasted disgusting. The edges were so hard from being overcooked you could have thrown them through a plate glass window - my husband ordered 2 basic sushi rolls and received a wrong one - about 5-10 minutes later they brought out my meal which was also incorrect and I suspect undercooked It was a completely unpleasant experience. And the worst part is we settled on this place over Akashi in Summerwood. So I'll use this part of the review to plug a much better restaurant, check out Akashi on W Lake Houston Pkwy for a MUCH better experience. This was our original lunch choice but we settled on Osaka because it was closer which was a huge, disgusting mistake. read more

if there is any amount of rush my order is always sloppy and or just wrong asked for no cucumbers add avocado and it's on both receipts there's cucumbers on every roll with avocado ??? and so rushed I'd rather my food come out later and look presentable... In from out of town looking for a local spot, based off the reviews gave it a try. The sushi was good, tasteful and fresh. The calamari was the best, hot and fresh great flavor. The sexy lady roll was very good if you like ahi not cooked! The Cuban roll was quite different the mango sauce, not my favorite with the semi sweet flavor but glad i tried it. The volcano roll was the best, just enough spice could of been a bit spicier. The Philly roll was smoked salmon and that is squires taste, didn't care for it. My husband and I stopped here for lunch. I tend to have a sensitive stomach, but everything sat well. We had sushi tuna Tataki, and a habachi Meal. Everything was good, I Honestly liked the vegetables, the most! The only thing that irritated me was the fan that they had running in the corner, yes, I appreciated that kept the temperature nice and they're not overly hot, but for future knowledge, I will request to sit on the opposite side of the table so easy fix! I must say this was not a bad place at all. Parking was easy because in a shopping strip. You don't have to have hibachi if you don't want that. They have another part of the restaurant where you can just order off the menu and eat a regular tables. We did the hibachi and it was excellent. I has salmon and it was cooked to perfection with a nice flavor, not over seasoned as sometimes happen at these types of restaurants. The table I sat at had a very nice family which made the experience even better. The service was good, very typical you have to ask if you want a refill but this is very common for these restaurants.
