This space used to house one of the older Chinese herbal pharmacies, lasting over three decades, until the family retired and closed their business. I heard the children might still be doing a wholesale business but their Chinatown footprint is no more. They've had multiple incidents of break-ins and smash-and-grab events over the years which prompted them to hire a full-time security guard to stand watch in front of the store. Luk Fook decided to open a 2nd Chinatown location here. They used to have a store on Grant Avenue, They have not announced when they will reopen, likely tricky if it hinges on the city to approve contractor work.
