I've been coming to the Chula Vista Center AMC for almost three years, and the escalators leading…read moreto the second-floor theater have been broken for nearly that entire time. At first only one side was out of service. Now neither escalator works, yet the same apology sign has been sitting there for years. What's even more frustrating is that the nearest regular staircase is gated off, forcing everyone to use the stationary escalator steps or walk towards the north side of the mall. Escalator steps are steeper, taller, and can be slippery, making them much more difficult to navigate, especially for seniors, people with mobility issues, and families with young children. Yes, there is an elevator, but it's farther inside the mall and not conveniently located for people simply trying to get to the AMC. I see people struggling on these stairs every time I visit. What I don't understand is how the mall continues investing in new development while neglecting basic infrastructure that's already there. New restaurants and new construction are exciting, but before expanding even further, Chula Vista Center should invest in maintaining the property people already use every day. Functional escalators to one of the mall's biggest attractions shouldn't be a luxury. Three years is an unreasonable amount of time to leave both escalators out of service. If repairing them isn't possible, then at the very least open the regular staircase on the south side so people have a safer way to access the theater. Do better. This has gone on long enough.

There is the Burlibgton Coat Factory the two level clothing store that you can buy things for the damily and clothes for the kids and the wide selection of the mens suits and sports wear. The Santa Claus station for photos was not packed at all nor did Santa have any customers; super surprising. The popular feature at this mall is the kids choo choo train that drives through the first floor of the mall. It runs about every 20 mins with so many little kid passengers. There are plenty of ways to enter and exit this shopping center with stop signs or either by stop light. It is conveniently located off highway 54 with 2 exits available by freeway. SERIOUS TOWING DISPUTE -- ACCESSIBLE PARKING SPACE & VEHICLE DAMAGE…read more On August 28, 2026, my vehicle was towed by Western Towing from a designated accessible parking space at Las Americas Premium Outlets while a valid disabled placard was prominently displayed. I dispute the basis and circumstances of the tow. The written tow authorization provided to me identifies the alleged violation as "WALK-OFF, NON-CUSTOMER." After recovering my vehicle, I identified damage that I believe occurred in connection with the towing incident, including damage to the front lower bumper and my dashcam. I have preserved photographs, records, and other documentation relating to the vehicle's condition and the incident. I paid the $285 towing charge under protest in order to recover my vehicle, and I documented my dispute on the paperwork. Formal complaints concerning this incident have been submitted to appropriate agencies and organizations. Las Americas Premium Outlets management has also confirmed to me in writing that video footage and documentation of the incident have been preserved. Western Towing has referred the matter to corporate counsel, who has acknowledged my evidence-preservation request. The legality of the tow, responsibility for the claimed vehicle damage, and other issues remain disputed. I am limiting this review to my personal experience and facts supported by records currently available to me. I will update the review if the matter is resolved or additional verified information becomes available.

I parked at the west entrance area off Kettner Blvd after you turned on Harbor. Just know that the parking area don't take cash so it's card only. My wife visited more stores than I did. I went to a jewelry store near the parking lot because my wife wanted to look there. Afterwards, I went to the Surf company store to look for hats and just walked around while pushing my daughter in her stroller. We saw the fountain and also the water shoreline where you walk. I think most store here will validate your parking pass if you buy something so it will help. We had a good time here and I didn't realize this was where my groomsmen took me when we came for my bachelor party. We visited the Mike Hess Brewing restaurant so it brought back memories.

I've been to Cotijas, Baskin Robbins, McDonald's, Subway, Vons, the petstore and even the flower shop. I've discovered the açaí bowl place next to subway. I've discovered an in store Starbucks at Vons (that makes better Fraps than the actual Starbucks locations). I've discovered a library across the street. All this, playing Pokémon go in this area. This whole place is loaded with in game content and a lot of players frequent the area while enjoying the local businesses. For many of us, the games presence was the defining difference maker as to why we would come here instead of let's say Otay Ranch Mall or Chula Vista Mall. Or another food location or Wal-Mart or even Costco's. It had a gym that many of us took pride in defending (a gym is an in game location that players Pokémon battle over for territorial control based on 1 of three team factions). Anyways, I thought about going to my favorite taco but ended up siding with cotijas over here since it is in this parking lot and I see that all the stops are being removed along with its gym. Nothing against cotijas, but the main reason that won me over here most of the time WAS Pokemongo. I understand some players hog the parking spots that may effect small businesses (real life greater than gaming life). But I just wanted to voice my opinion on this. This shopping Centre may not lose a lot of money. But this specific one is probably going to be crossed off of my main spending locations. It obviously needs every dollar it can get as small businesses constantly come and go. Like hallmark is already Out of Business here. Your local food spots were great for gamers though. Shutting them out isn't a great idea In my opinion because you miss out on extra business. Especially when your parking lot is a well known reference spot. "The Vons" is all we had to say and Pokemongo players knew which Vons you meant. Now it's just another Vons to us. Well probably migrate to another shopping center or area. The mall itself has great stores, but what stood out to me was the number of homeless individuals throughout property. As a shopper, I did not feel comfortable walking around the mall. My two young kids were very uncomfortable, I have to move them from the food court and sit and eat elsewhere. For a high-end shopping destination, I expected a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment. You cannot pay with a credit card or U.S. dollars, only Mexican pesos. Since Tijuana is a border city, that feels a bit inconvenient. A large variety of fast food establishments like Carl's Jr and Taco Bell are available. The area around the AMC is getting a makeover with new several stores and restaurants opening soon. Overall, it meets the needs of the local community in regards to shopping, entertainment, and fast food. It is lacking a bar and fast casual dining. More green space would be nice.
