I ended up here unexpectedly after running an errand in the area, which was perfect since I've always wanted to try out the DeKalb Market. A friend had previously recommended the fettuccine Alfredo, & I am so glad I gave it a shot! I haven't had this dish in forever, & it was lovely. It was also fun to watch them make the pasta right in front of you. While waiting, I ordered an espresso & asked for a little piece of bread just to have something coat my stomach. To my surprise, they brought out a complimentary plate of bite-sized flatbread pieces topped with garlic & melted cheese, warmed up right in the pizza oven. Second time dining with osteria but finally eating at the dekalb market hall location located in basement level. I dined at the flagship location and was impressed with the flavors and delegate house made pastas. My go to at most legit Italian eateries are gnocchi bolognese. Osteria's gnocchi is bigger than usual but it melts in your mouth. Consistent for sure. The carbonara was actually made well. Had to add more pepper but balanced dish. The blueberry gelato was light and semi sweet. Not over powering. The chef made all dishes in an open kitchen with dining tables surrounding. There's even a fire pizza oven there. You'll get the most for the prices. Michelin guided eatery that's one of my favorite Italian eateries in Brooklyn. While shopping in the market, take a break and eat at Osteria. read more

This is such a cute Italian spot. Service was amazing, we were seated quickly and taken care of well all night. The food was great, We ordered a lot of food and it was all amazing. The chicken parm was gigantic and the noodles were fresh, sauce wasn't acidic which I prefer. Steak was really tasty, Cooked perfectly. The smoked oyster risotto dish was surprisingly good, I'm not an oyster person but those were delicious. We got a round meatball pesto pizza that was surprisingly good. I didn't end up trying the rectangle meatball pizza that was ordered. Dessert was delicious, the crème brûlée was perfect. Also the hot brownie and homemade ice cream was so rich. Oh my god, it's the best Italian food I've had! If I could give ten stars, I would. Chef Angel is AMAZING! He was very nice. My husband and I always go to the DeKalb Market, and I've been dying to try this place, and I'm so happy I did. The entire staff was so friendly. I could taste how fresh the pasta was. I enjoyed watching my food being made. I've never been to Italy, but I bet the pasta tastes like the penne la vodka I had at Osteria. The vibe was super chill. I ordered penne al la vodka with chicken, which was delicious!!! I had never tasted a vodka sauce like that before. It was so creamy and had so much flavor. I cleaned my plate and never ate so fast (lol). My husband ordered shrimp Alfredo, and it was delicious. I told Angel the food was terrific. He gave me and my husband a complimentary dessert. It was so good!!! Everything was delicious, and I can't wait to go back. The food isn't even comparable to the food in Little Italy. I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

Osteria Brooklyn @DeKalb is already off to a great start and I'm happy to have it as it as a new food option in Dekalb Market Hall. I am a frequent visitor to the OG Osteria Brooklyn location in Clinton Hill and I love that they mostly share the same menu. I think Osteria Brooklyn @DeKalb has specials that are different from Osteria Brooklyn but said specials are worth a trip to this new second location. Food: I shared the Shrimp + Mushroom Truffle Risotto with a bestie and we, devout seafood pasta orderers ;), LOVED every bite of it. Both the shrimp and risotto were perfectly cooked and the truffle sauce was subtly delicious. The mushrooms were also great but I would have loved for them to have a char or crunch so there would be more diversity in texture on my plate. Drinks: The semifreddo was great. It was tart but refreshing and I enjoyed how much the Blackberry flavor came through. Decor: Osteria Brooklyn @DeKalb snagged prime real estate in Dekalb Market Hall as they are located right near the elevators and in front of the escalators that lead up to the Fulton St entrance. There are about 6 two-seater tables in front of their corner but they have many seats along the bar as well. Each side of the bar / stove could probably seat an additional 8 people. I also like that the bar seating feels like chef's table seats. When the food's spectacular, that's always the best seat in the house lol. Service: The service is lovely and prompt. They gave a great drink recommendation and checked in on us frequently. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place and I'm excited that it's finally open! read more

Our spaghetti cacio e pepe used dry pasta and lacked punch from the cheese while the gnocchi di ricotta's garlicky richness became a bit one-note after a few bites. I don't know if it happened. It was hard to tell. But the servers were friendly and helpful. I ordered the burrata salad, which was fresh and delicious, though a little on the overdressed, overly-salty side. And I got the gnocchi with pesto. Again, delicious though over-oiled. There was no bread to soak up the richness. They said they were out. And though chinotto is on the menu, they also did not have it. The gnocchi dish was too rich to eat but i took it home. The pasta that my partner got also was so rich and oily that he couldn't finish it. Despite the friendly staff, I don't think we will go back. read more

Cute Italian spot right when you enter Dekalb in the escalator. It was too early, but the Aperol Spritz sign caught my eye made a note to check it out later. After having lunch, I popped by and ordered the tiramisu and had a ball. Loved the presentation and the service was so polite/the gentleman at the cashier was so chipper. Great dessert; it was light, delicate and had the perfect amount of moisture from the espresso. 10/10 dessert, I would come back for their pastas and antipasti dishes. read more

Came here on a Sunday night and witnessed one of the most foul open kitchen scenes I've ever seen. Ordered the Pappardelle & Osso Bucco (no osso bucco on Sundays, only oxtail ragu, but that's fine). One cook comes out of the back and starts peeling a slab of what was once fresh pappardelle into a vat of old pasta water that looked like it had been sitting all day. Another chef spooned pre-cooked ragu into a pan and seasoned it with the same bare hands he was using to pick at his ear, use his iPhone, and wipe on his shirt. The mixture was topped off with not one, not two, but three squirts of oil. The resulting concoction was inedible. read more

My hot date ordered the crab ravioli, I ordered the signature fettuccine. The fettuccine was good, I didn't get a lot of the truffle flavor aside from the ones on top, maybe a little truffle oil to go around the outside of the pasta would improve it, but it was still an amazing plate of food. the ravioli was amazing though, no notes. The bread with the tomato spread was to die for as well, we had two servings lol. Overall there are a lot of great places in the market but if u need a pasta fix, this is it. Cintia (I think that's her name I'm so sorry if I didn't get it right) was amaaazinggg as far as service so shout out to her ! I LOVE Osteria Brooklyn in the Dekalb Market hall at City Point! Every week I head down from my business to have dinner, wine and dessert. Karim and Cintia are the sweetest with top notch service! The chefs always deliver and I always clean my plate. The food is absolutely delicious and made with love. Osteria's has an open style kitchen so you can watch your meal being prepared. My favorite dishes are the Fettuccine Alfredo, Crab Ravioli and now the Spaghetti. Favorite desserts are Crème Brule and I enjoyed the tiramisu. Ask Karim to tell you the best wine for pairing. I just had the most wonderful dinner! While waiting for a show at the Brooklyn Paramount, I had an hour to kill. I sat down for a wonderful cocktail, a glass of wine, and the cacio e pepe. The food was made to order right in front of me, and it was delicious. The staff was absolutely lovely, and they were so attentive. Great interaction, and they kindly gave me the most delicious dessert . One star for the great drink and nice waitstaff (mostly) but I had a horrible experience with the employee working the cash register (fedora-wearing tall guy). I went out for drinks with coworkers after a long work day and clearly misunderstood the timing for happy hour, which seemingly has different hours determined by each individual business in the market. When I asked about it after seeing my drink (for which I had already paid) was $18, he completely overreacted, repeatedly telling me to go around and look at the sign. I reiterated multiple times that it was fine and it was my mistake, trying to diffuse the apparent conflict, but he continued giving me attitude and pressing me about why I "hadn't mentioned happy hour" when ordering until I finally asked to cancel my drink order. At that point he told me very sarcastically that the drink was already being made, so I wasn't able to cancel it, and then continued badgering me about my happy hour misunderstanding. I don't understand why someone with such a short fuse would work in the service industry but the behavior was appalling and I see more maturity displayed by my five-year-old students every day. read more
