The saying 'you get what you pay for' is most commonly used to say that something cheap is probably not very good.. Well that saying definitely applies here. I ordered the two roll combo (philadelphia roll and spicy crunchy shrimp roll) w/ miso soup for $7.95 and a grizzly roll for $8.50. Philadelphia roll - this roll had a weird taste and smell to it.. I couldn't figure out if it was the fish or cream cheese that was the reason for the smell.. I couldn't bring myself to finish the roll. Spicy crunchy shrimp roll - Please look at the picture I posted of this roll. The menu didn't explain the contents of the roll, but just from the name I assumed it would be a roll with shrimp in the middle, tempura flakes on the outside, and some kind of spicy sauce incorporated somewhere in the roll... I was somewhat right.. Except that the tempura flakes were inside the roll (why?!) and there's no way I could have predicted how little shrimp would be in the roll.. It's like they took one shrimp, cut it in half, and then cut those halves into enough small pieces to be able to call it a shrimp roll. This roll goes down as one of the worst rolls I've ever had in my life. Downright awful. Grizzly - The only roll that tasted decent. 10 big and full pieces for $8.50, you can't really beat that. I would order this again if I ever decide to come back. If you're someone that cares more about quality regardless of price then this place is not for you. If you're like me and you care more about quantity and low prices over quality then this place might be for you.. As for me, I don't think i'll ever be visiting again.

Just recently moved to the East side of Houston and it is honestly hard to find good Asian food nearby. I am so thankful to have found this place. The girlfriend really liked her yummy roll and I ordered the shaggy dog and pork tonkatsu. There was a lot more meat than I was expecting in the tonkatsu and the thicker slices were actually the juiciest. Sushi was solid. Ton katsu was good. Will be coming back here soon now that we found a good sushi spot nearby.

Deep fired Katsu. It's misspelled so you know this place is legit!!!

This is a good spot for super cheap Americanized sushi. If you set your expectations right, you can really enjoy this place. We ordered the 64 piece Sushi Dish called Ocean Garden. This includes 24 California rolls, 16 Cooked Tuna rolls, 8 tempura rolls, 8 eel rolls, and 8 "chef special roll"... all for $39.99! With all that sushi for little price, who can resist? The only catch is that the California rolls were just cheap fillers, but you get what you pay for. The rest were really good but our favorite was the Chef Special and Tempura roll. The chef special was lightly fried with cream cheese in the middle and topped with this crab meat (possibly imitation). It's not fancy or authentic, but it's so good! Oh, and forgot to mention, the order comes with four bowls of miso soup! We also ordered 8 pc of Rainbow roll for just $7.95. This was one of the few rolls that actually had cuts of raw fish (I.e. salmon and yellowtail) which was a nice change of pace from the Ocean Garden. Lastly, we ordered the Hamachi Kama, which translates to yellowtail collar (thank you Google lol). It's very flavorful and some may even argue that it's the best cut of the fish. I can definitely vouch for that! It's only $6.95 here which is a good value. If you aren't looking for fancy and authentic sushi but just something good to eat, this is your place! Just don't expect Uchi or MF. This is what the East side has to offer!

This place is very good and has great service thanks to Katherine. Also the manager was making sure people were enjoying their food. We ordered the spicy miso soup, grizzly roll, and the fancy dragon roll. It all tasted really good!!

Sushi and sushi roll tasted great, service is great too. The sushi I ordered was very fast and it had a piece of seran wrap on it. I assume rolls are pre made for quick lunches. Other than that, I would recommend.

They scammed my friend by committing fraud. They added a tip to the ticket after he had already left a tip in cash.

Something so simple was transformed into something memorable. And the dessert? Absolutely spectacular. The presentation alone deserved applause, but somehow the flavor exceeded even that. It was one of those desserts you keep thinking about long after you leave. This wasn't just dinner -- it felt like an experience. Easily a 10/10, and honestly, it deserves even higher. We were one of only a few tables on a Tuesday evening and we had very attentive service! Our server came back for many, many sushi, sashimi and nigiri requests. We started off with our appetizers - I especially enjoyed the shumai and yellowtail jalapeño. We put in a ton of sashimi orders which came out pretty quickly! We also put in several specialty roll orders at the beginning of dinner though those came out later in our meal. By then, we were getting full from quite a few nigiri and sashimi pieces - though we did have a lot of orders which probably got a bit confusing! When the specialty rolls (the stars of the show) arrived, we took our Yelp-worthy pics of a gorgeous sushi boat before we dug in! The boat made for such a great presentation and it was so easy for all of our party to reach in and grab a few pieces. The standout of the night was the namesake Yamamori roll - that eel, tuna and avocado combo was such a hit! I enjoyed all the other specialty rolls as well. For dessert I had a few bites of my friend's green tea and was so impressed - the flavor was very well-balanced and not too sweet. I had a full serving of the red bean strawberry ice cream - it was my first time having a red bean flavored ice cream and I really liked it! I found that it balanced the sweetness of the strawberry well. My friends opted for the banana and Oreo tempura which looked delicious. This is a great AYCE option if you are in the Pearland area, and it's worth the drive even if you live elsewhere!

This time we ventured…read moreto Haley M.'s part of town to try Yamamori, one of the few AYCE sushi restaurants in Pearland. On Tuesday evening, we were 1 of 3 occupied tables and received fantastic, attentive service - our server was very patient with us as we awaited our full party's arrival and perused the lengthy menu, which AYCE enthusiasts will notice is very similar to that of Sushi Masa. Before long, our hot appetizers arrived quickly to the table, followed by the chilled/marinated tataki, which helped assuage our ravenous appetites! It took a little longer for our nigiri and sashimi to arrive, but we quickly divvied up the fresh, well-portioned spoils. Note that yellowtail/hamachi is not listed on the AYCE menu, though our server confirmed that it is available to order. Our selection of rolls took the longest to arrive - yet they were well worth the wait! The namesake Yamamori roll and the lemon-inflected Nemo roll were standouts; all the maki were well-sized, sturdily constructed, and tasted distinct from one another. We concluded our episode of gluttony with banana tempura à la mode, a deliciously crispy and creamy end to our sushi feast. While I typically batch our group orders to help out our servers, I think it may have worked against us as we ended up waiting longer for large sashimi and maki plates as opposed to smaller, personal orders. It's possible that our wait time was simply a reflection of their level of staffing for a weeknight; it's hard to predict how things might flow on the weekend when there are both more sushi chefs and more tables. All in all, Yamamori is a solid choice for folks in Pearland and south Houston - I'd come back if they added seared options to the menu or if I found myself craving sushi in the area!
