I hadn't been here in such a long time, and coming back felt like coming home. I recently brought my sister here to look for crystals, sage, obsidian, and to replace my beloved rose quartz heart. The moment I walked through the doors, I felt nothing but positive, peaceful energy. This place has always held a special place in my heart, and the nostalgia hit me instantly. I was overwhelmed with gratitude that they're still here, and I truly hope they never close their doors. I found beautiful amethyst beads, amethyst hearts, a gorgeous rose quartz heart, black obsidian beads, and even the cutest little jade ring. The best part of my visit was recognizing a familiar face. The sweet woman working there smiled and said, "Welcome back," and immediately I felt at home. There's something incredibly special about leaving a place for over a decade, returning, and feeling like nothing has changed--in the absolute best way. This shop has been a part of the San Pablo community since I was a little kid, and I'm so thankful it's still here. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. They're conveniently located right next to the post office. Whether you're spiritual, looking for crystals, incense, sage, jewelry, beads, unique gifts, souvenirs, or beautiful little treasures, they truly have something for everyone with great prices. Get ready to go on the biggest crystal treasure hunt of your life !!!!!!! I spent about 5 hours here today literally crawling on my hands and knees with a flashlight. Search high, search low, search deep and take your time as your new crystal energy awaits. Don't rush or you just might walk by the greatest treasure on earth. There is a little something for everyone here. And an awesome place for gifts. I met Susan at a local gem show in Santa Rosa at her Lucky Handicraft booth. I can not imagine doing business with anyone else and knew that I must see her 2 stores. Go full or pack snacks because this can be an all day event. Thankfully they have a bathroom for you to use. Susan has always been so generous with me. She is very patient with me and I really like her as a person. The other staff members are very helpful. They do an excellent job of packing up your order and handling it with care. From pocket rocks to statement pieces this store has it all and it's easy to go nuts in here. Impulse control, which, I had none today......LOL They have a larger store in San Pablo and I visited both locations today. No one will beat her prices, selection or legendary deals. This is a must stop for anyone who is a rock hound or likes to make things from natural stone beads. They have THE BEST SELECTION in the bay for semi precious stones and beads and is similar to what you would find a a gem show. You really can't beat their prices either and they are way less expensive than what you would find in the city, near wholesale prices. read more

I have continued to visit Lucky Handicrafts when in the Bay Area. Although more recently I have gone in expecting to leave empty handed b/c I have already bought so much, I continue to find awesome items in this treasure trove. Posting photos of my latest finds, which include authentic rustic shell necklaces from Papua, New Guinea, embellished textiles from India, and a real cow skull, so well priced I initially assumed it was a replica, until I was told otherwise and inspected it closely. A lot of junk. A lot of cool and fun stuff, but it is of low quality. Some of the gems did not look authentic. It's quite messy, and it did not seem like a welcoming store. Seemed more like they were looking to sell. My wife bought a carved wooden hand with both palms together, and we did not noticed that it was broken prior and glued with clear glue until we took it home and rinsed it because it was so dusty. Unfortunately, the store has a no refund policy. Not many gems, many looked manufactured. read more

I just found this little gem 10 minutes away from my house, they've been there over 10 years and I just discover them. They have a nice selection of beads, jewelry, and incense but I came for the crystals! I was very pleased with the selection of crystals and the prices. How can I best describe this wonderful place? If you know San Pablo Avenue in Richmond, you have probably driven past it a hundred times and haven't thought to go inside. It is next door to a liquor store and just up the street from the Mira Vista post office. From the outside you'd never guess that it's chock-full of incredibly beautiful treasures from Asia and South Asian countries. 'Looking for an unusual instrument? A gamelan piece perhaps? Or how about a drum or a gong? They've got a fine selection of trinkets and hard-to-find "handicrafts" for you to enjoy or give as gifts. Their jewelry is amazing - lots of beads to choose from, and all at wholesale prices or just pretty incredibly affordable. A ton of lovely dangling earrings too... they even carry a nice selection of belly-dancing supplies. Here are some things I've purchased so far: Beads, necklace-making materials, bracelets, a gorgeous table runner, a statue of Ganesh (to remove obstacles, of course!), a few Pashmina shawls (about $5-$8 each!!!) and a bit of incense. This place brings me back to my hippie days as a teenager. I spent most of my babysitting money on imported goods - flowery Indian skirts and lots of hematite and rose quartz. I would have loved this place back then! And at Lucky, I don't have to worry about being hit on by some weird proprietor, as is often the case at some of the other cool import haunts. Susan, the owner, is lovely. She was very helpful today when I visited. Her daughter Julie is a natural at creating beautiful jewelry. She suggested the perfect Pashmina scarf for me to wear to a wedding. Just check this place out! Plan on giving yourself a good chunk of time to do so, since you'll want to really take your time and see everything they've got. There's A LOT of stuff packed into this store. It's the perfect place to go for a gift for someone who has everything (oh, except for maybe a gorgeous Balinese mask or a hand-made choker that you've personally made for her (or him) to enjoy.) I love finding crystals and stones here! Everything is reasonably priced and they always have something new.....The service has been very friendly with the younger lady that works there. She is very knowledgeable about the types of crystals/stones that they carry (as far as identifying them... I forgot her name but will update this post when I find out). It's like going into Alladin's cave! Shopping there is an experience I look forward to. I lose track of time in there -- I spend up to a couple of hours, yet the place is fairly small (but the selection is huge). I go mainly for the crystals -- they're amazing and always something new to discover. Sinh, the young woman who manages the store, knows her stuff -- and she has taught me a lot about the stones, I'm getting good at recognizing them. Even when I spend very little, she is patient and will spend a lot of time explaining things to me -- not to pressure me to buy, but to share her knowledge and passion. There is a huge selection.
