I had three scheduled surgeries in 2021 two were major joint replacements and one was a shoulder…read morerepair. Dr Acree did all three. First replacement 6/1 with an incredibly quick recovery, I walked in on my own power about 18 days after surgery for follow up and staple removal. Second replacement was 10/1 took about 45 days to recover, as I was told and had read many articles about no two surgeries are alike... I agree. Looking back almost a year now I am completely recovered and back to my normal schedule. Dr Acree, his PA Elizabeth and all the staff I had contact with were amazing, caring, concerned, prompt and just very friendly people to work with. If you are in the Rockwall area and are having orthopedic issues, this is your guy.

I had a very upsetting and unprofessional experience at Orthopedics of Rockwall on Ridge Road…read moreduring my recent appointment. I arrived on time, completed my paperwork, and was initially assisted by kind and professional staff. However, while being escorted for x-rays, a male x-ray technician (name unknown) entered the room and began yelling at me aggressively because I was briefly on my phone while ending a work-related call. His tone was loud, hostile, and intimidating. I asked him calmly not to speak to me that way, but he continued yelling and then stormed out of the room. I felt frightened, shaken, and unsafe. No patient should ever be spoken to in that manner--especially in a medical setting. The behavior was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. The technician who completed the x-rays was apologetic, and the doctor later apologized as well, which I appreciate. However, that does not excuse the initial interaction. Policies can be enforced without yelling or intimidating patients. This experience left me visibly upset and crying, and it took time for me to regain my composure. I am sharing this because no one should feel threatened or afraid during a medical visit. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses staff conduct so other patients do not have a similar experience.

Nothing makes me happier than being able to spend time with them in a competitive environment Last year, I was in Cuba with my 13 year old playing baseball and had the pleasure of fielding a fly ball in left field and holding the runner on second with a crisp throw to my son on third base. It was a small moment, but one that I will look back on when I'm in my rocking chair. There is no doubt that this was a result of years of great advice from the right people. My "go to" doctor for the moments that matter to me most in life is Steve Horwitz. I have worked with him over the past 20 years on general health, physical health, digestive care, soft tissue injuries to elbow, calf and shoulder, overall flexibility and spinal care. Instead of being crushed when he moved from MD to TX, I got on a plane and went to see him instead. It was worth the trip. Steve does a great job of diagnosing the problem, helping to treat the root cause of the problem, as well as the symptoms that are nagging you. The other aspect of his care that sets him apart is that he educates you on your responsibility of taking care of your body. Without a doubt the best source of knowledge and care that I have every run across.

I know this because I have been a patient of Dr Horowitz, as has been my wife, and many friends. He looks at a patient in a wholistic fashion and takes no short cuts. He is all about teaching you the work necessary for recovery. He is especially good with athletes since his objective is either keep you on the field or get you back on the field. This man knows a great deal and is willing to share it with his patients. Dan Basta Silver Spring Maryland.
