Stopped by during an aperitivo hour, so the menu was more limited. The pastas were $15 each and they were all very good! I will say the carbonara was a bit on the salty side, probably due to the bacon, but overall, everything was very flavorful and well cooked. The calamari was nice (would have been even better with lemon to squeeze over) and the mozzarella sticks were crispy and had a good cheese pull. It's a cute and well decorated spot (and I love the bathroom decor). Our server was very kind and friendly as well. Would come back for the full menu next time! read more

Went with a group of friends so was able to try a variety of dishes. Each pasta dish (pesto, cream, spaghetti and meatballs) was cooked with just enough bite and packed with flavor from the sauces they were drenched in. The crispy branzino on top of the broccolini was also an excellent dish. Each entree was just the right amount for one person, not too big of a portion but filling. We also ordered 2 desserts to share and the standout was the almond ice cream that came with the cake. Would totally get it on its own next time. read more

Really good and high quality hand made pasta. Carbonara was perfectly aldente. Soft but still had a nice bite to it. Also the sauce with bacon was so good! Caesar salad was solid and not too heavy. They officially have gluten free pasta and I'm so happy! I'll start with the star of the show though - the prosciutto and melon. It was so fresh and light - the perfect starter dish. Moving on to the pasta, it was very tasty and you could not even taste that it was gluten free. The portion size was very big, the meat was very tender and the sauce was very flavorful. We got broccolini on the side and it had a nice bite to it. I only wish we had room for dessert. In terms of the service, they were very fast and friendly. The inside was well decorated and spacious. We decided to sit in their outside patio and it was well covered. Note that do not allow dogs in the patio or inside. I'll definitely be back! read more

The cacio e pepe was really tasty - not too salty and not bland either. The pasta shape, which I've never had, does a good job of staying saucy. Been mildly obsessed with trying this place because the name of it is so bland but the ambiance is so slick. That's the kind of contradiction that gets butts in seats, ya know? Well, I finally had my pasta night at Pasta Night and it was perfectly pleasant. We were seated immediately at this weird side counter cause we didn't have reservations (funny enough, reservations were wide open which is why we didn't bother. But I guess you're better off making them if you want a real table? The place was fairly empty otherwise as we showed up very early) but service was still attentive so whatever. My one other nit picky comment is there's no free bread here, which is a concept that's certainly not new to the modern dining experience but still mildly annoys me nonetheless -- there's so much competition in the Italian food realm that offers cheaper prices and free bread so I don't know what the deciding factor is in who does or doesn't do it. Hopefully the extra cash they save goes directly into the pockets of the staff. But who cares about all of that when what matters is the pasta. Happy to report Yelp that the pasta is good. We got the pesto and the caccio e pepe, felt like two solid staples. Both were above average with their radiator and alien tentacle* pasta shapes (*maybe not the real name), cooked al dente and served in solid portions. You can also buy the sauces and fresh pastas at the front of the store if you just wanna DYI your own night of pasta at home instead of a pasta-filled pasta night at Pasta Night. Anyhow, solid date night sorta place. Would be open to coming back for sure and trying a bit more of the menu. read more

We walked in without a reservation and were seated immediately. Pasta Night offers an elevated "pay-at-the-counter" style of dining. While it felt a bit odd at first, once we sat down and the food arrived, my husband and I were practically salivating. We started with the bread and dipping oil and calamari. Both were fantastic. The olive oil, garlic, and parsley dipping oil was addictive, and the bread was fluffy and clearly house-made--it had that wonderful just baked smell. The calamari had a light, crispy batter and was packed with flavor. For our mains, I had the chicken Milanese and my husband went with the pasta with ragu. My Milanese was so good. It was seasoned to perfection, with a beautiful golden-brown crust, topped with a refreshing salad, shavings of parmesan, and cooked mushrooms. My husband enjoyed his pasta, but kept eyeing my dish, so he ended up eating mine as well. Overall, Pasta Night feels like a cozy neighborhood gem with food that bursts with flavor. I'm super excited to have found my new favorite Italian spot. read more

Nice little spot found after a graduation with the family. Drinks were solid. Very friendly peeps serving! For apps, the calamari and meatball flavors were great and the salad was a nice pairing. Pizza was decent. Some of the pasta dishes were a bit of a hit or miss. The Lasagna was great! The crab pasta - not so much. It didn't taste fresh at all and flavors did not blend well. Will come back for a quick night meal, but the restaurant does need to do better with some of the pastas so that they are standouts (Especially if it's called Pasta Night)! read more

They had the BEST pasta shapes, very squiggly, very fun. I kinda hoped for more pasta / more going on with the pasta for the price point, but it was still very delicious. This is the new sort of quick service/sort of table service Italian spot from the Ciao Gloria team, and right across the street from the great bakery/cafe. Go in and order at the counter, and then grab a seat, where they will bring your food out to you. Definitely sit in the nice little patio in the back while the weather is still good enough. Make sure you start with the Focaccia and the Insalata di Casa, and then get a bunch of pastas. The best one we tried was the Gemelli with Pesto, but "The Big Ragu" was also excellent. For dessert, the gelato from Biddrina is a perfect combo with the chocolate cake. Will definitely be back ASAP to try more pastas and the Chicken Milanese entree. read more

Pasta Night, when you enter, evokes the aperitivo. Rather than a line, you enter to standing tables with menus laid out where you can gather and decide on your meal. It's not quite pre-dinner drinks as in Italy, but it has somehow transformed the experience of waiting in line from dull and annoying to almost a social occasion. It is an unusual welcome, and a welcome change of pace. There is a bar where drinks are prepared directly in front of you in the entry way as you decide on your order. Once you have, you walk up to the cash register. Unlike other restaurants with counter ordering, you are then seated by the host or the cashier, a touch that helps make what can be a somewhat hectic process run a bit more smoothly. There is seating for solo diners at a bar that faces a wall (not my favorite, but I do appreciate that there is a spot for those who are dining alone). The menu is inspired by the traditional Italian approach to meals, and in a larger group you could really order a bit from each category. The menu also is perfectly suitable for a solo diner or couple, and the pasta is usually sufficient for a meal (not particularly large portions, but still plenty). On my first trip, I went with the spaghetti and meatballs (a classic), which was excellent. The tomato sauce tastes fresh, the meatballs are very flavorful, and the pasta excellent. My second trip was even better, starting with the pane cunzato (a bit pricy at $8 for a bit of focaccia, but still very tasty) and an eggplant parmesan special (made wonderfully and presented beautifully). Food comes out in around 10-15 minutes and is brought to you. I've not had much experience with the cocktail program, but the menu looks quite interesting. There are a handful of speciality cocktails, and a well thought out wine and beer list. There is also a rather long list of Italian sodas and mocktails, which should certainly appeal to those not looking to catch a buzz with their dinner. All that said, the pricing felt a bit steep relative to the rest of the menu. I understand that this is New York City, but a cheaper house red would certainly be appreciated. Even a Diet Coke clocked in at $5, which is just a bit much. I've not stayed for dessert yet, but they do offer it to you when you initially order, which is a helpful reminder and shows that they put some thought into the experience. Overall Pasta Night is very good, and could easily be both a date night or a quick evening meal. I will certainly be back to explore more of the menu. read more

Was quite impressed by pasta night. Came for some casual pasta and stayed for the price. Very well priced items on the menu. We got the calamari, white bean dip, cacio e Pepe and tiramisu & decadent chocolate cake for dessert. Each item was quite tasty and very good. The service was pretty good as well. Overall cannot complain at all. I'll definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu. I feel like they are prime for a neighborhood event to get the word out that they're there. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday night for a drink. We walked in around 4:45 PM to find their "snack menu". I guess this is a new trend for spots to open up early for drinks and bites without the expectation of a full menu. I had one of the house cocktails - the Vacation Drink. It's a fruity, coconut rum based cocktail that was similar to a rum punch. It's was sweet forward and I liked it. Service was quick. read more

Cheers to them trying a newish concept (fast casual pasta) in the 'hood. I think it works because the food was amazing. Concept is still working itself out but I am confident this place will be very popular soon. Also, wouldn't think other wise from the chef, Joseph Catalanotti, and owner of Ciao Gloria, Renato Poliafito. Simple well made pasta. Liking the concept. Order at the counter and get seated when there is a table available. Definitely a casual place with stellar food. Cacio e Pepe was a special tonight and it didn't disappoint! The Caesar salad is light and lemony with amazing croutons. The classic marinara came out piping hot and perfectly Al dente. It got really busy by the time we left around 7:30 so imagine there was quite a wait. Excited to have this new spot in the neighborhood. Delicious! We went for a 6pm reservation and got the calamari, mozzarella sticks, and salad to start. For mains we got the cavatelli pasta and ragu pasta which were both cooked perfectly and super tasty. For dessert we got the tiramisu and 3 layer cookies. Great portion size on all dishes we were very happy and completely stuffed I think we passed out on the couch for a few hours afterwards. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive there. We sat outside in the covered backyard shed and it was very comfortable and relaxing. Great spot, will definitely be back! read more

This is for the service only. The food here has been consistently good in our experience. We are -- or were -- regulars. However, we ordered delivery tonight for our kids' dinner and was told it would be delivered in a half-hour. We've now been sitting here waiting for nearly two hours. I called just now to ask for an update. The person who picked up just said they "got backed up" and are just starting to work through "a couple of orders" now. No apology. No offer to check on our order specifically. I had to ask him to check. Our estimated delivery time has now been pushed back by another 10 minutes. My kids go to bed in less than an hour. This is ridiculous. As I told the person over the phone, don't take orders if you can't fulfill them. read more

The greeter was horrible. There were 3 kids in the outdoor space who were running into the indoor space. I asked if she would ask the parents to not have the kids running through the restaurant. We purposefully sat inside because the kids were outside and we knew we didn't want the uncertainty of being outside especially given we just came from our morning/after walk. No issue with children but this is not a children's restaurant. The greeter said I am just a server and I can't speak to the parents. I asked is there a manager or someone above you she said no one on duty. She said I could do it. I said I had no problem doing so I came here because I have eaten here at least 4 times and I live in the neighborhood. Very disappointed that the guest are free to do whatever and not required to respect the guest. I believe there is a a way to respect and address all guests. We split the kale Caesar, which was perfectly dressed with breadcrumbs for texture and crunch. Our mains were the radiatore with sausage and the chicken Milanese. The pasta was very good. Pesto can sometimes err on the side of oily but this was creamy and dressed perfectly. The hot oil on the table was well used on the pasta. The chicken was lovely as well. i have lived in the neighborhood for 3 years . i am a big foodie and have been to every restaurant on vanderbilt multiple time . this fast food joint is unorganized overprice and under serviced . i tried to disregard the extremely high price for cup noodle soup quality pasta . and give this spot a try . but i warn you if you want a real pasta night go to forma pasta 2 blocks down !!! shout out to mack at the register for giving me the worst experience i have ever had in prospect heights ! he is lost in the sauce !! thank you !!! read more
