Dusty Williams, Assistant Manager at this location, is a champion who does what's right and knows…read morewhat she's doing. Her no-BS, helpful, keep-it-real willingness to take care of me when her corporate overlords had totally screwed the pup is a phenomenal reason to give them your business, even when the brand and corporation above them is a hot, wet dumpster fire. When Budget's cheap-labor foreign call centers and whoever designed their email and comms workflow massively screwed up my rental arrangement, she managed to swoop in and smooth everything over, giving me a discount in the process. She and her people work hard in a somewhat thankless situation on a very small lot. I booked a cargo van on May 11th for a June 12th pickup. The email confirmation came through, showing the correct vehicle, no problem. In the dark of night, at about 1:45am on Jun 10th, I got a new email confirmation that the van had been "upgraded" to a box truck. This was not going to work at all, as I chose a van for the small load we needed to retrieve from storage in Nashville and drive to Michigan, and it would navigate construction zones and cities much more safely, and likely get better mileage. While we were on the road to Nashville a few days out, I called to verify/correct this issue. I touched the LOCAL PHONE NUMBER in the email that was sent from a BUDGET TRUCK domain, and it rang through, instead, to a foreign call center with cheap labor who barely speaks English. I went around and around with the first rep, who insisted that my confirmation number was incorrect. I demanded someone in another call center or a supervisor who would possibly "get it." The second person (a good 25min into this ordeal), managed to understand that I had been routed incorrectly to BUDGET CAR customer service, apologizing profusely for the prior dope. He was able to transfer me to yet another language-challenged foreign cheap-labor call center which was, at least, the Budget TRUCK side of the house. This rep was able to tell me that she saw a van still on the reservation but something I could not make out about inventory concerns, and she promised me a call from a LOCAL inventory specialist within two hours. This call concluded in Louisville, on the road. Louisville is two hours from Nashville. By the time we rolled into Nashville, no call had come in, so we decided to stop by the 1st St location and just ask the crew there. They said they saw nothing wrong, but maybe something odd that CS had tried to do, which they corrected, and they personally assured me that the van would be there and was intended for me. Dusty herself handled it and informed me she'd be there that Sunday for the pickup. She and her staff helped me clear up the fact that we'd need to add insurance at another large sum of money dictated by Budget's corporate greed-mongers and shareholders, on top of the rental, but I didn't have issue with that as it was the reality at hand. Sunday comes, and I arrive about half an hour early just to be sure I didn't keep Dusty and her team too late, as they close at noon. The place was wild. Apparently, the Budget asshats allow heaps and heaps of mixed vehicle returns from both Avis and Budget to be dropped on a crew of 2-3 people on a short day, with little to no regard for the physical space and ZERO concern for safety, on a busy, 4-lane boulevard with very little customer parking. They were running ragged to keep up, but even among that chaos, Dusty took care of the transaction and also played parking-lot-Tetris like a champ. What really pissed me off was that Dusty mentioned Budget personnel called her and asked what she did to make me unhappy(!!!!). That was when I promised her I'd be following up on this to correct the record and admonish Budget and their minions for trying to throw her under the bus. I am beyond livid and offended that their answer to this whole thing was to attempt to pass the buck and punish the hard-working team on the ground. That was beyond the pale. But Dusty really came through to make it all great at the local level.

What a clown show. Within 12 hours of my reservation they cancelled my reservation because the…read moretruck "broke" and somehow just like everyone else here there's none available. I made my reservation weeks in advance and the best this joker in here could offer was a 1-800 number and the promise that it "happens all the time" well it seems like these reviews happen all the time too. Don't go here complete waste of time and money, maybe some other budgets are different but this location is full of half functioning dimwits who are still discovering how man invented the wheel hence still trying to understand how truck roll.
