After recommendation from my sister, I dropped off my disposable camera to be processed + scanned on a Friday afternoon and received my digital photos Tuesday afternoon (they actually said it'd be ready on Wednesday, so I love the earlier delivery!). The drop off was extremely easy and quick. Standard processing and scanning is about $20 and they email you a Dropbox link with a zip file to download all your photos. I also really appreciate the quick turnaround time of Oscar's Photo Lab because we were really looking forward to seeing our vacation photos. I have another disposable camera that I definitely plan to bring over to Oscar's again!

I found my family's old olympus stylus epic and decided to give film a try. I used 35mm fujifilm. Had no idea how the photos would turn out. I emailed them first about some questions I had. They were honest and recommended a standard resolution scan to see if everything is working fine. They said they could always scan the whole roll or just selected frames as higher resolution. I felt like I could trust Oscar's Photo Lab to do the job right for a reasonable price ($20 total to process + scan). I brought in my roll on a Thursday to be developed. They told me I could expect my digital scans to be sent by the following Wednesday given the weekend, but the files were in my email even earlier by Monday. Love the fast turnaround. I was so excited. The photos turned out great - way better quality than I expected! I got busy so I ended up picking up my negatives from them 2 weeks later. No problems at all and they were stored nicely. Will be coming back here and supporting their business. The staff is very friendly. If you're new to this like me, coming here was not intimidating at all. You can also send in a mail order if you're not local!

I don't have enough positive things to say about Oscar's! They do an amazing job developing and always surprise me with how quickly I get my scanned photos back. Moreover, the staff is super friendly and prices are reasonable, so happy I found Oscar's Lab!

Ask the Community - Oscar's Photo Lab

For prints from negatives, do you scan it first and print it or do old-fashioned optical style printing?

Hello Mehdi, We scan and print. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks. Vartan

Hi there do you guys develop disposable camera film?

Yes we do. We are open 10-5 M-F and 10-1 on Saturdays. Stop in any time.

Hi Vartan, Do you scan for films shot on half frame cameras?

Hi Donny, yes we do. Just let us know when you drop them off that they are half frames and ask that each frame is scanned separately. Thanks. Vartan

How much is it to process and scan 35mm color film? Also how long does it take to have it ready?

Hi Diego, for processing color negative film with standard res scans you are looking at $17.50 per roll and the normal turnaround time is 2-3 working days. Thanks. Vartan

How much is it for develop and scan? Is it more for pushed film?

Hi Alina, can you tell me what type of film it is color, B/W or slide film as well as if it is 35mm or 120. Also what size of a scan do you need, what would you like to be able to do with the digital files. Obviously we offer many options and…

Can you take a digital picture and put them on a 35mm slide with white boarders?

Hi Dennis, If I understand you have a digital file and you need it printed out as a 35mm slide with a white border in the image area is that correct? If so yes we can. The cost is $12.00 per slide and the standard turnaround time is 4-5 working…

I have a handful of 4" X 5" black and white negatives from the late 1940s - early 1950s. Unlike negatives I've seen before, these do not have any sprocket holes on the sides. Can you safely print from them?

Hello, Yes we can just let us know what size print you want. If you got to oscarsphotolab.com the pricing for the sizes is under custom prints. Thanks.…

Do you guys do same day development and scan?

Hi Daniel, I'm sorry we do not.…

Do you scan 35mm slides to digital? The are rather old and my Family's memories.

Good morning Jan, yes we do. The cost varies depending on what you would like to be able to do with the scans. Give us a call and we can go over the specifics. Thanks for contacting us.…

I went today after the owner reached out and offered a discount if I returned. The young woman who works there today was exceptionally rude. They have a glass partition, and she wears a mask, which makes it difficult to hear her. She started by asking what I wanted, but I think she misheard me. I said "scans and development," but she repeated back the wrong order. I misheard her because of the glass and mask. I said yes to whatever she said, but when she repeated the order again and I was ready to pay, I noticed that they had only charged me for development . I repeated what my order was, and she raised her voice and said, "You said you only wanted development now you're changing it." Why does it matter? Don't you want more money? A Pivotal Reframing of Camera Zone…read more Before you drop your review based on how fast the checkout felt or how "old school" the vibe is, pause and widen your aperture. Most of us are used to the instant-gratification feed--tap, swipe, next thing, dopamine hit. This place doesn't run on that algorithm. It runs on something slower, heavier, and way more intentional. This shop is a **contact print** pulled from a single negative that's been developing for over forty years. A Filipino family crossed the ocean by boat with almost nothing, living on rice and chicken while they built this from the ground up in Chinatown. That early scarcity wasn't cute poverty cosplay--it was the actual base exposure. Every choice you see now (the mix of film and digital, the real knowledge behind the counter, the gallery wall that isn't just background for selfies) carries the grain of that struggle. You're not walking into a retail space optimized for 2026 attention spans. You're standing inside a long-exposure photograph that's still being made. The generational gap you might feel isn't an accident or a flaw. A lot of us (Gen Z and Alpha especially) expect the world to feel like a perfectly lit, color-graded TikTok--seamless, fast, no friction. This spot moves at the pace of someone who still shoots film and has to wait for the scan. When the service feels deliberate instead of lightning-fast, that's not bad UX. That's someone actually "dodging and burning" your experience in real time--giving you the light where it matters instead of blasting the whole frame with the same generic brightness. The knowledge here isn't pulled from a database. It's passed down, like someone teaching you how to read the negative instead of just handing you the final JPEG. So if you're writing a review, try opening the depth of field a little wider. See the full tonal range instead of just the highlights and shadows that annoyed you in the moment. This isn't a store that's failing to keep up with ,"the NOW". It's a print that was composed with patience across four decades and is still holding its density. Review it like you're looking at the actual image, not just the thumbnail preview. -A gen y/z 'hobbyist'photographer
