While staying at Salishan, we always make a point to check out what's new at the Attic Lounge--and it never disappoints. We started with cocktails, and their selection is great, including some really thoughtful non-alcoholic options with adaptogen tinctures. Decided to keep it light with a soup and salad night, and it was the perfect choice. The soup du jour was a chicken pozole--so flavorful and comforting. The Caesar salad was amazing and hit all the right notes. We wrapped things up with a marionberry cobbler, which was the perfect sweet finish. Service always makes a difference, and Skyler was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. This spot continues to be a go-to for us, and we'll definitely be back. read more

The singer (scheduled for Wednesdays 5-7 during summer) talked his story and sang his original songs including one about fascists gonna lose. Assuming most were tourists he wanted to sell himself and recordings to people who will never see him again. I know way too much about his life for a lounge act. Better choice - sit on deck so it is background sounds. The menu is ok and presentation beautiful but flavors could pop more. Halibut was thin and side dishes bland. Filet small and plate beautiful. Ginger Chicken salad looked good too but when asked nobody would order same dish again. Better choice- enjoy a drink on deck and head to other local choices like Side Door. read more

I love this restaurant at the Salishan lodge. I've sat at the bar and a table service. Both had great service. A nice lodge feel yet with open air that helps with the Oregon weather. There are lots of options on the menu and was nice to pick and choose the right amount. Lots of specialty drinks and wine options. read more

We ordered bread but the server heard "bisque," we ordered the tenderloin and then a ribeye was served (and at a higher price point). We didn't want to make a fuss and ruin a birthday meal so I'll bellyache on Yelp because come on, at the prices this place charges, they could use a little improvement! The interior is lovely, like a mid-century lodge. We weren't staying at the hotel, but had a reservation for dinner. The first thing we noticed when we entered through the lobby was a musty-musky sort of smell... like the air wasn't circulating. This carried over a bit into the dining area, which was warm and spacious. It was odd how LOW the music was! The food was ok. We shared a seafood medley, which was described as having scallops. When I read that, I was excited! I love cutting into a well-seared scallop. However, when it arrived, we learned that the scallops were chopped into bits and mixed with the risotto cake. It was good, but that was a disappointment that could've been prevented with a better menu description. When we were done eating, we waited quite a while for our table to be cleared, and for our check to be paid. This was odd, since I noted 4 servers and only 8 tables. read more

We arrived late to the resort and decided to head up to The Attic for a bite. Little did we know we were about to have one of the best meals we've had all year. We started with some cocktails which were very strong, always a good sign. Our server was very kind, even finding us a nice private table. There was a bar area and then on the other side of the little firewall more of a restaurant area that we sat in. We started with some focaccia bread, which was amazing, and then both bought a salmon meal which again was the best thing I had all year. It was a little pricey, but oh my gosh, was it worth it. Came in around 5 PM for a dinner reservation upon arrival there was no other guests in the dining area, which was kind of nice because it was quiet. We started with the focaccia bread and whipped butter. It was amazing creamy buttery lots of flavor definitely filling for an appetizer. Ordered the tomato caprice salad upon arrival I was a little bit confused because I thought it was like an actual mixed salad however, the plate was a unique take on a salad, plated very aesthetically. Overall filling as well, used it as a shareable. For entrées, we ordered the Creamy Forest mushroom Fettuccine, added chicken and it was absolutely out of this world. First off I could've done hits the pasta ALONE. so much flavor and love put into every. Single. bite. The golden harvest chicken was also a favorite. The fingerling potatoes were so soft and cooked to perfection. Whatever sauce that was im OBSESSED. If ever in the area, I would totally eat here again. Servers were great, view was fantastic. I had the painted hills filet- so great! Possibly the best sear I've ever had. Husband got the seafood trio. Good, crab wasn't as fresh as expected, though he is from Alaska. Airline chicken was fantastic! Service was a bit slow, water refills were never offered though we drained the carafe after the apps. Focaccia app was terrible. Whatever was served was NOT focaccia but seemed more like a dry cornbread. The herbed butter was not herbed, just butter. No one goes there because every time you try to give them another chance they do something that's so over the top idiotic that you wonder why you bothered. Read the reviews! One thing was totally uncooked, another thing was totally weird. Sometimes there's no service, another time someone is fawning all over you and telling you life story. Half the time you go there and they take your order and then they come back after 10 minutes and tell you that they're out of three things that you ordered. This was incredibly disappointing for a dinner date on our romantic getaway! The ribeye was gross -- undercooked and no crust. The focaccia didn't have enough air bubbles to be focaccia. New menu since last time we visited. Pizza crust was good but the sauce and toppings were very bland and very little toppings. My food came cold - cold fries, cold grilled chicken sandwich. They forgot my sides that were for my sandwich. I was done eating the sandwich before the sides and new hot fries arrived. The bar was packed with children and crying babies. I wasn't sure what to expect given some of the reviews, but our experience at The Attic Restaurant inside Salishan Lodge was great. From the moment we stepped up to the host, we were treated with exceptional service. We were a party of six and decided to order a variety of appetizers and dinner plates, serving them family-style in the center of the table so we could all sample a bit of everything. The appetizers were fantastic, and the dinner plates were simply out of this world. The mac and cheese with jalapeños, in particular, was a mouthful of deliciousness. The Attic Lounge is a sad dissapointment in food, service and ambiance. We were say next to a fireplace that kept going off and on every minute. The staff suffer from tremendous turnover and are unskilled enough that they dont even know to clear soup or salad plates away before putting down your entrée. We had to ask them to take the empty dishes away. A caprese salad was served straight out of the refrigerator where it had been sitting at about 38°. So cold the flavors could not appear and quite a shock. Tomato soup was overspiced and clam chowder was so thick it was like mashed potatoes in a cup. Our drinks didnt come until halfway through the meal. One entrée we ordered called the Coastal Medley was described as having salmon, shrimp and scallops yet only the salmon was apparent on the plate. We were told when we asked that there most assuredly was some shrimp and scallop but they were minced up into the fried risotto patty that the salmon sat on. It was a good dish just really not the "coastal medley" described. Will look elsewhere in the future for a good meal on the coast. read more

This is perhaps the best spot for vegans on the coast (Newport to Pacific City at least). The restaurant is definitely on the higher-end so we made reservations ahead of time but it wasn't too crowded mid-week in late December. Many of my the items are vegan or can be made vegan and they are clearly marked as such on the menu. We had the mezze platter and a cup of jackfruit chili and then pasta primavera. The hummus was definitely a reinterpretation of the original as it missed the typical garlic, lemon, tahini and cumin but still delicious. The pasta was very well made and full of bold flavors. I cant believe how ridiculous the system is to order at The attic. I used the qr code for the menu, they said that is incorrect now and to check YELP. Yelp wouldnt give me the menu unless I downloaded their app, annoying. There was NO MENU at all when I got on YELP with my laptop. 2 more angles searched and no cigar! I'm hungry and my family has the car, no dinner for me tonight! Salishan Lodge! Please get your restaurant under control, the reviews are so bad that I'm wondering if I dodged a bullet. We made a reservation for dinner on a Sunday evening, but decided to stop by for a cocktail the afternoon before just to check it out. We were told to seat ourselves on the patio. So far so good. Excellent cocktails- we met some friends we ran into at the resort here and had after dinner cocktails and deserts. Vodka & soda is my go to cocktail and I'm pretty picky- the Better Vodka & Soda was perfect. I also had the Hocus Pocus and it was both super tasty and fun! Service was great- our bartender was so helpful and seemed super excited to help us- we could tell he really loves his job and enjoys making cocktails. The lavender crème brûlée was so good- definitely recommend! Only downside is that this bar closes pretty early - 10pm on a Saturday ....wish they were open a little later for us night owls. read more

The bar area and staff were nice and friendly however we ordered the shrimp and crab cocktail which was the worst I've ever had. The shrimp were room temperature, the crab was basically none existent and what was there was absolutely horrible tasting. Top that off with a very strange cocktail sauce. We decided to not eat dinner knowing you could have bought shrimp and cocktail sauce from a grocery store and had a much better experience. read more

I don't always have high hopes for the food at resort restaurants but the food here was pretty good. There we're a couple hit and miss items but overall good food. My friend is still raving about the turkey sandwich and has recommended it to others she has encountered who report back that they also loved it. We thought the pretzel bites were a little too dense and dry but the beer cheese sauce was excellent. Josh and the other bartender (a young lady whose name we did not get) provided awesome service and it was a pleasure to watch them work. They made some beautiful craft cocktails, all while keeping things clean and moving at the bar and you could see they enjoyed what they were doing and made us feel like special guests. read more

I was apprehensive about eating here as it receives three stars on Yelp. It was crowded, so we sat outside. As it was dusk and breezy we started to cool off, so we asked if we could be reseated inside, and were promptly moved to a nice table. Even though it was busy, we were served quickly, and the food arrived without long waits. Being new to this restaurant I played it safe with a chicken sandwich and salad. My wife had the salmon which was not only perfectly cooked, but she said some of the best she had ever eaten. With her salmon came a generous portion of vegetables. Our margaritas were good, as was the wine. Following dinner I had sherry and she had a terrific Spanish coffee, made with real hand whipped cream, not something out of a can. First I'd like to start by saying, the amount of vegan options were absolutely incredible. The restaurant and resort in general is really working on being more conscious regarding wellness and dietary needs. We ordered the Grilled Shishitto Peppers with Vegan Lemon Aioli and 2 vegan flat breads (they were super accommodating with making the non-vegan one with vegan cheese at no additional cost). Food was delicious, price was right, and service was wonderful! Shoutout to Sam for being absolutely wonderful! Looking forward to trying more of the menu! read more

The worst service I've experience in restaurant, the staff would only stare and not accommodate, fyi it's Sunday and not busy. Finally when host approached us. We asked for bar sitting. Host proceeded to give us menu and silverware. Directed us to a dirty bar with plates still on the table . We stood there and waited for 10 minutes for someone to clean the mess or even acknowledge it . They continue to stare and not correct the situation. Very uncomfortable environment, as I am black tall man and my girlfriend is a beautiful Asian. I decided to clean the mess myself to make the best of the situation, considering we drove 2 hours and was very hungry. Sat down after cleaning for another 5-10 mins. NO SERVICE STILL. Only stares! After watching me do their job. Would not recommend this establishment to anyone who isn't older, with small children or isn't white. Terrible experience. read more

NOT the wow one would expect from a resort spa and golf locale. Like the less than stellar Marketplace downstairs, the service was slow, poor, and as described my recent Yelpers- nearly non existent. From being told we couldn't move tables due to other upcoming reservations (and no one's showed up for those tables), to a menu with only three entrees, food served lukewarm and dry, water never refilled until we finally asked, and several menu items not available, we were thoroughly disappointed. Thought we could try to close out a disappointing dinner with dessert (which should be easy) only to be told no vanilla ice cream to go with the cobbler.
