The street taco plate was delicious and you can't go wrong with the carnitas. The Burrito smothered in green chile was also fantastic and the pickled onions and queso Fresca elevated some different notes. Right now, the Venalonzo margarita is at the top of my list, only to be topped by the house margarita at El Camino in Missoula, Montana. Weird I know, but if you know, you know.

For two people, ordered a set of 3 tacos (2x barbacoa and carnitas) and then another 3 tacos (asada, carnitas, and pastor), birria egg rolls, and a bean, cheese, and rice burrito. Not a big deal but they put all the tacos in one box and I was able to differentiate which 3 tacos that I ordered. This place is super stingy with salsa. They gave me 2 tiny containers for salsa and then when I asked for a couple more, the lady said she could only give me two more. :( Excited to try the food and started off great with a simple bean, cheese, and rice burrito but outside of that everything else was very meh. Not sure how but all the meats were so dry, I ordered braised/slow cooked meats (barbacoa and carnitas). Asada and pastor were okay as well. Everything lacked seasoning and the salsa didn't add much to the tacos either. Birria tacos were also dry and consommé needed salt to be added. Value was not bad at $37.64. Tacos were about $3-3.20 per

Although some tables were occupied, the restaurant was far from busy. After the receptionist sat us in/at one of the spacious booths, our waitstaff immediately came to us to greet us. Our super attentive waitstaff, Gladys helped us with our needs throughout our quick 1-hour dinner. Thanks, Gladys; your warm smile was sure evidence that we were valued as guests. What we got tonight were: -Spicy Mango Ceviche ($17) -Bean and Cheese Burrito ($9) -Crispy Sweet Potato Tacos ($16) -Brown Sugar Caramel Flan ($9) for to-go If I go ahead and rank them from the best to the least good (LOL) here it is: 1. Crispy Sweet Potato Tacos - Simply exquisite. Vegetarian (possibly vegan) dish which you don't have to compromise your satisfaction or craving. Not only what's inside the tortilla but the tortilla itself was also amazing. It's a corn kind. We have never tasted anything like this before. 2. Spicy Mango Ceviche - Good portion for the price. The spiciness is noticeable but anybody can handle this level of heat. A visible amount of shrimp was evident in it. The mango pieces were diced a bit smaller than what I would want to see and taste but all in all, this is a solid dish as well. 3. Brown Sugar Caramel Flan - I took a bite of it later when we were home. Candidly stating, it wasn't as great as I hoped would be as it somewhat lacked that typical flan flavors. It also wasn't dense enough. It was passable with adequacy and acceptableness is the best way to describe it. 4. Bean and Cheese Burrito - Was my least favorite dish for the night and yet, this too, wasn't a bad dish. If you are vegetarian, then this definitely is one of the safest bets you can choose from the menu. If I am to order this again, however,I will ask for a little modification: add cilantro rice to it. I am pretty sure this should easily be done at a place like Blanco; I have no doubt. The restaurant is spacious in both the main dining area and the bar. The bar was empty except for one solo guest that sat in the center of it. For some reason, this image created an incredible ambience where I was compelled to take a photo of it (I uploaded it so please make sure to view it.)

The food is prepared in view of the dining room, there is a huge bar at one end with plenty of seating. It was a delicious dish of mixed grill fajitas. Service was great and attentive at the right time, suggesting dishes for our first time and knowledgeable about size was very helpful. We enjoyed our meal here for a middle of the week date night.

We were seated and this was the start of the experience that led to the 3. The server was incredibly short and rude. My friend, who had not been in before asked about margaritas, the server said, "We have beer or house margaritas, no flavors, we are not a full service bar. We mix it in a jar and that's it. Lemon lime." My friend ordered the margarita but was trying to give the server her card to make sure I didn't try to pay for my lunch, the server said, "I don't even have a check for you yet." She didn't just wasn't friendly at all-didn't ask if we wanted appetizers or dessert. Our food came out and the cheese enchilada was delicious, just as I remembered, the cheese was gooey and the chili had just the right amount of spice. The rice was good but the beans didn't taste homemade or fresh which was somewhat disappointing. We left after paying, underwhelmed with what we experienced.

That should have given me a clue as to the heat temperature! I couldn't finish my meal as it was too spicy for me. The sweetness of the honey helped to soothe the sting. This location is in a strip mall and they have done a very nice job of decorating it. It looks clean and well maintained. You will need to order at the counter and then they will bring your meal out to your table. It seems to make sense that you would offer meals for all people, even ones like me that cannot manage the spice. I have to give them a lower rating only due to the fact that I know I won't be able to go back since they don't have a non-spicy option for their meals.

It's also very unassuming. It looks like a very small restaurant on the outside but once you are inside, you'll be shocked to see its good size dining area. This place is all about happiness. I mean seriously!! They care about their customers that get satisfied with their service and meals. And it does draw a very diverse crowd from the Hispanics to Caucasians to Asians, I mean you name it. They also get a lot of to-go orders. Some people came in, grabbed their food and went on their way for the night. My friend got the Torta Los Carboncito. This is a massive sandwich with plenty of meat inside. Since the menu has colored picofor almost each item, what caught my attention was the fish dish. There are two of them: one is trout and the other is something else (I forgot) but I got me the non-trout one. The lady asked me if I wanted the flour or corn tortillas so I went with the corn one. As soon as I got home, my late night snacking started. I only took several bites out of that whatever the huge fish. And oh my goodness, it was so delicious! Well-seasoned with very light salt. Although I mainly got it for tomorrow morning/lunch I had a hard time quit eating because of its deliciousness. Extremely welcoming staff (I even met the owner, Alex as he was dining with his family), quality food and value pricing, this place checks out for the hidden gem restaurant that's not necessarily super fancy but it's worth every penny and time. Yelping is so much fun. That is why I cannot quit my foodie-ness! What a nice discovery!
