I loved this place when it was a dive bar. It took them a really long time to fix it after the fire. I have no idea why. I went in tonight for the first time in a very long time and the place was just not the same. I miss the old wooden seats bar etc. we sat in the enclosed area on the porch. It was freezing and not enough heat. I slept with my jacket on and was still cold. The menu is changed and they need to find the chef and food they had before the fire. I went with the idea of having a roast pork sandwich which I always liked there. It was taken off the menu. They have all these wraps now and melts. Salads etc. give me old fashioned bar food. They did not even have a good roast beef sandwich. I ordered French onion soup which was not very good. My friend ordered the gumbo soup special and it came out cold. I mean cold. Not warm. I ended up ordering a French dip was mediocre at best. They gave a half cup of au jus. The sandwich was small and not even full with meat to the end. The fries were not bad. The pickle was the best thing. And of course the Corona. I guess the remodeling was more than they expected or did not get enough insurance money. Not going back soon. read more

The person at the door couldn't tell if my ID was 'fake' or not because it was a NY license. There was an obnoxious bouncer flashing his flashlight at my wife and I while we were eating, for no apparent reason. The place was empty, the lights were on, I did not understand why he did that. The wings are great, the otts tots are to die for and the flatbread pizzas are amazing too. The service the first time I went for dinner was a little slow on the drink refills but in her defense the server was alone and the bartender seemed more concerned with socializing than filling the drink orders the waitress was giving her. The second time was for lunch and the service was much better and the food was equally as good as the first time. My husband and I prefer this Ott's to the new Voorhees one. We love going there on Sunday afternoons. They have a huge bar with lots of places to sit and be able to see a tv for sports games. Went here for St Pattys Day weekend so naturally it was super crowded. Parking is an absolute nightmare. You have to circle the lot- which has pot holes (and it just rained so it was muddy) and race people for spots. There was a line a the door for IDs. Half of my party was let in-- the other half were left standing outside in the line.. the guy at the door didn't say why.. I guess it was his attempt at crowd control? The inside was SO crowded, like sardines. The band was cool but kind of loud. The "dance floor" was so crowded you couldn't really even dance.. a bunch of younger girls dancing with their drinks spilling all over. Good priced irish trashcans! The security guy was really nice and funny. OH-- they also had some tables reserved at 9pm on a Saturday... seems weird, unnecessary, and unfair? Overall-- okay. I don't know if I'd go back. After living in the area my entire life, this is the first time I have ever been to this Ott's. I walked in with not having very high expectations other than having a good time in a chill atmosphere. The first thing that turned me off was the cover for a band that wasn't even playing yet. If the band was playing, whatever, I'll pay for the cover. But if they're not even ready yet, it's ridiculous. Next, I stood by the bar for 10 minutes waiting to be served. As a bartender in a very high volume establishment, I understand getting backed up. This was not the case. Four bartenders walked by, looked at me, and continued chatting up with their coworkers. The bar business is about customer service. Well, apparently not here. The only good thing about my visit here was the waitress that took care of us when we sat at a table. Friendly and timely. I'm glad we got her, since the other waitress looked miserable walking around. If I ever come back, I'll be looking for her! read more

My favorite bar! Food is great with tons of specials depending on the day. Drinks are great, never watered down. The staff are in my opinion the best part!!! They make you feel at home. They have a deck out back where you can sit and enjoy the weather. They have a DJ on the weekend which I love! But I have to say again...the food is AMAZING! Been going to Otts, well a long time. The new (well not so new now) change is ok in my opinion, got rid of the riff raft so to speak I guess?? Only reason I can think of for the price increases and complete theme change. To the the food, had it all, for the most part real good, not great for the price, that's not a bad thing. One of my favorites is the Delmonico steak w fries. Put it this way, I remember when it was 5.99 now 13-14 ish. Still well worth it, thin piece of rib eye what it is, and 99% of the time cooked perfectly for me. Very red not raw. Everything else burgers, wings ect all good as stated. Place just lost that home town feel. " get em in feed em, get em out" make sense to anyone? But again will be back. went last Friday with my adult children for my birthday. I checked the website and thought it might be a decent place to eat. When we got there we were stopped at the door by a bouncer who informed us that there was a 5 dollar cover charge! Because they had live music. I explained that we just wanted to eat in the dining room but he said..too bad! I wanted to leave then and there, but my kids said lets just go in. They paid the $15 cover charge and we were placed in the dining room away from the music anyway. The website never said anything about a cover charge to get into this dump!!! Food was just ok and drinks were pretty watered down. We should have left when we were asked to pay a cover that didnt even include a free drink!! Too many nicer places to go than this place! This place is okay, food is decently priced and drink are average. What gets you is the $5.00 cover. There is one every Friday and Saturday night. Most bars in Philly don't even charge that much if anything to get in. You could literally go there on a Friday with some homeless man playing the kazoo and they would still milk the cover from you for the live entertainment. Aaaaaah, Otts!.....miss the old Otts, it had character and it was fun to write on the bathroom walls, it is asthetically pleasing inside now albeit way more loud now with that high ceiling and wish that pool table was not in there. The food prices went up but for bar food it's better than most, their burgers are great and they have good specials daily. Now the fun part, the staff!....Julie and Michelle are fantastic, personable and both work hard, id rather go there during the day to see them since they are the most pleasant to talk to as for two of their other female coworkers who tend bar leave a little to be desired, the first one is very beautiful but she is downright rude and not nice to talk to unless you are a young kid she went to high school with who are always in there acting like total tools then it's ok but she tends to forget about the other paying customers who want service, I'm not there to get a date with her, I'm there to get food and some beers and stagger to my truck and the other one is pretty ignorant as well, I think her name is Jamie? she only tends to her regulars and again thinks everybody wants to date her and loses focus of her other customers who want good service as well, I try to stay away if those 2 are working. We recently had a retire party at this restaurant and it was amazing. The staff made everything easy and the service was amazing. The buffet was setup perfectly out on the deck and there was plenty of room for our 120 guests. Management was so accommodating. Food was delicious and it seemed to never run out. I came here for the first time back in March after a softball game. I'm used to the Ott's in Medford so I was pretty surprised walking in and seeing how big this one was in comparison. The menu is the same as the other Ott's so the consistency is nice, great beer specials, plenty of TV's around if you're there to watch whatever game happens to be playing. $5 COVER ON A FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHT? What a joke. This is a dive bar in Berlin. The other local bars Ollie Gators, Dublin Square, Lucky Lou's, and Racks all have live bands and do not charge a cover. I went there this past Saturday and there might of been 20 people in the entire place and they still had the audacity to ask for a cover. Worst thing is... the band doesn't start playing till 10pm but they start collecting a cover at 8pm (sometimes earlier). This is poor management. I have taken my wife up on a Friday night to grab a bite to eat and bouncer hassles me about trying to get a cover. We paid $10 bucks and then ate our meal and left around 945pm and the band still didn't even play a song yet. WHAT A JOKE. The old OTT's was 100x's better. No shuffleboard now, pool table is in a terrible spot and whatever genius configured the TV set up should be fired. You can only see tv's if you site on 1 side of the bar. The other side has small 20inch tv's that you need a pair of binoculars to view. This bar is only hanging on by charging covers. It is empty on most nights by midnight. This place used to be rocking till 2 or 3am. I know at least 15 to 20 people that have refused to ever go back there again for a drink randomly on a saturday night because no one wants to pay a cover to hang out at a TOWN BAR. You are not PJs. We walked in Saturday evening about 6pm; the place was surprisingly not busy (of course we now know why they weren't busy, because it the service was AWFUL). For starters, the music was insanely loud-which is fine for the later crowd, but not for dinner & conversation-everyone was yelling at each other to be heard over the music. We should've left then. The "hostess" looked like she wanted to be anywhere but there, and seemed a little annoyed that she had to seat us. The waitress came right over and took our drink order, and when she came back we were ready to order, but she didn't ask. She literally set the drinks down and left. So we're waiting & waiting for her to come back and then we see her sitting at a table on her phone. We left. Perhaps an off night? Went to Ott's on a Monday night around 7. Sat for a few minutes until the bartender noticed me. I asked if they had any drink specials, and a menu was literally "tossed" to me. Nothing I was interested in, so I ordered a Jack Daniels on the rocks. My go-to. The bartender fills the highball glass with ice almost resembling a "snow cone". Waiting for a typical pour, the bartender fills the glass an inch full---no kidding, and holds it up to the light to inspect it. Did they install cameras since my last visit? Never at this bar, nor any other for that matter, have I had this drink made with so little alcohol in it. I had to ask for a double to make it a "normal". On top of that, not once did a bartender come back to ask if I would like to see a menu, as I was planning on getting an appetizer. Meanwhile, evertone around me is eating. So I stopped another bartender and asked him if there were any food specials tonight.....NO. As I was finishing my drink, and getting ready to leave, the couple next to me asked another bartender about food specials....turns out it was DOLLAR taco night. Anyway, paid my bill.....$13.25 for one drink.....exact same drink at Redstone if not a bit larger, would've cost me $10.00.......just don't get it? This place is exceptionally average. It's a shame too, because I really want to like this place as it is close to my house. The inside is decorated nicely and inviting as everything looks clean. It features a decent sized deck for warmer weather dining. I've been here a few times and each time the word that comes to mind as far as the food is mediocre. I'm left wanting more as far as taste. The most recent time I came I got the chicken fingers platter with fries. I asked for them buffalo style and out came chicken fingers with a side of buffalo sauce. Note to the cooks: this is not "buffalo style". The server took it back and brought it out with the chicken tossed in the Holy Hot flavored sauce. The sauce was nothing special, it just seemed like hot sauce that lacked a little flavor. Not only was that an issue, but I got soup along with it and for some reason, it was brought out along with my entree so I had to eat my soup rather quickly so the rest of my food didn't get cold. I've given this place more than enough chances to wow me and it looks like I'll try to find another place close to me for a last minute bar to go to. read more

This place has so much potential but continues to miss the mark. The bartenders overall are pretty nice but they spend TOO MUCH TIME socializing at the cash registers instead of waiting on customers. You can sit at the bar and watch them talking while waiting for them to acknowledge you. It's ridiculous. It's like working is a social event. Also, several of them have been there for too long and it's obvious. They seem sick of their jobs. Being a regular customer doesn't matter either. The food isn't bad as far as bars go but its overpriced for Berlin. Ott's will probably hang in there for a bit longer but with newer more updated options like Dooneys and certainly more to come in the area- especially in Marlton, which is close enough - Ott's should realize they need to step up their game. I was there recently on a Saturday and it was pretty dead. Tells you something. I'd hate to see them go under but, if so, it's their own fault. Get with it Otts management and staff. read more

Stopped by for a few beers and some light dinner. They had what looked like a nice selection of draft beer, so I asked for a list. There isn't one I was told by a bartender in his mid 40s. Huh? You have to look on the chalkboard, I was told. So I had to get up and walk over to the chalkboard at the chicken scratch to order something other than bud. After ordering some overpriced flatbread pizza, another bartender came over an hour later and gave me a beer list. Now why wasn't I given that in the beginning? Because one of the beers was switched over and the other guy didn't feel like explaining which one. Okay. Then I looked online and noticed that there was all you can eat snow crabs that day, which nobody had mentioned. Geez what lousy service. I received an updated beer list just as I was about to leave. This was once a known dive bar which caught on fire and recently rebuilt. Although nice inside, it still has the dive bar attitude, but not the prices. I don't want to pay $5 to $7 for a draft beer and have to walk over to try to read a mess on the chalkboard. read more
