So I've been passing by this place for the better part of a decade without ever stopping in. Today, I decided to stop in and was very glad that I did! I ordered the pork fried rice and the Eye Round Steak with Brisket Pho and both were absolutely amazing and delicious! I've seen a lot of people complain about products being stored on the floor and the restaurant kinda being a dive, but they're in a small space and let's face it, this whole area is a dive. I ordered pho with lean meat to go, ordered a large. Was disappointed it didn't come in the big take out box, it came in the little box that folds, I feel like the portion was for a small. Otherwise the pho broth was decent and the meat was lean. Can't speak about the service or atmosphere as my bf was the one that picked up the to go order. Very poor service and food quality is the worst I've seen. They were prepping food out in the dining area and hallway by the bathroom. I think it was an owner who took our order but he was very rude to me and my daughter, it felt very much like we were not very welcome there. I ordered the #8 pho with beef and meatballs, I didn't even get a whole meatball I got a half of one that was cut in half as well.. maybe 3 slices of beef. Not worth the $35 I spent there. Despite the years, this place hasn't change at all. It's like a living photograph from yesterday. The same people still runs the show, ensuring the flavors remain intact, unpretentious, and true to their roots. It's not trying to be haute cuisine, and it doesn't need to be. There are not that many Vietnamese Restaurants in the North Shore area and I will say that this place is a definite hole in the wall. Inside it's not the prettiest place you may find in Houston, but the food honestly speaks for itself. I'm assuming family owned and authentic as it can get. I tried the Vietnamese Grilled Pork Sandwich which was delicious. The bread was a Vietnamese French Baguette and traditional filled sandwich with cilantro, jalapeño, pickled carrots and more. We also got our go-to Grilled Pork and Rice which had a good flavor and a spicy fish sauce. The ladies that worked there were super sweet and the elder or grandmother of the restaurant gave us our food that we ordered to go. No pictures of the food because I forgot.. but next time I'll definitely snap a few for the Yelp. (Considering there will be a next time, I do recommend this place.) read more

Dinner was delish! I got #17 babe got #10. Spring rolls were yummy. Peanut sauce was a bit runny. That's ok. Combination fried rice had a great flavor with the meat. Although I couldn't get over the back taste of a burnt skillet that was used while making this. And I had to add a whole packet of soy sauce to the entire batch of rice just so I can add more flavor. Really brought out the goodness. Always better to need salt than to be salty. read more

I've never tried this place before. I've been there for the first time a few minutes ago and was kinda surprised that the place didn't look more like a Vietnamese restaurant, but I wasn't really worried about that. Service was normal (even though there weren't that many staff members inside), but I wasn't worried about that either. For the food, I've gotten the chicken Lo Mein with vegetables as a to go order. It was good, even though the noodles were stuck together when I dug them out from under the pile of veggies (which were also good). The prices for the food were not bad either. Paid about $12-$13 for my meal. Besides the look on the inside, I probably would recommend more people to try this place out of they haven't yet. read more

Went for dinner and had the chicken pho and Spring Rolls. Everything is always fresh here and made from scratch at the time ordered. It's one of the best pho spots on that side of town. They close early so just make sure they are open if trying to go for dinner. read more

I love this place and drive in from Cypress just to get my spring rolls here. I have been coming here since I attended San Jac North over 20 years ago. Their spring rolls are always fresh and their peanut sauce, is made from scratch! They don't use that fake canned stuff with preservatives. No fake food here. If you want processed, then do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. All their food is delicious and their staff very polite. I love coming here. I've been coming since I was 11, and I'm 22 now so to say this is my favorite Vietnamese food place is understatement. The pork sandwich, shrimp noodle soup, egg rolls, and shrimp fried rice are my favorites on the menu. There's other places that over season their food or don't put enough seasoning in it but this place does it just right. I love it! I started bring my little 3yrs and 1yr old boys here and they love the food too, so it is family friendly. The hot oil is spicy like it should be and they have everything you would ever need for any dish you order. I absolutely love Vietnamese and could eat Pho everyday so I try out many different restaurants and this is my go to place on this side of town including up beltway 90. Their broth is soo flavorful & their meats are quite good. This used to be my favorite Vietnamese Pho House, but the last several times I have gone there the peanut sauce for the spring rolls is watery and the noodles for my pho are cut as short as the bean sprouts. The flavor is still there but one of the things that I love the most about Pho is the noodles. I'm going to look around and try pho somewhere else because this just doesn't seem to be what I want anymore. Hope they reconsider how they serve their noodles. read more

The ladies seem to be uptight at first but if your friendly they would be kind and very attentive. This is a family owned business. The mom, grandma and great grandma are the chefs so I'm sure they have several secret recipes going on in that kitchen. It's not a fancy restaurant and I can tell service is not their main priority but their food is pretty darn good. I usually call in my order and pick up as the wait can be lengthy as they cook to order (or so I've been told by grandma). I haven't had everything on the menu but I plan to, given that everything I've had has been pretty tasty. The chicken & pork Bánh Mí are pretty good but my favorite are their chicken spring rolls. The peanut butter sauce they make is delicious! I've also had their special fried rice and it was just ok. The Vietnamese Noodle House did not seem very clean, but my usual local Pho place was closed, so I gave it a shot. You have to order at the counter then they bring your food. I had the beef pho and fried egg rolls. I liked the egg rolls, but they did not come with lettuce. I'm not sure that I would have had the lettuce anyway, though, because of the cleanliness issue. The pho tasted good. They were light on the vegetables, though. Also, they don't have fountain soda, you have to buy bottles. Just an OK place. read more

This Vietnamese Restaurant is one of a very few in this area. The food is OK, certainly not anything special. The reason for my low rating is because they purposefully over charge. I purchased the combination lomein & vegetables, two spring rolls and a large unsweetened Tea. They charged me $19.42. The actual cost should have been $17.72 including tax. I do not speak the language but I do know how to add. So sad, I did not even ask for my correct change. They can keep it. I won't come back here ever again! read more

The spring rolls and ice coffee were good; not so much the entree, a basic South Vietnamese pork chop with white rice and sliced vegetables. It should have been an easy slam dunk. The pork was not in a pork chop form, but rather in smaller pieces. It tasted and seemed like it was a leftover and re-fried in some new grease and served back another day. Horrible service !!!! Walked in and didn't get greeted. For 30 mins sat down and realized we have to walk up to the counter to order food. I finally got my order in and it took another 30 mins . Once I got my food it had onions when I requested without , let them know and the lady was Rude about . So I waited another 20 mins my lunch break was over so I told her to give to me to go . Excellent Pho on the East Side. Am partial to the round steak variety. The large is 6.50, and comes in a bowl the size of an industrial vat. The noodles are excellent, the meat tasty, but the broth is the breadwinner. It has a wonderful sweetness to it (ginger, cloves, Saigon Cinnamon perhaps). Its served with a large plate of the traditional garnishes. Restaurant also serves Chicken Pho...Pho with meatballs, Curried Chicken, Vermiceli, Spring Rolls ,Egg Rolls and Vietnamese BBQ sandwiches. I can vouch for the Curried Chicken and the Egg Rolls, I am afraid that I like the Vat O' Pho well enough I haven't been too experimental with the rest of the menu. read more

Hole in the hole in the wall kind of place-but the spring rolls are really good! I've yet to try the pho since I'm not really a fan but they have plenty of other options here, curry, vermicelli, egg noodle, rice, and even Vietnamese sandwiches. It reminds me of Vietnam because it's family owned, and I've witnessed 3 generations working at the same time.
