For instance, I needed a formal black tie suit and a casual jacket outfit for a gala in July. The employee Javi was personable and knowledgeable, helping me put together colors, textures, et. al. And yet, a place of this obvious capability did not have a black shirt in my size. I only wear 17.5 by 34. A black shirt. This was a shirt I promptly and effortlessly purchased at Brooks Brothers later on. But Jos couldn't handle it? A simple black shirt? And then, they had to order a white shirt for me because they didn't have one of those either. A simple white shirt? Seriously? That's embarrassing. I am presently waiting a couple weeks for all alterations (some of which they were late with) and that one shirt to come in. Overall, it was a fine experience, leaving me with a great ensemble, but when they show their shortcomings, those shortcomings do shine. A.

While Mom relaxed in the comfy chairs in front of the HDTV, the employee and I got busy finding the items on the list. When one of the items couldn't be found on the sales floor he excused himself for a trip to the storage room and returned with the sizes and colors we had requested. After ringing up the purchase, he found gift boxes and went to the trouble to neatly put the items into the gift boxes for us. This was very nice, as in years past at Casual Male XL boxes were either not available or they were given flat for us to complete on our own. It is still a bit pricey, but I do like the availability of sizes and styles available for the big and tall men's needs.

A lot of miss communication in between crew leaders and employees. I was seen as less due to my age. I consider myself very down to learn! But every learning chance I got they won't extend it and I would never move forward through training. They care more about there sales than there employees. The store manager was super mean to me and kept giving me less and less hours of work, when I finally came forward on why this was happening, she said she does this because she puts her "best" employees first to get more hours. VERY UNFAIR. unfair to those who are willing to try there best. I thought I was the problem until I now have my new retail job and can fully say that the work environment at vineyard vines is awful! not teen, growing, friendly at all! They were having a ridiculous sale, and I have an Ann Taylor credit card... So I ended up saving over $200. I bought 4 items and paid a little over $100 which for Ann Taylor is not too shabby. The service was really good too. They grab your clothes and start you a fitting room and are really good about checking on you and seeing if you need any other sizes or if you need their help putting outfits together. There was also a "scarf specialist" that worked there and was helping people pick scarves and style them! They were all quite helpful! I love that they had such a great sale and would definitely recommend stopping by soon if you need some work clothes in your closet!

The young man (crap - I'm getting old) referred to the woman a b*tch trying to cause him trouble and gave an elegant soliloquy to the entire store highlighting his desire to slap her should she return. Nice dude. Real classy. Then, a young girl came out of the dressing room in a dress and wondered out loud if they might have any belts to go with it. The two associates (now sitting on the counter together, thumbs ablazing on their cell phones) pointed vaguely to the back. No one hopped up to show her exactly where they were? Maybe pick out a couple that might look fantastic with her dress?? Sonuva... this girl and her mother were out to drop some benjamins on a new wardrobe. The girl wanted the belt off a mannequin, but was being completely ignored (I got the distinct feeling they didn't want to go through the trouble of removing it for her). At any rate, I'm (not so) secretly hoping the owner gets her eyes on this review and keeps a closer watch on what's going on in her boutique. This was an unbelievable case of tacky customer service, and I'd hate to let something like that turn guests off to this cool little boutique.
