Great music, good food seating outside courtyard patio. Seafood very tasty flavor medium. Slightly overpriced. Food decent.

We were left waiting at the register for a long time even though there was no one in front of us. Even after telling the staff that we were ready to place our order, no one assisted us. Every employee who walked by clearly saw us waiting, yet they acted as if we didn't exist. The staff were extremely rude and showed no courtesy or basic customer service. After waiting for about 20 minutes without anyone taking our order, we decided to leave. Very disappointing experience and unacceptable service.

Absolutely amazing!! From the food to the staff to the ambiance, I'm super impressed. They were SLAMMED pack (understandably) but Carly and Alberto didn't miss a beat with serving us and making sure our experience was top tier. It's a very open environment with decent seating options, we chose to sit at the bar and it was spacious (which is always my concern) and comfortable. The drink selection is excellent for a busy spot, the drinks were made fresh and fast and the bartenders knew the answers to every question we asked. We got a variety of food selections and ALL of them were scrumptious, I highly recommend the fish bites for a light but filling tasty meal. I can't sing my praises enough for this place, with this being so busy and popular I thought maybe it would be lacking but it was perfect. Highly recommend baby!!

Amazing service and atmosphere. Most of all, I love my mojitos and we ordered mango & strawberry flavored. Best mojitos ever!

Came specifically for grilled prawns which to our complete disappointment were just deep fried to oblivion. If shrimp jerky is your thing, these are your jam. Maduros were nice.

It was a very laid back spot to enjoy music, food and learn more about the culture and celebrate Benito's roots as well with the various photos around. The gal running it all was so upbeat, kind and made the experience even that much greater!! We WILL be back!

Restaurant close to castle. Very close to museum. It is outdoor courtyard restaurant. Food picture show on the wall. You can select what you want. We got the Churrasco that come with fried plantains. The meat for the Churrasco is delicious. Meat is tender. It has good chargrills flavor. We also got the local anchovies. This dish come with olive oil. It is great appetizer. The olive oil is rich in flavor. Service is a bit slow since they only have one people serve in the front.

The service was very good, the margarita probably one of the best I've had and the food... PHENOMENAL!! We sat and listened to the sights and sounds of old San Juan. Beautiful night to enjoy every delicious bite of amazing food!

Not a tourist trap, just a place to enjoy your drinks and the historic ambience.... ¡Acho Puerto Rico es otra Cosa!

My family and and I, were a weekend (from Florida) in Puerto Rico and went to see the Bad Bunny exhibition they had at Ostra Cosa and asked for piña coladas and very educated and smart the young lady (even there was no power something common in the island!) she improvised serving us, she never said no to us...it started raining and the place was packed and by herself she handled the crowd...the young lady been from USA she spoke/understood very well spanish...2 thumbs up! 100% recommended!

Everything was absolutely delicious! The fish tasted so fresh and the prawns were so tender it tasted like lobster! The service was on point!

I love this place! I love the view and the live music. Last time I came to visit was six months ago and the food has gotten sooo good. The salmon with majado was delish. Chuleta can can and masposteado rice was finger licking good. The octopus mofongo was soft and not dry, nor chewy. Definitely can't complain about the service since they were all very attentive. I wish you success always since I am in love and want to come every time I come home. Gracias!

We were starved and walking by this place. It was ok. We had several appetizers and a dinner. The flavor of the red sauce was odd. The fried cheese was amazing. Empanada was great. Alcapurria was just not the right texture for me.

Outdoor Puerto Rican specialty restaurant near the Castillo San Felipe del Morro, serving delicious seafood dishes and traditional Puerto Rican favorites. Food: Carne frita (paired with choice of sides: arroz con gandules vs. tostones/platanos, etc.) - 5/5 - love every piece of this traditional PR favorite Tostones arropaos (pulpo picado) - 5/5 - diced octopus covered with burnt cheese on top of plantain chip; deliciously seasoned plus multiple textures so very satisfying! Empanadilla (trozos de langosta) - 5/5 - fried breaded pastry with real lobster chunks; soft and crispy at the same time also veryyyy satisfying! Ambience: Outdoor patio dining in sidewalk and terrace Service: Fast, friendly; but can get busy

Upon entering the restaurant we got seated immediately. We sat outside on the patio because the view is phenomenal. It took awhile for the waitress to come out and take our order. Maybe because we were hungry. Honestly though, I feel it was enough time to look over the menu and make the right decision as to what to order. The environment is so calm with the sound of the waves and the breeze coming through the open windows. It might be too much for some ( like my cousin ) but I love it. OMG and seasoned very well. That's not really my thing but it had seafood and looked so good and was dripping with the sauce I couldn't resist. The fried fish were had for an appetizer was seasoned and fried to perfection. I highly recommend this place. Is my fourth time here. I don't have PR without coming here.

Fish tacos were really good, the best we had in the old San Juan area. we were there for 50 odd minutes and went to another bar. the ambiance was good but can't say the same about service but as I said above- this is the scene in every other bar in that street. so this is normal there. also, happy hour is from 3 to 8 (like other bars) one thing to keep in mind- whatever the restaurant/bar/pub you visit in this area - your food order gonna take time, as these all are mostly there for drinks, of course, food items are there in the menu, but it's gonna more then usual time, so if you are hungry, try other restaurants. After a year I think is time to give this review a well deserved update. I keep coming back to this…read moreplace, I really love it--its one of those places that just gets it right! They offer a variety of herbal cocktail, with unique flavors and creative takes. My husband had a mezcal-base drink with herbs and he loved it--so much that he ended up having a few haha... I went for the classic Old Fashion which was OK, not great. I switched to a Moscow Mule after and that one was really good. Verde Mesa wins you over with freshness, balance, and a clear point of view rooted in farm-to-table cooking. Dishes feel vibrant, intentional and thoughtfully composed rather than heavy or overly manipulated. With that said, we began with the Kumamoto oyster, fresh and sweet. Then we had one of their classics, the sourdough toast with spread. This time they served it deconstructed--bread on the side and the spread separate-- and honestly, I like it better. The bread stays perfectly toasted, and you can built it yourself exactly how you want. The ribeye tartare was a pleasant surprise--rich, flavorful and paired with 'platanutres' (plantain chips) on the side, which complimented it really well. The only small note is that the chips were a bit too small to really build a proper bite with the tartare on top. Maybe using mariquitas would make that pairing even better. Also the tuna tiradito was well balanced with passion fruit, sesame seed vinaigrette and 'ají'. For mains, I had the pork cheeks stew, which was incredibly tender, soft and packed with flavor-- definitely a standout. My mom had the seared yellowfin tuna that came beautifully plated and the tuna had a vibrant red color that looked so appetizing. She really enjoy it, and said it was amazing. My husband had the mahi mahi fillet that came on a white cabbage stew and fish broth--he said he'll come back just for that single dish, that's how much he liked it. We saved some room for dessert and tried the tembleque and the tiramisu. The tembleque wasn't the most traditional version, but it had a subtle ginger hint that really worked and made it feel a bit more elevated. The tiramisu was also a great way to end the meal, creamy and indulgent. Overall, I would said the food matches the space-- artistic, cozy and a little whimsical. It's the kind of place where you slow down and enjoy each plate rather than rush through a meal.
