Bug, hairs, undercooked food, and slow service. Made a reservation for Valentine's Day for their 4 course meal. They had a fun, kooky artist playing music and he was great. It seemed like all the guests knew each other and it was weird and we felt a bit out of place. I ordered bruschetta, a berry salad, a crab and shrimp risotto, and a chocolate lava cake. My date ordered a potato crisp appetizer, Caesar salad, filet mignon, and crème brûlée. My first issue: The salad came first, then the appetizer, then the desert, then 30 minutes later the entree. We wanted to eat desert last but it would have been cold if we waited to receive and finish our entrees. Guessing they brought the desert to keep us occupied while our entrees were cooking. Second issue: about half way through my drink I found a bug in it. I also found a hair in my salad but wasn't sure if that came from my shirt. But then I pulled a similar hair out of the cake (which absolutely couldn't have been mine). They replaced the drink but I didn't mention the hairs because it was so hard to get anyone's attention at that point and I didn't want to make a scene with my date after already having to replace my drink. Third: the rice in the risotto was very undercooked and chewy. The stuff they sprinkled on top (maybe strands of truffle? Not sure) had such an overwhelming smell that it made the food hard to eat. The olive spread on the bruschetta was SOOO salty I had to scrape it off and only use about 1/3 of it, I over salt my food so this was surprising. We had an early reservation but the people who came in after us were waiting upwards of 20-30 minutes just to get their first course. Pros: the salads were delicious! The deserts were tasty (minus being brought early and finding a hair). The filet mignon was cooked PERFECTLY. I was regretting I didn't get one myself. For $80 per person I would have expected much better service, bug and hair free, and properly cooked food. Not worth it for me. We won't be back again. read more

The coast needs more breakfast and brunch places so writing this breaks my heart, but I hope it helps them get better. Got the avocado toast. Came with pickled onions and fried capers that were actually the best part of the dish, but neither are listed on the menu as included in it. I asked for over medium eggs and they came out over easy with runny whites. I asked for the cream cheese on the side and it didn't arrive at all. I asked for my bread extra crispy but it didn't happen and the (store bought sourdough loaf) bread was barely even toasted or crisp as it was. The sausage was like cheap Dennys breakfast tubes; greasy and squidgy. The coffee was brewed weak. I respect the overall thing they're going for but it was just not executed at the quality their price points suggest. read more

Nice place, great wait staff, and very tasteful dishes, designed beautifully. Double pork chop was delicious with an apple chutney. Flavor was great, but the chop was a little dry. Wife had the Miso Halibut special. It was very good as well. For two people, prepare for about $150.00 The only reason for a knock on a fifth star was our seating near the kitchen was noisy. There's something in the kitchen, a door or drawer that screeched every time they used it. Reminded me of the velociraptor screech in the movie Jurassic Park. Just grated my nerves a.little. Dessert was a donut with vanilla ice cream, strawberries and caramel. It was exquisite. read more

I had went here to eat when it first opened and had gotten a grilled chicken sandwich, it was a bit weird that the menu changed like everyday but whatever. The sandwich was pretty good but the service was not as good. I had to repeat ask for things because the server would forget. But I came back recently and it was somehow worse. The restaurant was completely empty. Not even a server in sight. It took 10 mins for someone to notice we were there. The food looked like they were writing a 200 word essay and they only had 160 words. There's way too much on it. Sometimes simpler is better but they apparently don't understand that. Good food. Great service. I came in by myself about 30 minutes before close. I was instantly greeted and at. As a nice surprise, they do a complimentary quick wine tasting before your meal. I ordered the Caesar salad, which was a huge portion, and the 6oz flat iron steak. Everything was delicious. The gravy was very good, the mashed potatoes were perfect and the steak was cooked just the way I ordered it. And to top it off, I normally don't like green beans, but these were seasoned well and flavorful. I actually wish I'd gotten double green beans! I'm staying at the Salishan Hotel so this was very convenient. I'll be back during my next visit! read more

We come to the coast from the Portland Metro area every 3 weeks for a 3-4 day stay. We found this place online as well as their Facebook page and got excited to try those beautiful ribeyes and tomahawk steaks .. in photos of all reviews they look awesome. We finally made it this Sunday but after being seated we were handed a "Sunday" menu that had less than 1/2 of what their online menu offered. No tomahawk steaks, no ribeye steaks nor any New York steaks either. Fish & chips + a burger? seriously? ... no double cut pork chop either. Plenty of other local places that offer these options including some decent food trucks. Only other meat option on the menu was an 8 OZ fillet (that has no fat). Wow .. what a major disappointment. The "Chophouse" in their name was misleading tonight, what a let down, we walked out and got burgers to go from another popular place in Lincoln city. Not sure we will try them again. read more

Quality food, priced comparable to other fine dining in the area. I sat at what would be the bar although it was used more for storage and meetings while staff prepared drinks. A couple large tables in this room could make a nice happy hour area if they wanted. Dining room is a long narrow space with multiple 4 tops. I didn't go back there so only a glance. Staff is great, I was served by the chef's wife. I ordered the crab and prawns bisque, and miso salmon. The bisque was amazing with lots of meat. I filled up pretty well on just this. Salmon was beautifully presented and had great flavor, the fish a touch overcooked would be the only negative. Overall, excellent meal, great service. $72 out the door for 1 with a beer. read more

Restaurant is in the back of a market. Walked in Saturday night at 4:15 and had to admit no reservation when I arrived; asked if they had a spot at the bar since was "just me", and was ushered right in. One other single at the bar and a table of two also in the restaurant (pretty empty). Was disappointed to learn that the dinner menu wasn't available during "happy hour" until 5pm, but decided to make due with the limited food options with the happy hour menu. Soups only available in "cup" size during happy hour, so settled on a Shrimp cocktail and Bruschetta with a glass of Cab. Got 7 shrimp and three halves of bruschetta. Bruschetta: A little much on the balsamic glaze (on the plate then on each piece, but overall fine for "pre-dinner". Make sure you check your bills, though. I was charged significantly more than the posted price for wine on the happy hour menu, and had to call it out, asking for a copy of the menu, to compare to my bill. Left with an overall bad "taste" in my mouth. read more

This is the third time I've been to this cute little restaurant in the Salashan marketplace. The food was outstanding, and the service and ambience was spectacular! We started with salads and the soup of the day, which was onion and cauliflower. Sounds like a strange combination, but it was delicious. Our friends had the clams and they were in a very creamy broth. The halibut fish and chips were tasty. But my filet mignon was cooked to perfection and tender as it could be. Between the service and the actual food I'm not sure what was worse. The salad was tiny. It was more of a side, this is an $18 salad. We got the catch of the day, the fish was over cooked and basically rubber. We were hacking at the fish with a butter knife. The potatoes underneath were raw. I have never been served a meal that was both raw and overdone. The service. The hostess served us meanwhile apologizing for it because 3 waitresses were serving a large group. We could see them standing around talking while not paying attention to us. We waited a full 20 min before said hostess came to our table. I fully regret not walking out then and there. We really wanted to enjoy this cute little restaurant! What a disappointment. Service was astoundingly slow; we asked for more water and a server took away the water decanter, never to be seen again. We didn't actually have water brought to us for another half hour at least. Staff were inattentive and not particularly friendly. Cocktails were undrinkable - we had to send our margaritas back. Then we were left to order wine from their sad wine selection. We would have gladly purchased a nice bottle, but there were only maybe 10 wines total to choose from and the choices were lacking. The food was good!! Fish and chips were especially great. This place definitely has potential if they could improve their service and wine list. read more

We went for dinner midweek while staying locally. I had the clam chowder and Osso Buco and my wife the filet. All the dished were incredible. The service was great and they even included wine sampling before ordering your wine, a thoroughly enjoyable meal. My only regret was that we were not able to try the restaurant for breakfast the next day. One caveat, don't go by the online menu, as it doesn't reflect the offerings that day. read more

We have been to Oshens Chophouse for dinner twice and are planning on making dining there our weekly ritual. The menu is elevated and creative, and the food is superb! The Chef meticulously executes each dish which makes eating there an event. Their onion soup is the best! Their Ribeye, Pork Chops, Filet and Fish of the Day choices are mouthwatering. There are no words to describe their deserts!! The warm donut with strawberries, ice cream and caramel drizzle is what dreams are made of. But what truly sets this beautiful restaurant apart from the rest are the wonderful owners and the incredibly sweet people who work there. The burger is a mixture of wagu beef, bison, boar and elk...he really enjoyed it. A chophouse is a nice alternative to seafood on the coast. We will be back. read more

This elevated restaurant is among out top 5 between Lincoln City all the way to Newport. Their dinner menu has a nice variety of options including top grade steaks. Recently (9/2023) they started serving breakfast from 8-noon on Saturday and Sundays. We were over the moon with the quality of sourced menu items all prepared with palate bursting flavor. The first time I went was on Easter to pick up meals to deliver and later EVERYONE raved about the food...including us! We ordered French Onion Soups, Brushettas, Miso Seared Salmons w/ a Black Truffle Potato Stack, Carmelized Pear & Walnut Salads. Last night my husband and I decided on French Onion Soups, Chimichurri Steak Beef Tips and the "Paniolo" Cowboy Ribeye and again, it was the best food we have had in a long time! The F.O. Soup is the best we have ever tasted! The Cowboy Ribeye was perfectly cooked, wonderfully seasoned and was enough for us to share! We saved the Beef Tips for lunch today and OMG!...the pineapple relish they come with is AMAZING! Some people may say price is high but for the quality of food and serving sizes with extra leftover for another day...the prices are worth it for us and the owners and their staff are absolutely sweet & magnificent! Unbelievably bad! We arrived with a reservation (verified on my phone). The hostess said the reservation did not come through on their end. The hostess talked to the manager and explained what happened. He said he could work us in - maybe 20 minutes. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and a mixed drink - $46 dollars (yikes). We waited at a table in the store area while they tried to work us in. 20 minutes passed- we asked for an update. Still no table - but were getting close. Meantime, we're noticing that people are coming in with no reservations and are being seated. We checked in again (45 minutes waiting now). No tables yet. We told the hostess we're fine just to order and eat at the table we're sitting at. They agreed, and that was the last we heard from anyone. Not even enough common courtesy to check in again, offer a glass of water ( which I asked for earlier and never received), or fess up and say we screwed up. I stepped up to pay for the drinks and we told them we are locals and eat out often. Moving forward, you're dead to us. Good luck treating your future patrons so poorly. I expect to see a vacancy and rental signs when I come to visit our favorite bakery just a few doors down from this location. read more
