This is a super nice mall that has gone through many changes; although, whoever is in charge seems to make the right decisions when adapting to the changing times. The addition of the bus transit is a major convenience for commuters sans automobile. This is the main mall in the Eastlake/Otay area of Chula Vista. This mall used to be great when it was new and upcoming, but over the years major stores have pulled out/closed down and now it's mediocre. I mainly come here for food now since they have a lot of restaurants and eateries located around the perimeter of the mall. I don't live in this area anymore, but usually I eat at Sushiya or Taquería Revolución whenever I'm nearby and craving sushi or tacos. However, this mall does have major chain restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's, California Pizza Kitchen, and Buffalo Wild Wings. There are also quite a few food court type eateries such as Hot Dog on a Stick, The Kebab Shop, Jersey Mike's, Panda Express, and Panera. The stores here vary, but are mostly cost effective. Some examples of the stores are: Ulta, Bath&Body Works, Cotton On, DSW, H&M, Hollister, Macy's, etc. They have quite a few random, non-brand stores as well. Lastly, for entertainment they have a Barnes & Noble as well as an AMC movie theater. Both facilities are great and I frequented both places when I lived in the area. Also, they have a small library which came in handy when I turned in my passport application and voter mail-in ballot! Overall, this mall is nothing to rush to, but it's still a nice place to walk around/browse and possibly grab a snack or enjoy a meal. read more

Me and the family love coming to this mall, especially since it's right near our house and also since it's dog friendly. This mall has everything other malls have but more. For one like I stated it's dog friendly. With dog bowls all around the mall for water, also there's a dog park and vet at the end of the mall. Parking is vast and has option to park in the middle, front, or at the back of the mall. There's a gym, plenty of food options, and clothing stores. I personally love the barber shop and one awesome thing about this mall is that they have a Farmers Market every Tuesday! There's so much to eat and choose from it's ridiculous! So if you're in the mood to shop around I or just kill time and walk around with the whole family and dogs then this is the place to be!! read more

This is my mall, I really enjoyed our dinner going here, whether it would be shopping, dining, meeting friends, to watch a movie, attend an activity/festival; or just for a casual walk. Its just a bit too crowded with all the new housing right next to it, there's been quite a bit of vandalism here for some time; and the entire Eastlake and surrounding areas; it's sad. I still enjoy the outdoors around here, as we pay enough takes and fees to keep it like this. read more

I have to say I've been coming to this mall regularly for over 13 years. The stores have come and gone. A lot of retailers haven't made it here and this includes pre Covid. I think the main problem here is the location. They overestimated people using the 125 toll road to come here. That didn't happen as well as they thought because people don't want to pay to get to a mall. Albeit the mall itself is nice, another main issue is no one wants to pay sky high prices to shop here. A lot of the stores here have closed. There is no more Banana Republic (what a play on words considering how political the climate is), there is no more Victoria Secret, no more REI, heck Famous Footwear didn't even make it here. All pretty big brand name stores that couldn't crack sales. There is always another store put in its place but if main line stores like this cannot make it in an area that is supposed to be "bourgeois" there's a big problem. To close this out I need to point out the lack of customer service overall here (the Southern region of town in general has a lack of it). You will notice a difference in how staff treats its customers here compared to a Fashion Valley. There have been times staff has ignored me, was straight up rude, or did not give a crap about their jobs. Even the janitorial staff at this mall...I've had attitudes thrown out simply for asking when the restroom would re-open (they tend to shut them down quite often) or for walking near a wet floor area that is basically the entrance to the mall (the food court...albeit I did walk around it). This is a BIG reason IMO no one wants to shop here. Go further north to a real mall like Fashion Valley and you will notice a difference in customer service and the main retail stores you can find there that you cannot find here. No one wants an attitude thrown their way when they are trying to spend money at a supposed established business. The mall needs to retrain a lot of their employees from the cleaning crew to the shop workers! The only thing this place has going for it is the decent selection of restaurants and maybe the AMC theatre. read more

Nice mall! Lots of restaurants around. I don't really come to shop. But when i did.. it was for H&M and DSW. I usually come here to eat. I like the idea of having restaurant choices, but it would be nice if the food selection at the food court was more diverse and had more options. Nice place to hang out. Kids have the library and splash pad. Dog friendly with a dog park located toward Planet Fitness or the "fitness side" of the mall. Lots of activites.. boxing.. pilates.. dance... gyms.. MMA. Etc. Higher end shopping center. Completely outdoors. Think Fashion Valley style meets Chula Vista, very similar selection of stores. Even better ones, at least for my tastes. We don't come often, but when we do it's Cheesecake Factory, Buffalo Wild Wings, Apple store, and a few others in the mall. There's even a TKS--the kebab shop here too. Pretty much any food choice in close proximity. It's located right off the 125 toll road, or you can avoid the tolls and take Olympic parkway exit off the 805 and head eastbound for 5 miles or so and many street lights. I come to this mall often since I live a few blocks away. Also have gym membership at planet fitness. Overall its a decent mall, i wish it would have more stores. I do highly recommend the farmers market on Tuesdays but other than the farmers market and gym. i'd rather go to other bigger malls like Fashion Valley or the North County Mall. read more

I was amazed when I had visited the Center a few years ago. I did not even know the exact name and had asked a patrolling cop. Since then, I drove a lot of miles to come here if I need to visit a mall. It's very nice, clean and spacious and had almost reminded me if I was in Costa Mesa mall. Parking near the restaurants tends to get full quick, however near the theater, there is plenty of it. Still great to see Barnes and Nobles here. Walking in and around the mall is cool. EV charging spots are available, even though just two of them. Food court is awesome, gives a very nice impression. There seems to be now roadside little kiosks, which dont look as appealing as the ones in UTC mall have built for such. read more

A really nice outside plaza to enjoy during the nice weather days. Limited selection when it comes to retail stores but there it's still a great plaza. Parking is super spacious and plenty. Aside from the construction, this isn't a bad mall. I used to frequent this spot for Sephora, Aldo, H&M, Hollister, DSW, Victoria's Secret, Charlotte Russe, and Macy's yet I never cared to remark on my visits because I don't usually review shopping centers but after reading a few reviews, I think I'll make an exception. Yes this mall has uncommon boutiques. No it isn't hard to find parking unless you're obese and/or incapable of walking around a pedestrian shopping center! Actually, I was obese and in high heels back in the day and I still managed to get around (with two dogs) so to whoever thinks parking sucks, get used to light cardio and suck it up. Anyway, this mall has Stepford Wife aesthetics to match the tile roof, terracotta Spanish villa looks of the surrounding new Chula Vista otherwise known as the Mexican La Jolla. It isn't an ugly mall by any means, it just may not be your style. What I appreciate about this mall are the community amenities like the dog park near REI or the paintball field (this may be under construction at the moment). Other honorable mentions are the fireplace, public library, interactive water geysers, and the Tuesday farmer's market. I don't know if it's still happening but I remember live llama rides every Tuesday. My dogs loved gawking over llamas. As far as food choices, I would say that there is a tiny sample of everything available to suit every palate. I'm vegetarian and I found something to eat while walking around so it isn't awful. Middle class to high-end chain restaurants aren't my thing but I won't fuss about Cheesecake Factory's happy hour nor would I fuss about a quick bite from Vitality Bowls. There's also a Panda Express, Chilis, Jack in the Box, California Pizza Kitchen, and Sushiya to those who are into those sorts of places. I would rather go here than Plaza Bonita unless I wanted to shop at Nordstrom Rack or Forever 21. But honestly, let's get real... if you're a consumer, you know your ass drives all over San Diego to shop! Don't act like you get it all done in one mall. Parkway Plaza and Fashion Valley are the two biggest malls in terms of store selection but those malls stress me out so I make it easy on my blood pressure and I stick to the underrated places. read more

I love the feel of this "town center" "mall." Well....it's NOT QUITE a mall but so different from a strip mall. I'd say it's in the middle! What I love about this place is that it is so dog friendly!! If I could bring both my fur-kids here they would love it! Some stores have a doggie bowl at the door (just in case they are thirsty from walking around with their parent (s). Doggie bag (poop bags for those who are not canine inclined) are dispersed though out the Town Center. There is a night market that stages on the main road between the stores between 4-8pm on Tuesdays. From what I saw, various food stands as well as crafted items but no veggies/fruits or flowers. All in all, a great place to hang if you decide you want to do something a little different from your routine. Not that many stores that appeal to the younger generation (i'm guessing 20 y.o. and below) but there were a few of my favorite shops there: - Anthropologie - Aldos - REI - Gap - Barnes & Noble - Macys - Sephora - LOFT - DSW There are a variety of places to eat as well that include Romano's Macaroni Grill, PF Changs, The Cheesecake Factory, Chilis (all mostly chain restaurants but still better than the typical food court choices). This mall is outdoor, new, pretty.. Unfortunately, there aren't too many stores.. And the food court is VERY limited. I still rate this mall 4 stars bc of what they offer.. It's best to come here if you have a purpose, like a specific store you need to go to. They also have a little water play area that's great for little kids to run around in on hot days.. We also enjoy coming here on Tuesday afternoon/evenings during the farmers market to walk around... The library is small but also a nice little place to stop in, especially during story time... Around the corner on the West end of the mall, there's even a dog park where your dogs can run around in... Of course there's also several restaurants and the theater too! A few wks ago, my daughter celebrated her 4th bday... Her n her friends got their hair braided at Pigtails & Crewcuts. We then went across to the food court where we set up a section for our party. Just came back from this mall...and it's a little off the beaten path but I have to say...it's a few days before Christmas and it was not crazy busy and I got my last few presents in as little as 45 mins. Now that the 125 South Toll Road is open it's literally a hop, skip and jump away from me which is very nice. I do agree that it needs a good home store like Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn or West Elm...but it's still adding new stores and I am sure in the future it will add those types of stores in. read more

Mall seems to be falling apart aka Ghost Town. Use to come here often because my fav store Angl was here but it shut down along with plenty of other stores. Lots of vacancies and unknown generic stores here. This mall is in a perfect location but definitely needs improvement. Reminds of Victoria Gardens when they first opened and now Victoria Gardens has improved, added plenty of restaurants and retail stores, even has a horse and carriage during the holidays and a train. Otay can become the go-to mall for many people in the area if they expanded and opened for known shops. Now we can come just to kill time, sit at the food court eating an ice cream. read more

Looks pretty and new from the outside but on paper the stores present are pretty lackluster and sad. I was bored of going to the same Westfield malls so I thought to check this place out and although it was super out of the way, thought it was worth the drive but sadly I regret going here due to lack of stores that are offered. I'm sure it's not just me as it was pretty dead for a weekend. What looks to used to be an Anthropology, it looks to have closed down due to lack of business. Went to Macy and it was pretty small and quiet. There are some charger stations which was pretty cool but that's about it. The H&M was pretty small and that was the only decent store where I spent most of my time while there. Probably won't be coming here again due to lack of stores that interest me. read more

My favorite mall in San Diego is Horton Plaza, and to be honest, I didn't know Otay Ranch Town Center, (for the sake of not worsening my potential carpel tunnel, I'll abbreviate this place as ORTC), existed until my sister started a relationship with a guy that works at ORTC. This shopping center is pretty awesome. A little high end, but awesome. Like a lot of other Westfield malls in San Diego county, ORTC is also outdoors, however, everything is one story and not connected like traditional malls. Meaning that Sephora is across the street from Victoria's Secret, which is down the sidewalk from Bath and Body Works, as opposed to across the hall or something. You need to make sure you don't get run over by cars when you go from one store to another that's across the way. But if you do get run down, hey, natural selection, right? Things to enjoy at ORTC: dog park, high end stores, decent food court, AMC Theatres, dine-in restaurants, and even a Chula Vista Public Library branch..! Dude, what the hell?! A library branch AND great shopping all in once place?!?! What more could you ask for? Only downside I can think of is that the rich / elite from Tijuana frequent this mall. Not self-loathing or anything. Just warning you.. Also, given that there are a few high schools in the vicinity, there are high school kids galore here on weekends (and now, since they're on summer break). High school kids. Bleh. Other than that, ORTC is a great, alternative to the rich snobs at Fashion Valley. I wish the MTS provided more frequent transportation to and from ORTC. read more

As one of my old friends called this mall on her Yelp review, this is a "bougie mall." First off, what's with the outdoor food court? The food court has been a joke since day one! I haven't seen all stalls occupied since the mall's first year in 2007. You're better off eating at one of the sit-down chain restaurants. Even better, drive one block away from the mall to In-n-Out Burger! With the neighboring Plaza Bonita and Chula Vista malls that are constantly being remodeled, yet have more affordable shops, there are only few reasons to spend a good amount of time here: - TUESDAY FARMER'S MARKETS - Barnes and Noble, one of the few surviving stores in San Diego - Apple Store for convenient service (I've never used their services, so I can't say much) - Dine at... Buffalo Wild Wings (the only one in East Chula Vista; formerly occupied by King's Fish House) Cheesecake Factory Chili's Macaroni Grill California Pizza Kitchen P.F. Chang's - Watch a movie at AMC 12 (I believe) - Shop at Macy's, Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works, just a few of the mall staples if you live in Otay Ranch or Eastlake and do not want to travel far It tries to be bougie, but it neither has practical shops like Target, nor the true luxury stores you'll find in Fashion Valley. If I remember correctly, the Starbucks and Panda Express shops are located on a far end, with another Starbucks and Panda Express just two miles away at the Eastlake Marketplace! I do appreciate some of the small shops, like a sports store for me to quickly shop for a SD ball cap to bring with me back to Hawaii. I didn't have to drive too far from my parents' home for this quick errand. Really, this mall is only good for a quick shop and go. read more

It has come to the point where I only go to this mall if I need something specific. I live just a few minutes away, but there's nothing here that really draws me in. You can usually find me in Anthropologie, Sephora, Macy*s, or the Apple Store. I sometimes shop at H&M, Ann Taylor Loft and GAP, and I will randomly drop into Gepetto's. Aside from that, I don't come here to kill time like I do with Plaza Bonita or Target. I tried hanging out/studying at Barnes & Noble a couple times, but I found it to be overrun with teenagers. I feel like this mall is definitely more women-oriented. Boyfriend always ends up waiting for me in the Apple Store. Still, I'm glad I don't have to drive outside my safe Eastlake/Otay Ranch bubble. There are definitely many dining options. I always end up at Sushiya with my girlfriends for a spontaneous, local dinner or Panera for a quickie lunch. I feel like it has all of the standard family style, run of the mill restaurants, too. (PF Changs, Macaroni Grill, Cheesecake Factory, CPK, Chili's) I've seen a ton of movies at that AMC, especially on $6 Friday mornings, and I've wandered through the Farmer's Market a few times. Of course, the dog park is a great perk. I come here with my Penny Lane and she gets to sniff all of the other small dogs. The entire mall is dog-friendly, with water bowls outside most stores and many poop bag dispensers. I'm glad that there is a Best Buy and Party City here, too. Can we get a Michael's next? P.S. I give this mall 3 stars because it's new, its got an extensive amount of high end stores as well as mid grade shops and it has an impressive list of restaurants to chose from. The downside is that parking is horrible unless you chose to valet or get there early. Personally I find it easier to shop at this center when you know which shops you want to visit otherwise, you might find yourself "dazed and confused." This place is HUGE so be prepared to do a lot of walking. read more

It's new with retail shops and restaurants. I've been here a couple times only because I have fams in the area. Otherwise, I wouldn't make the trek all the way down here. I'm not too crazy about the drive thru aspect of the town center. I went here last night for the Chula Vista Wine and Food Festival - for a mall, I was surprised at how upscale the place was. Very clean, not too crowded (there was no line for the Cheesecake Factory location, unlike the one in Mission Valley)... if it weren't so far out of the way, I can see myself spending more time here! Oh, and the festival was awesome - plenty of food and drink (loved the prime rib and mashed potatoes, and the tequila from the Adam Y Eva booth), plus I was able to take home eight of the wine tasting glasses, and a four pack of ginger beer. Love that this mall is dog friendly!! Love that there is plenty of parking!! The shops and their staff are super friendly (except for H&M). There are many really wonderful restaurants to choose from. There are movie theaters and even the bathrooms are always clean and are next to the security office so they are safe. There is a Farmers Market every week and there's even a dog park and a vet's office here!! If you are an Apple person, the Apple store here is the best I've been too. You'd expect this outdoor shopping center to be a lot more crowded because of the variety of shops and restaurants, and the AMC movie theater, but it seems as if this gem of Eastlake just pulls in people from the immediate area and south of Chula Vista to the nearest town below. It's got a hipster feel, people can walk their dogs here and shops put out water bowls for the dogs to drink from. Otay Pet Vets veterinarians are on the far west side next to the REI and there's a dog park right next to it. Vanessa T. is correct when she says the teenage/young adult sector is more well behaved than at other mall locations. The Farmers Market on Tuesday afternoons/evenings (beginning at 4 PM) is disappointing. For a Farmers Market, you expect to see produce, and more produce, and maybe some honey and homemade jellies and things that actually come from farms. Sadly to say, this market is mainly craft tables and food booths. When I look for a Farmers Market, I couldn't recommend this one to anyone wanting a large selection of fruits and vegetables. Now, back to positivity - LOVE the selection of restaurants here...California Pizza Kitchen, PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory, Panera, a new hipster Mexican restaurant called El Vitral...and Chili's and Macaroni Grill aren't that bad. Skip Nico's Steakhouse...it's the worst steakhouse I've ever spent so much money on. The AMC movie theater is wonderful - kept clean and is rarely crowded to the point of capacity except on opening nights of blockbusters, but you'd expect it to be. Nice selection of stores such as Apple, Coach, Barnes & Noble, REI, Best Buy, an Aveda salon called Gila Rut (which is where I get my hair done), there are way too many teenage girl clothing stores in my opinion and a wider variety of clothing stores should be represented to men/teenage boys and the older population. Gymboree and Children's Place is here. A specialty toy store, a comic book store, Body Shop and Bath & Body Works is here, a DSW Shoes, Party City, Macy's, Aldo Shoes, a specialty furniture store... Otay Pet Vets veterinary office is here, and this is where I bring my pets. A wonderful location and Dr. Anderson is wonderful as well. I won't go anywhere else. There's a KidVille location and I've been here. Way overpriced for the number of and time duration of classes - mostly geared for kids under 5 years old. The food court is lacking, but doable. The best thing there is a Hot Dog on a Stick franchise, and right around the corner is a Nestle Toll House ice cream and cookie store. The best thing about the food court is the tiny kids' water park with sprayers and fountains coming out of the concrete...fun to watch the little ones play in the water. The new branch of the Chula Vista Public Library is wonderful...small and made for kids mostly...but great. Small private meeting/study/reading rooms are nice there. A drop box for books is available for hours they're not open. Watch for holiday events here...such as the Easter Egg Hunt which is PACKED, Christmas tree lighting, several parades during the year. The parking is abundant, and it's pretty well lit. I love the outdoor feel of the mall and love the location. It's a gem in the Eastlake/Otay Ranch area of Chula Vista. read more
