This was one of our favorite restaurants in Venice. It's not annoyingly touristy and the food and wine were top notch. It's in a cozy little street, but not too far from the Grand Canal, and the staff was super friendly. If I had to pick one word to describe it, I would say "charming."

Just amazing quaint atmosphere with awesome food and service, highly recommend for tapas and a glass of wine.

Thanks to Yelp we found one of the 3 non-touristy restaurants in Venice! Sat in the quiet alley all by ourselves for awhile, it was a travel day for us so we were starving at 7:00, way too early to eat in Italy but oh well. We enjoyed spritzes and playing with Google Translate deciphering the hand-written menu until the kitchen opened. Every 10 minutes a guy would come out and add more decor to the windowsills in the alley; a candle, a flower in a vase, etc. Lovely. For our first night in Venice I had to have Seppie in Nero over polenta, Cuttlefish in black ink sauce. My wife ordered the cicchetti sampler and the unadventurous niece went with the meat lasagne (again). Oh my it was all sooo delicious. They gave us limoncello to finish it off and I got my niece's. Wins all around. If you want a nice quiet authentic Venetian meal, avoid the tourist traps along the Grand Canal and head to this place.

One of the best places we've eaten in Venice!! So warm and inviting! So close to the Ponte Rialto, yet doesn't seem touristy! Brava!!

I had squid with black ink on polenta--apparently an authentic dish in Venice.

Lots and lots of restaurants to choose from in Venice but this unassuming restaurant is a true gem…read more It's easy to miss as it's tucked in a corner right by a bridge. Once inside they have a couple tables with small window views of any gondolas passing by. We started off with a plate of lightly fried sardines topped with pickled white onions. The fry on the fish was super light and those vinegar-y onions were the perfect pairing. We cleaned that plate. The lasagna was well balanced with the meat, sauce, cheese. The squid ink pasta was chewy/al dente with a subtle touch of seafood flavors giving the cuttlefish. It was very umami but nothing too overbearing. Delicious! It's a Family business that was been around for many years. Grazie to the friendly staff and chef!

The jovial mood with the waiters with big personalities is gone. The menu you can find online is no longer available so you get a very limited menu to choose from--nearly entirely seafood. So if you have anyone in your party that just wants pasta with a red meat sauce or a non seafood lasagne, not available. We were a party of 8. Two people ordered the scallop appetizers. Pretty presentation on shells. 3 tiny scallops in the shells. More like an amuse bouche. Totally disappointing. The linguine with clams as an entree had clams so small you almost needed a magnifying glass to see them. Couldn't taste the clams and annoying to try to eat something so tiny , and just try to eat the pasta with all those tiny shells. The baby shrimp on polenta was actually good. But again the shrimp were like tiny hatchlings tempura battered. Tasted okay except for those that were soggy from the polenta that was very soupy. I wanted the gnocchi with crab which was on the very limited menu but no longer available. The alternative was gnocchi with a sea bass sauce which I chose but didn't like at all. The gnocchi were good but the sauce wasn't at all for me. We had to continue to ask for side dishes for the bread, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. We will not return. Poor value for your money. Plus there is a cover charge and service included in your bill which was a surprise. Very sad to see our favorite Venetian restaurant decline so much.
