Yes it is convenient if you are already on base, but its not even like its all that cheap for what you are getting. This place is over priced trash. Their chicken Alfredo has boiled chicken and little to no Alfredo sauce. Each time we eat here we are appalled by the price to quality ratio. They do have a wide variety to choose from and as I've said before it's nice because it's "American style food". The atmosphere is nice and the staff has never been anything other than helpful in my few visits. I recommend trying it & forming your own opinion though. read more

Macaroni Grill is ok. Marc P. said it well; it's an American chain restaurant on an overseas military base. It's a nice option vs the food court. 1. The hostess and a couple of the waitresses were beyond rude. I walked in to see what was on the menu and check their hours. I said hi to the hostess and two waitresses hanging out at the hostess station. They looked at me as if i was interrupting their day / conversation without getting a hello in return. I expressed my thought of their rudeness and their attitude got worse. Put a smile on with a hello, how can I help you or get fired! Management needs to clean this issue up. 2. I had Gina for my waitress when I went back and she was very good. She was knowledgeable on the food and drink options. She was quick to get the orders in and get the items to my table quickly. She was a completely different experience than the hostess and the other two waitresses I initially met. 3. Cook did a good job. I had a ribeye medium well. It had some medium rare cooked portion when it came out, and the cook finished off correctly when I sent it back. Bonus for this place is you can see the kitchen and I could watch the cook who made the redoing of the steak a priority. Much appreciated and thanks to he cook for making it right. I'd go back to Macaroni Grill; I'd get the manager involved if I have the same experience with the hostess station. read more

Customer service was great. It's a nice atmosphere to sit back and talk with friends. Unfortunately the food was just okay. I got the chicken Parmesan sandwich and well it was in need of seasoning and sauce. It was too dry for my lacking. But the Cesar salad was tasty just wished the portion sizes were bigger. read more

First things first, this is an American chain restaurant....having reasonable expectations when you visit will go a long way in my opinion. My husband and I stopped by for lunch during their Saturday brunch/lunch rush. We only waited about 15-20 minutes for a table so that was a huge plus. I ordered the mom's ricotta meatballs with spaghetti, my husband got the Carmela's Chicken and we split the fried mozzarella. The food came out pretty quickly, which is a plus, but everything was just ok. It was not bad by a long shot, but its just not something that I see myself eating a second time or getting agin. Honestly, the spaghetti tasted better once I ate it after I got home. Food is good, service during the last couple of time has been crazy. Our waitress' at the bar tables have been terrible. This last time that I went today, the waitress served us bread without any utensils. We had to wait for about 5 minutes to see her until we could ask for utensils when that should have been the first thing she'd given us when we sat down. Another thing that was crazy was when we got our drinks, i specifically asked her for water with lemon and no ice. She served us both water with lemon WITH ice. I didn't want to correct her so I left that alone. When it came time to get our food, she served all of our food at the same time but you could tell that 3 of the entreé's had been sitting out while they waited for 1 to cook. So when we got our food, 3/4 was not hot but basically a warm/cold plate. It was not pleasant. When I ran out of tea, I asked for another one, the server forgot and I had to remind her. Then finally, when we asked for the check, she said she would get it. She came over to us, and asked if we were ready but she didn't even bring over the check! Talk about incompetent... She was terrible.. This reflected the last time my husband and I came, and if the food wasn't good, we wouldn't be coming. Went for a late lunch/early dinner around 4pm on a weekday with two of my kids. We got seated fairly quickly, in less than 5mins. I LOVE fried calamari so I had to try theirs. It was way too salty! Won't be ordering that again. I also had a garlic chicken flat bread, which was smothered with way too much arugula. Yuck! Had to pick so much of it out! My kids ordered off of the kids menu, Macaroni & cheese and chicken fingers w/ fries. Chicken fingers didn't really have much taste (must've put all the salt in the calamari) but was good when dipped in ketchup! Lol The fries, I have to admit, I love those tiny thin fries. First of all, you're going to have to get over eating at an American restaurant when overseas. Maybe you don't want to shell out the cab fare to go into town... maybe the kids are cranky and stressed out... maybe you just pushed a max augmented duty day with a two stop in the box and are exhausted to the point of delirium... there are reasons I can imagine someone eating here. That being said, Macaroni Grill brings it... A-OK. It's pretty much your standard Mac Grill. The food is alright, a bit pricy, but consistent, hearty and reliable. They provide complimentary bread to every table along with a dab of olive oil for dipping. It's kid-friendly. They speak English. You might as well be back in Oklahoma City. The virtues of this particular franchise lie in its convenient location within the relatively new KMCC jumbo-complex. It's in the mall, right across from the mega-BX, downstairs from the movie theater and hotel rooms. You don't even have to go outside. I've found the service to be hit-or-miss. Today we had Andrew, who was excellent, friendly and helpful. He even let us sit at the big round table up front, even though the section was technically closed, according to the know-it-all-hostess. The servers seem like they are all dependents, so not exactly professionals all the time. But there are plenty of decent apples in there. As far as being in Germany goes, they do have a few German beers on tap to include, you guessed it, pils and hefe. No German wine, but if you walk out into the mall you can get a bottle of the good stuff for $6. read more

When you're faced with really only two options for a sitdown dinner at the KMCC, I've found that the Macaroni Grill is the better choice. I've eaten here four times in the span of eight days and I got to say it's been good, but not great. I've had: Carmela's Chicken: A very flavorful dish overall. What makes this dish pop are the sautéed mushrooms and onions they put on it. The rigatoni was cooked perfectly and was great for scooping up the cream sauce. I also ordered it "spicy" to add some zing. The Chicken Marsala: Definitely a disappointment overall. If you've ever had it at the Cheesecake Factory then you know what a good chicken marsala tastes like. The chicken had way too much breading and the sauce lacked in flavor. Good portion size though. The Roasted Chicken and Arugula flatbread: When the waitress brought the flatbread out I was pleasantly surprised at house appetizing it looked due to the vibrant colors of the fresh veggies. The taste definitely didn't disappoint either. That's probably because I'm a huge fan of arugula in which they load onto this flatbread. If your not a fan then this dish is not for you. The chicken and bell peppers are good too but the arugula is definitely stands out the most. Service: I've had pretty good service each time I've been. Not great, but good. This is probably due to them being extremely busy each time I went. Two waitresses have stood out in their service though. Valerie who helped out in my dish decision making and Agata who just made our night entertaining with her humor. It isn't the best Italian food but for a quick meal on base, you'd be hard pressed to find something better. The food is fairly good from the dishes I've eaten but I do find the whole crayon gimmick to be cheesy. My friend has a pretty serious allergy, and Mel was extremely helpful in making sure there was no pepper in any of the recipes. My second time I had the Penne Rustica and it was great. That will probably be my go to dish from here on out. I am American working for army hospital so every so often I want an American style Italian dinner. Good food following the chain protocol 100%. Large glass of free water. My wife and I had lunch here last week. The hostess was nice enough. Waitress was ok. Not the most pleasant person in the world though. Straight to the point, the food was absolutely horrible. And I'm damn easy to please too. The square piece of bread they give you tasted like a piece of hard tack stolen from a Civil War museum display. I can and will drop a few bills for a great meal. But their prices for what you get are ridiculous. You will get much better Italian food for less than half the price right off base. We both had the lunch sandwiches and salad. The bread was stale and the chicken tasted like it had been cooked the day before. Salads were ok. The ice tea is sweet enough to give you dia-beet-us after the second sip. Understanding that some Americans are not adventurous when living overseas, they flock to the familiar- this is it. This is one of the things I hate. With that being said, when working at Ramstein AB, it is not easy to avoid RMG. Having eaten here a few times for lunch, I do enjoy the parmesan crusted chicken salad and the crusted sole dishes. Otherwise, I will pass on eating here. It probably doesn't help that all 3 times I have eaten here, the bread has been stale. Besides, compared to what may exist off base, this restaurant ranks low. If I want real Italian food, I'll just travel south to get the real stuff or venture to one of the many Italian restaurants nearby (owned and run by real Italians). read more

It's a shame, because Mac Grill, though a chain, does (or at least used to do) an impressive and even innovative menu with reasonable prices. I give Ramstein's Mac Grill credit for trying to put on the appearance of a Mac Grill from home. The wait staff can be friendly. Since the menu changed, the food is not especially impressive in price, quality, or quantity. If you're missing the feel of a Mac Grill from home, this establishment can give you a Mac Grill fix, but if you're looking for really good Italian food, you can probably do a better by going off base. read more
