My wife and daughters are allergic to wheat, so when we saw the street sign that said "Libre de Gluten" pizza, we knew we were in a safe place for those with serious allergies. We all ordered Mexi fare but knowing the staff understood our GF needs was nice, as sometimes you find breaded items with fish tacos for example. My husband ordered the fish burger and it was underwhelming to say the least. Fries were pretty terrible too. The waiter is what gives this such a low rating...our total was $150 pesos. We gave $200 and asked for the change but he decided to help himself to a $50 peso tip automatically. Nothing irritates me more than a server not allowing us to decide for ourselves based on the service, friendliness and food quality rather than "helping yourself." read more

We ordered a New York style vegetarian pizza with no cheese for the four of us as the first "appetizer" stop on our double date food marathon. Max is great and kind and the pizza was better than what we had in the states! Seriously! Thin and crispy crust with lots of toppings like mushroom, bell pepper, onions, olives, and spinach, so delicious! And we were complemented with their garlic bread knott! Ugh!! So good! Good margaritas. Had veg burrito and Oscar pasta without meat. Pasta was good and burrito was ok. There is no good salsa for chips and Mexican food.Just bland pico de gallo and a pasty arbol chili "salsa" that is pretty awful. But they brought us some chopped habanero that helped. Love this place always stop. The first few times we stopped we ate on the street in the neat bar chairs the food and drinks always great and the service top notch. I'm really torn about this review. We loved the place and my husband, a self-admitted pizza lover, says the pizza was the best he's ever had! Ever! The service was great, the woodwork is amazing and the prices reasonable. But I ordered the coconut shrimp and it was terrible. The shrimp was dirty and over cooked, the coconut breading was chunky, not on a good way, and the sides of mixed veggies and rice were tasteless and bland. So, bottom line? Stick to the pizza and you'll be happy. read more

Terrible service experienced today. I had high hopes for this place due to all of the ratings and reviews of the pizza. My girlfriend and I arrived at 11 am. Were seated and my girlfriend ordered a margarita. I ordered a bottle of water. The waiter who was rude from the beginning brought two margaritas (I don't drink) and placed one in front of me. We had no problem with this as we assumed that after she finished her first she could just have this one as we didn't want to send it back and be rude. When I put the drink in front of my girlfriend the waiter and what appeared to be a manager type person had a fuss and were talking about her having two drinks the entire time behind the bar to other staff. Staring constantly and not hiding it. When the waiter came back I kindly told him we only ordered one margarita but to not make a fuss, she would drink some of that if she finished her. He was still rude about it (I was driving not her). We tried ordering pizza and were told that the pizza wouldn't be served until 2 pm. We found something else on the menu (nachos and coconut shrimp) but should have just left. The nachos were awful and we asked for nachos with just cheese and chicken: the nachos came with onions peppers and beans. Again, to not complain we just sucked it up because at this point the whole restaurant staff was making a huge fuss of my girlfriend drinking two margaritas. The shrimp was not bad, we will give them that! It took 25 minutes just to get our check after asking. The staff was very very rude. Had high hopes but would never recommend it for the staff alone. read more

A terrible dining experience! One of us ordered surf and turf; 45 minutes later when the dishes were served the waiter announced that they were out of lobster and had substituted shrimp (for the same price). We sent it back and asked for steak alone - which took another 45 minutes to come. The main courses (pasta, seafood skewers, burritos, fish tacos) were mediocre to awful. Even the steak, when it came, was bad. And then it took us forever to get our check because someone at another table had had a similar experience and was furious and arguing with our waiter. read more

We had the pizza delivered to our timeshare last night and ate at the restaurant tonight. Everything was good. My husband had the surf & turf (steak and lobster). Steak cooked perfectly & lobster tasted excellent. I had the chicken with a baked potato instead of fries. Our daughter had the chicken fajitas. Everything tasted great. We loved Oscar's Grill! The margaritas are perfect and authentic -- fresh lime and tequila and really tasty! The seafood brochette was also amazing -- lobster, scallops, shrimp and fish. My daughter enjoyed the shrimp, but wished she'd ordered the brochette too. Location is right off the road -- stopped in our golf cart. The carved wooden stools/chairs are really cool too. This place has never disappointed! This last time we went in Feb 2018 was no exception. We went for Lunch. I had the shrimp tacos - devine! My Husband had some Coconut Shrimp and he said they were delicious. We also tried the Margarita Pizza, as we had never tried it before. The Garlic knots were delicious! The pizza was very good, (in my mind, I know I've had better, but it was still good!) but I plan to stick to my shrimp tacos! This place is great! I had the ceviche and it was nothing like I have ever had. The fish was super fresh and full of flavor. The ambiance was fantastic. The front of the place is average (with the exception of the driftwood chairs which my boyfriend became obsessed with) but once you walked through the semi outdoors restaurant it took you to the bay with beautiful views and a comfortable dining section. We saw this place on our golf cart trip around the Island and thought we would stop for lunch. Not sure how the food was as we never got served. Not busy, only three tables. After ten min. finally was given a menu. 10 more min. go by and not one person comes over to take our order so we left to find another place. We eat the pizza here and my kids think it's the best on the island. The staff is good and there is an expat that speaks both Spanish and English so asking questions is a breeze. I've tried the fish tacos and some other fare but the pizza is the best choice. Make sure to try the open face meatball sandwich ( torta alla albóndigas). It is the best meal on the island. Great italian food in Mexico is very hard to come by so don't miss Oscar's. Nice quiet locale makes this a great spot to sit and talk about the day. Really cool marina out back. It is just an all around good spot. A trip to Isla Mujeres without a stop at Oscars is just a wasted ferry ride! read more

Definitely will be going back. This is a great place to visit on the island. Its on the way to the Punta Sur so its a great stop on the way there. The atmosphere was lovely and service was very good. They are open fairly early to eat and have tons of tables for room. Got the chicken and beef fajita tacos and were very pleasantly surprised. They advertise a lot for their pizza/pasta but wanted to keep the taste of Mexico in our meals. The tacos here are simple but have very good flavor, just peppers, onions, meat, and seasoning. Others had cocktails and said they were very good, beer is definitely a good price. Ask for a to-go cup on the way out to take your beer so you can return the glass bottle. The bill was very reasonable so if you're looking for a decently priced place this is definitely for you. Would recommend this place to anyone on the island to stop for a delicious meal. read more

This place is like an indy film from the mind of a f@$#!ng insect...sorry. ..lemme catch my breath. .from the moment we walked up to the bar something was amiss..while the staff in the back was polite and attentive, to boot really good food with some thought and creativity...the front of the house was pathetic. 20 min before a hello. .even after i"broke the ice" with a hello myself, when we approached this group of better than you bumbas!!!! Not a glimpse of personality among the entire cult, sooooooooooo weird...It felt like a bad trip. Check my history and you will see I don't have much to say. The pizza is excellent, I'm not going to lie....it's good! We were driving to the turtle farm in the golf cart and saw the guy with dreads on the street and nicely told us to come by. We decided with 4 adults and 5 kids that pizza was a good idea. We parked and sat down right away. The reason why I gave it 3 stars is the customer service. Our waiter in particular who needs to be trained a little more. He looked annoyed when I told him I only wanted 1 pizza and he kept trying to push me to order 2. My brother in law ordered 2 for his family and wound up putting a whole 2nd pizza in a box to go (Waste of money). At the end I tipped him what he deserved and my sister in law paid for her bill and the waiter goes up to her to make it clear that tip isn't included in the bill. She replied nicely that she knew that and that's why she had a $5 bill in her hand. I worked in the restaurant industry for a long time and it was piss poor service in that kids part.
