We were about to give up on Limon, having tried several places that were either closed or packed. But then, we decided to give Oscar's a try. It was a good choice. It was quiet and had a nice atmosphere. The bathrooms were especially roomy and clean, and the decor of old movies all through the place was nice. We got sandwiches and burgers. I had the reuben, and it had a very good sauerkraut on it. My wife had a hot roast sandwich that had a spectacular brown gravy on it. My older daughter had a burger with a fried egg on it, and she liked it a lot. My younger daughter got a burger on the kids menu, and it was just as big as the adult burger for half the price. Fries came with the sandwiches and burgers (except for the hot roast sandwich that came with mashed potatoes). The fries were really good, with that really crispy outside from a good batter and a nice still soft middle to them. Of what we saw of Limon, which was not very impressive overall for dining options, this one was a good choice. read more

Great find on our motorcycle ride out to Limon. I had the 8oz sirloin with loaded mash, steak was tender and delicious. My wife had the thin crust cheese pizza which was excellent. Son in law had the chicken fried steak and white gravy! Gravy was delicious. Will be back next time we are in town. read more

The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. Their version of "The Reuben" was tasty. Corned beef was lean, sauce and sauerkraut in perfect proportion. Our server was beyond attentive and I wished we had her name. The movie/Oscar motif was interesting. So glad we chose Oscars for our one night stay in Limon. read more

The food was so delicious tonight! The French dip is by far one of the best I've ever had! Ever!! The bread was amazing and I love the cheese they melted on the meat. Soooooo good!! Service was better tonight as well. Every time we've eaten here, the owner and his wife have been there. Although he is friendly and thanks everyone for coming, he seems pretty removed as far as helping an understaffed restaurant. So although they could have used a little help tonight, our waitress still held her cool and did a great job. If you are in Limon you absolutely need to visit Oscar's. The food is great (I'm partial to the Big Easy which is an excellent take on a Cajun Pasta). The burgers are fantastic as well if you are a whiskey affecinado then you better check this out. The staff is great and the owner and his wife rock it in this gem in a small town. read more

My father and I stopped here during a long road trip, it's nice to see little towns like Limon have sit down restaurants open late. We're driving across the country and stopping at all sorts of "truck stop" restaurants. This is, by far, the best yet. Fast service, clean, great food, and lots of movie memorabilia to look at while you wait. Also - Oscar's might have the cleanest and fanciest ladies' room ever! We eat there Saturday and order cheese burgers chicken sandwich and taco salad. The cheese burgers were like hockey pucks. They were so well done it could of been beef jerky burgers. The people behind the bar seemed like they were as drunk as the patrons. Save your money go to McDonalds across the street you will get a much better burger over there. read more

Was not happy when stopped in town on New Years Day and they were closed. AAARRRGGG!!! So was Jenny's Mexican right next to them. We had the Best meal here @ Oscar's Bar & Grill! The menu had a large variety of options, including lots of homemade "comfort food"! The minute we walked in the door we were greeted with an enthusiastic Welcome from the owner! Our waitress Sherri was the best waitress I can remember having! The casual atmosphere made it easy to relax after a day on the road , the full bar didn't hurt either ! Wow! Traveling for the total eclipse was challenging for local small businesses in small town, which typically do not get the numbers of people flocking for places to eat!!! Avoid the fish and chips. You can get better at any Long John Silvers. My wife got the chimichanga. It was full of chicken. The pinto beans were edible but unremarkable but the rice was horrible. Dry and hard. Inedible. I got a take out turkey club once before and enjoyed it so I can recommend the sandwiches. Otherwise you're taking a risk. But in reality, it was all diner level at best. The appetizer was gross, waitress didn't even notice that we didn't touch it and didn't comment. The food took forever to come out and when it did the noodles were mush and the pasta sauce was flavorless. My husband said his cod was "eh".
