I love their salad and soups. It is pumpkin soup season right now and their pumpkin soup is very, very good. My favorite dish on the menu is their Rahm Schnitzel. Very well seasoned and not at all bland. I go most often for lunch and they have an abbreviated lunch menu which changes and they will also let you order off the full menu which is nice. Not a lot of German restaurants let you order from the full menu during lunch hours. The only downside is that you can't pay in debit card. So have euros with you when you go.

Ramstein village is a small village in between Landsthul and Meisembach and is on the Meisembach side of the village. There was a festival on-going at the time as well so the roads were blocked but we drive around them anyway. There used to be a German bowling alley there as well. Now closed but the gasthaus is still there. Worth the effort to go. The pizza is good as well. Lots of carry out for pizza. Lots of phone orders coming in. Traffic was light and service was good. The Pils was cold and good. Cold is relative here though since beer is just slightly cooler than room temp but it's brewed to be drank that way.

I´ve been eating here for the better part of three years but the reality is that they have two levels of service, one for the Germans and another for the Americans. I could literally be the first one in to sit for lunch but somehow others get served first or my order gets intercepted and served to a later arriving German customer. I usually bite my tongue but once in a while I get too torqued up and vent to a staffer like today as I was invisible to my waitress for 15 plus minutes until I walked to the bar to order. It took about 60 minutes from the time I sat to the time I got served with the melt-down in between. Other coworkers have shared similar experiences so it it isn´t just me. Bottom line is that if you are in the very first wave of customers to sit and order, you will easily be in and out in less than 45 minutes, if you arrive after that, add another 15-30 minutes to your sitting time.
