She makes me feel like a queen. She does my entire family too. My granddaughters have her color their hair and she does a remarkable job of it too. If I could give negative stars I would !! My experience at the salon was awful. I bought the Groupon and went into get my full highlights, The stylist could barely speak English and didn't really listen to what I wanted. She started coloring my hair and was putting bleach over already bleached pieces of hair I told her NOT to do this because it would cause too much damage, my hair would fall out, she responded with she knew what she was doing and everything would be fine. Then she took me to shampoo my hair where she left me in the shampoo bowl for close to an hour ( my neck was killing me ). She started to brush my hair and sure enough all of it started falling out!! huge clumps falling onto the floor- I immediately got upset - this is a girls worse nightmare !! I started crying and told her I needed to leave. She told me sorry I did the best I could, I could NOT even begin to speak to her at this point I was so furious and upset. My hair was not only falling out but I spent 4 hours there and it Didn't even look different !! I went to the front and the lady asked for my groupon and I gave it to her ( now I realize I shouldn't have ). She saw my crying and didn't even care. As I was walking out with wet hair she said thanks for your business ! Seriously!? It is now Days later my hair is still falling out. These people are idiots ! Don't go here unless you want your hair to fall out!! I cried the entire day. I regret paying them at all. Now my hair is damaged all thanks to them. read more

I got a fabulous haircut on my first visit. Hannah was a joy to be around. She gave a great hair and color consultation, she took the time to listen to my concerns and put me at ease. I've always had extremely thin and light eyebrows and and always wanted that thicker and fuller brows people had. So I built up enough courage to get microblading done for the first time 2 years ago but it was such a painful experience! When I met Ami and told her of my dramatic experience, she assured me that she will do everything possible to make me feel comfortable and leave with fuller and natural brows. I must say that The entire procedure was not only painless, but I was also very impressed on how detailed and such a perfectionist Ami is. I was given home care instructions as well as text care calls. It's been 6 days after I had my eyebrows done and I am loving it! I will see Ami again in 6 weeks for the touch up session. I'm not a salon person. But I go to this salon, because my stylist there, Lisa Gary, knows exactly how to treat people who are not salon people. On my first visit, she asked me how much effort I was willing to put into my hair every morning, and I told her "essentially none," and that I was willing to let her pick whatever style she thought was best as long as it would involve no work on my part and be about the length I wanted. She was totally comfortable with that. Since that day, she's given me haircuts that are simple, grow out great, and can last me the eight months I'll probably leave between each appointment. So I have never actually made it to this salon, I am submitting my rating based on my experience booking and confirming an appointment. I booked an updo with a stylist for this Saturday using their online booking system. I received a call back stating that not only does the stylist I booked NOT do updo's, they also don't have an appointment available. I'm in town for very unfortunate circumstances of which I will not get into but roots wait for no woman and nothing is quite a pick me up like walking out of a salon feeling like a new woman. My hairdressers name was Tracy Vuong. I wish I could pack her with me when I go back to new orleans. I lucked out in my blind choosing. I have had some nightmarish encounters with many hairdressers in the last two years being a blonde. I am so nervous and gun shy. God bless her for her professionalism and patients. Got a great haircut with PAUL at this salon. He takes his time and does a superb cut. I recommend a ivy league/crew cut type cut (short sides/back) and short and side part or up in front.. He also did a great color for me to hide the white hair. I've followed him from his previous shop totally worth it. I always look professional but can rough up the hair and have a fun side too. I've seen his cuts for women also they are awesome. I'm very picky about my haircut. He only works a few days a week but its worth the wait. I will ONLY go to Paul. He also does a great relaxing shampoo. He will do just about any salon service and is great with highlighting men and women too. Great location too and reasonable prices. For men I need a haircut every 3 weeks and color too. Need to keep that youfhful look for business these days. read more

I had my color and cut done by Hannah and she did a great job on the color. I could tell she has a lot of experience and knew what she was doing. I am grateful for that because I have had some bad experiences in the past. I was not pleased with her personality. I understand that my hair (was) long and is thick, curly and can be difficult. That's why I went to get it done (thinned and cut). As soon as I sat in the chair she made me brush my own hair out. Never in my life have I had a hairdresser ask me to do this. Then she proceeded to sigh really loudly and kept say "Jesus Christ" multiple times throughout the entire session. Then she kept yelling at me about how I don't take care of my hair and how it is so damaged and is going to fall out. I have been to many upscale salons and have never been told this. I'm actually always told that my hair is really healthy. I think that she could have given me advice without being so rude. I left the salon with a great hair color, but didn't feel great at all. I felt put down and was really disappointed by how she treated me. I really don't know if I will come back to this salon for that reason, although it seemed like a really great place. read more

I just had my hair totally restyled at Steven Maxx Salon. (3-8-2013). I had a groupon and called to make my appointment. I spoke with the owner, Lonnie, who was extremely personable. He took the time to ask about me, my hair type, what I wanted and expected. He really went out of his way to match me up with a stylist. When was the last time that ever happened! At best you usually get a reception that takes your name and gives you an appointment a month away. When I arrived for my appointment, I was made to feely very comfortable and at ease. My stylist was called up immediately and introduced to me. Esther was the best choice I could have hoped for. She was VERY knowledgeable, has a lot of experience and took the time to sit with me and really get to know what I wanted and my hair type. I never once felt rushed or uncomfortable. Her ideas were right in line with my own and I walked out with one of the best haircuts I've ever had. I could not have been happier with my new look. The staff were very friendly, they all talked and interacted with each other giving me the impression everyone was pretty happy with the place and their jobs. I especially like that the stylist washes your hair as well as styles it. I've been to places where one person cuts, the other styles, the other colors and there is a washer. That was the worst experience I ever had. Steven Maxx is a full service Salon that is the perfect mix of stylish and comfortable. I had my hair cut back in May by this salon and I am still trying to grow out the AWFUL hair cut I was given; I even took a picture of the style I wore to show the stylist. I gave Steven Maxx one more try to do my hair, and once again they have messed it up!
