So my nails came out really wonderful. Highly recommend Mike to do your nails. He was fast, and meticulous and did a great job. I love my nails and they came out great. However my pedicure was rough. The Organic pedicure is $47 and it was nice but the massage was literally 5 minutes (I timed it - started 4:36 and ended 4:41). It says extra massage when you order this so I can't imagine what the classic pedi might have been like. read more

I've been going to Oscar Nails for well over a year. Today wasn't any different from the service I normally receive. However, due to the holidays, Michael was not available on the 1st and because of this inconvenience, arrived early for our appointment. Per my norm, I had no idea what I wanted on my nails but had plenty of time consuming ideas for designs. He was extremely patient today and even repainted my nails over again after I carelessly smudged all 5 fingers!!! I really appreciate the level of customer service, expertise, and patience from the entire staff. I have had nothing but great service even when I have had a not so great experience. A few months back I was not so pleased after leaving the salon with the nail tech's (Michael was not available that day). When I called and expressed my disappointment, Rose offered to reimburse, give a credit, or redo them. Scheduled and appointment and still got stuck waiting 45 mins after our set time while other people walked in and seemed to be helped and no one told us how long we were to wait or what was happening....Once we were finally able to get our stuff they were not friendly as far as where the polish was where we were to be sitting and just kind of pointed talked quite and walked back to helping others. During my visit the Pedi was good the lady was very nice however she kept getting up in the middle of my pedi to do other stuff didn't even say anything just walked away. She talked me into a callus removal which for the amount of lotion, scrub and oils she applied to my legs and feet I walked out feeling like I had sandpaper attached to the bottom of my feet. They were smooth and fine prior to coming in. Definitely not a friendly welcoming place to come to and will be doing a better review search BEFORE coming to any nail salon again. Plus what's the point of scheduling an appointment if you don't even follow them. Also saw a lot of people with complementary drinks and not once were we offered anything of the sort. read more

They've been in the business for a long time, and their new place here in Tempe is beautiful. My pedicure and manicures, both gel and regular are top notch. The staff is professional, and the salon is so clean, which is very important to me. Let me preface this review with the fact that I am a bona fide nail snob. I expect my nails to be "perfect"! Which can be hard to find and somewhat unreasonable as perfection can mean different things to different people. I am always super hesitant to try a new place for my mani's because you just don't know what you're going to get. Loved! Happened upon this place as my usual spot is apparently now closed on Sundays and I am so happy I did! My pedicure was ah-mazing! Tan was super nice and meticulous on my toes. The chairs gave the best massage! I also got the dip acrylic/SNS. Technique can vary from shop to shop and of course I am inquisitive as to why they are or aren't doing something. Second time I've tried this place because my usual salon is closed Tuesday's due to new Covid hours. Second time I've had the younger guy do my pedicure. And unfortunately the second time I've been very upset. The first time I came for a pedicure I was 8 months pregnant, he was very rough with my feet and left me in the chair and didn't even say he was done. Just went and sat in a chair and played on his phone and iPad. He left me to try to attempt to put on my own sandals. Today I am 9 and 1/2 months pregnant. Same experience. Polish is poorly placed. On my skin and missing in spots on the actual nail. He didn't clean it up. Nails are cut at random angles and lengths so they slant left or right. Left me in the chair again to play on his iPad WITH OUT A MASK in another pedicure chair. Multiple clients besides me where in the salon at this time. And he didn't help me put my sandals on. But was so quick to follow me up to the register to get paid when he saw me waddling up after he watched me struggle to put my shoes on. I will never come back. Two horrible identical experiences too many. And I suggest others avoid this place as well. read more

I gave them a call on Saturday to 1)check if the had gel-x nails 2)to see if they were accepting walk-ins. The lady assured me they had gel-x and that it was something new that they were trying to get trending again, but that they only had natural colors. Excited to find someone who finally has gel-x, I go in about 20 minutes later only to find out it they had gelish... seems pretty similar to regular gel polish. Well I'm already there might as well just get service. I picked my color and waited my turn. Everyone seemed friendly and welcoming. The lady who did my hands was very nice, she noticed I was growing my nails out so she just filed and evened them out for me. She was very gentle and paid attention to detail, even on how the shimmer on my nails looked when she polished it. Wish I would've gotten her name, she was phenomenal. As for my pedicure, a younger gentleman worked on my feet he was nice but his work... not as great. Some of my toenails are cut at an angle, and just uneven. Even had a bit of polish on my skin, i wasn't too concerned since it was a neutral color and knew it'd wash off in the shower. At some point when he was working on my feet a lady that was serviced by him requested to get her toes repolished because of the paint job was messy, which undoubtedly it was because I could see it from where I was sitting. Four or five people took a look at it before they even assisted her. Overall decent service might give it another try at a later time since it's near by. read more

Went in for a full set mani with gel and regular pedicure. Came in for the appointment and waited 45 minutes to be seen. Once myself and my friends were seen she rushed to do my manicure, didn't do base coat, half the time the gel light wasn't on. My mani is very splotchy and uneven. They were then upset that they had to stay open an hour because we waited. Super disappointed, definitely not worth $80 and a tip. read more

You know.. I understand the COVID-19 is happening right now and some nail shops are closed already, including mine, shout out to Award Nails & Spa, they truly are the best, but.... I figured since this place was open and wanting to serve the community in these times, it was worth trying. I am very disappointed in my decision. We were given an hour wait, which was doable if you want your nails done. Ended up waiting 2 hours, sat in the pedicure chair for an additional 20 minutes, just to be rushed and having to coach my tech on doing my toes. Didn't get nothing fancy, just regular polish. It came out all bumpy and gross. At this point I'm like do I really wanna get my nails done? My Mom comes over and shows me hers, which weren't Award Nails & Spa but they would do. So I'm like ok, I'll wait (even longer) and get a fill. First off the lady was rushing so much I thought she was hyperactive... she drilled over my cuticles more than once, and filed each nail different shapes. I told her I wanted a design but she ignored me. She put the acrylic on and it looked fine till she polished them. Not only are they bumpy asf, the polish wasn't consistent on each finger. She finished and I said I want a design. She said no design today, were to busy. wtf! Seriously.. I patiently wait over 2+ hours for you to rush me and tell me I can't have, what I just seen another customer get, who was getting service the same time as I? Unbelievable.. Look people, like I said I'm clearly aware of the crisis at hand, but if you can't still provide the best service, then why be open in the first place? This is our hard earned money that we are choosing to give to you. For all you know I could be one of those laid off and I am choosing to give you some of my money. If your in the serving business, you serve to the best of your ability regardless of what's happening. Period. If you can't do that then do do it at all. Halfass will never be acceptable. I will NEVER go back to this place. They are charging more than they normally do right now and your not even getting your monies worth. And lastly.. I typically really like this place. I have had many good experiences here. However, I've noticed the last few times I've gone it has been busy and they tend to rush and make mistakes when they're busy. Multiple times during my experience the nail tech hurt me, and my nails ended up really messed up lumpy etc. If you go here, try to go when it isn't busy! :( I also noticed another commenter say that they were told they could do the same color on their nails and toes (gel and non gel) and they ended up doing them completely different colors. About a month ago or so a friend and I booked an appointment for when the salon opened on a weekend morning. Whoever was in charge of opening the salon was late, and so we, along with other customers and even some employees waited outside the salon doors in the hot sun for about 30 minutes. We were about to give up, and even drove around to other nail salons - but they were all booked so we came back and finally about an hour after they appointment time (and time they were supposed to open) they opened the doors. The pedicures themselves were fine, the staff was polite, and a woman (whom I presume to be the supervisor on duty) apologized to us for the wait. After such a lengthy wait and inconvenient mistake for all customers involved you would expect some sort of compensation or discount or something... Actually it was the opposite. They ended up charging me $10 more than the standard pedi price as a fee for removing my old gel polish. I was pretty shocked - you're going to up-charge me for something silly after making a pregnant lady wait for an hour out in the sun? Doesn't seem like good customer service. TL;DR - opened salon late - making customers wait in AZ summer heat outdoors. Over an hour wait time for booked appointments. No discounts offered - actually up-charged for removal of old polish despite inconveniences. read more
